AW 42% Extra 260
Hey Mark, my 42% 260 balances just at IN FRONT of the wing tube at the wing root do you think it will fly the IMAC pattern balanced this way? This point is about 1/8" back from the recommended balance point. Bobby

RE: AW 42% Extra 260 QB - Tight Wing Tube
I had a brake cylinder hone from my mechanicing days that I put pieces of 120 grit sticky sandpaper on. Put the hone in the tube and ran it with my electric drill from one side to the other and VIOLA - it worked!! The tube now slides in/out okay! Thanks for checking up on me Rocco. This is why I own three of your planes (35% Extra 260 and 35% Yak and now the 42% Extra 260)!! Bobby

AW 42% Extra 260 QB - Tight Wing Tube
Mark/Rocco: the carbon wing tube is an extremely tight fit in the fuse. I'm afraid that if I get the tube in I won't be able to remove it! Should I sand the tube itself or the inside of the fuse tube for a better fit? Thanks for your quick response. Bobby Mark, it was nice meeting you at the NATS!

RE: New Wild Hare Sukhoi ready to fly
Of course another easy fix is to put a 1/4" air dam in front of the cowl cutout! The air dam creates an area of low pressue and pulls out the hot air! Bobby

I saw one of these setups just as you describe at an IMAC contest a couple of years ago. In my opinion, it was a perfect combo. Bobby

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying
It's a hard thing to do but the right thing is to push full down elevator and build up some airspeed and get the plane flying again. Then you could worry about landing - somewhere? Bobby

Hey Steve, it has been a long time! You will really like the plane as it flys well and will probably fit in your truck very nicely. Are you going to put a DA or DL 50 in it? Bobby

RE: Using a PowerExpander Pro with a JR 1221 Rx
Robert, after more work and some help from Len Alessi I now have a working PE/JR1221 setup. It turns out that the "problem" was all in the transmitter programming and had nothing to do with the PE! I ended up using the exact same slots for the 1221 as those I used for the JR 2000 receiver! Thank you for responding and your willingness to help. Bobby

RE: need CG advice on 100cc Yak
I set my Yak up in typical IMAC fashion. Pull to a 45 degree upline, roll inverted then let go of the sticks. If the nose just falls slightly you are perfect. If the nose really drops, you are nose heavy. If the nose pulls up, then you are tail heavy. Let us know how it turns out. Bobby

Whick Power Expander to Use with new JR 12X
Robert, the new JR 12X comes with a R1221 12-ch 2.4 GHz receiver. Which one of your PE/regulators should be used with the R1221? Thank you for responding. Bobby

Can I Use a PE Pro with JR's DSM?
Robert, I am on the backorder list for one of the new JR 12X radio systems. I want to put it into a plane that already has a PE Pro (had a JR 2000 RX in it). Will it be a drop-in replacement for the new DSM JR 1221 RX? Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. Bobby

RE: QQ 102" Yak - Discussion and Build thread
Aris, most guys on this forum that have Yaks say the the distance between the spinner back plate and the cowl lip is about 3/4 to 1 inch. If your standoffs give more than that you may want to consider cutting them off a bit. Boby

Replacement Memory Battery on JR 10X
Danny, it's been 3.5 years since I purchased my 10X. I suppose now is a good time to send it in to Horizon for replacing the memory battery. I do have a couple of questions though. First, should I send the TX in the metal case in the boxes they case came in? Second, will the plane programs be lost when they replace the battery? Thank you for your response. Bobby
