extreme flight 70" extra
need help finding a stronger gear! i fly off grass, i fly in the wind and i like to harrier land. i,m in my 2nd year on the plane with a few hunderd flights. the plane doesn't have a mark on it, but i,m starting my 4th carbon gear! seams like i can't find any aftermarket options. any ideas would be welcome.

RE: aeroworks qb 52
just a quick update. did it grow on me? now, i wouldn.t leave home without it. it ended up being a great trainer for harriers which i could never do well. now every landing is a nose high, zero airspeed touchdown. it really is a great little plane.

RE: Raptor 50 servos - Align DS610?
if your using a govener, that a fast throttle servo is important. align 610's are perfect and a 650 for the tail would also be a good choice. thats my x50 set-up with a 620 for throttle

yes, get rid of the green paddles. they are the light ones for faster responce. get a set of the black ones. there cheep enough.

time to eat a little crow. after a whole bunch of flights, making small changes to throws, expo's and a small warp in 1 aileron, this thing is starting to grow on me. or is it getting used to me? i,m really starting to enjoy flying it. now, the big issue is the torque motor is a little weak in pulling out of a hover. it does it ok, but i would like a little more punch for those low level bailouts.

actually my son is one of the better 3-d guys, he can fly rings around me, and he feels the same way about it.i,ll probably just try to get some $ for it. i,ll never enjoy flying it.i have an older 45" ef extra 300 and it feels locked in, so it,s not me, it's the airframe!

RE: Value of new RTF Raptor 50
i hate to say it as i own 3 raptors, but 500 is closer to the truth. and unless you have a bunch of heli fliers close, you would have to ship it, and someone is going to pay that bill as well.

i have been trying different thing, but so far, i,m not a happy camper with this airframe.it is not at all smooth. my son flew it as well and he is into the 3-d thing. he was also inimpressed.

aeroworks qb 52" extra 260
so, how many are flying? i did a few test flights the other day under brezzy conditions. i did not use the wing plates. the 1st flight had cg issues. after i moved the battery foward, that was fine, but i feel it's a little touchy, even under low rates. does it really need the plates to fly smooth?also needed a bunch of right rudder to climb straight. [torque motor and 12x6] looking for input from people that own/fly them. not knocking it, but i wasn't too impressed [ or is that my over 60 age showing] or am i trying to compare it to my 6 cell extra

this is the 2nd and last plane i buy from them. they never seem to have the spare parts in stock. look at their site and see how many parts for the various planes are on "backorder". i have been waiting for months for a set of blue pants for the 70"extra. when you call it's the same i don't know when answer.

RE: help with throttle responce/curve
yes, and low is off and high is full on. but the responce is not linear. i would think mid stick should be close to 1/2 max rpm. it is not.my high end numbers are where they should be far as amp draw and thrust

help with throttle responce/curve
i,m new to bigger electrics. been flying gas 40% for yrs tho.anyway i have a castle pheonix 100 and a motrofly 4325-380 turning a 20x10 prop. pleanty of power but heres the problem. the throttle is not linear, not even close as far as i can tell.it seams all the power is in the top 1/2 of the stick. i didn,t measure thrust or rpm but current at full is 94 amps and at 1/2 stick it's just 15 amps. ideas? am i missing something in the set-up or do i just use a curve in the transmitter as i do in gas.

RE: exteme flight or 3dhs extra?
i solved my problems.turns out the cost of the 58" extra, plus the servos and batteries comes out almost the same as the 70" extra since i already have the servos and it uses the same batteries as my 550 heli. so the 70" will ship monday. now i need to fine out how long the axi will be on b/o altho i wouldn't need it for a few months.
