screeching noise is timing issues. It's most noticable with a freshly charged pack as the voltage is higher.

My grandmother had Parkinsonism, and toward the end she could barely do anything. Clearing her phlegm was even a chore. I'm glad now that through her new birth, she's able to run, jump, sing, dance, and fly ... and I'd say even go through walls. How cool is that :). At any rate, here's a little video of the 87" SHP to commemorate that. This is definitely one of my all time favorite song, which is why I'd want to share it with you guys. Got a 3rd video of the I90 posted on my web site. Despite my servo centering problem, it still flies great and does some really pretty straight lines (at least my version of it :D). Rich, could you do me a favor? How wide is the fuselage just at the root of the LE? I'm thinking of doing an electric, complete with a sound system, and I would like to know how big of a subwoofer I can fit in there. I just need to know the outer dimension of the width at the LE, since that seems to be the ideal place to mount the speaker :D.

RE: New Fliton Element 30 F3A plane!
I think the power 32 will be a bit longer than the 10XL, so you'll have to make some mods. 4S 2200-3000 is the ticket for this bird.

RE: NEW Fliton Inspire 90 Pattern Plane
What do you mean by "controversy"? Albeit there are less than 100 planes right now in the country, but I think that should change with the next shipment. Please refer back to post #74-79 for pics of the plane in the bone. Though I don't have personal experience with glow on this plane, from evaluating the engineering, you can tell that it will hold up to the glow vibration, IMHO. Now if someone has a glow engine to lend/give to me, I'd be happy to make the transition .. yuk :D.

RE: NEW Fliton Inspire 90 Pattern Plane
It's dual purpose electric - glow. They have a firewall doubler for glow along with a thrust line properly set. IMHO it'd be a perfect match for the OS 120. Any glow engine in the 90-120 2 stroke or 120-180 4 stroke will make this plane a rocket.

Cuban, what I do with the motor cage is to dry fit everything first, then wick a thin CA, followed by med CA. That's IT :D. The motor box held up just fine.

RE: NEW Fliton Inspire 90 Pattern Plane
2200 - 100cc 1900 - Heli 30-90 glow 1500 - 120 glow - 50cc gas 1100 - 25-50 glow Those are just rough estimates. What makes electric more "complex" to someone who's just starting is that everything depends on each other. How powerful your setup is depends on your motor, battery capacity, and battery ratings. How fast your motor turns a specific rpm depends also on the motor's KV (revolution per volt) multiplied by the voltage of the battery. Bottom line is that if you're just starting, then it's a good idea to use a "tried and true" setup. If you want inrunners, try giving Steve Neu at neumotors a call If you want outrunners try giving Ben at 3Dhobbyshop.com a call (830 990 6978). He's a good friend, but more importantly a knowledgeable hobbyist and an honest businessman with superb customer service and flawless ethics. Though he usually flies 3D, he has thorough experience with large conversions to be able to get you the right setup. My motor came from him. I would say that if you were starting from scratch, you'd be better off with an 8S setup (2 x 4S Lipo in the 4000~ mah category wired in series to give you 8S). My line of reasoning with this is because Lipo batts aren't cheap. The more versatility you get out of them, the better off you're going to be. By going this route, you can split your packs and go smaller. 3 great ships in the 25-30E glow category would be the 3DH Aspera Fliton Element EF Vanquish Of the 3, Aspera and Element are dedicated pattern with appropriately sized control surfaces. Vanquish is a hybrid 3D pattern with more oversized control surfaces. This way, when you have the time, you can pull out your I90 and go to the field. What you'll find doing more is taking a quick lunch break / flight session and fly your Aspera / Element in the park :D. Personally speaking, I find outrunners to be more convenient, and probably more glow/gas friendly as you don't have to meddle / worry with the gearbox itself. Reports I've heard / read though with NEU's gearbox is that they are very much trouble free also. Hope that helps. There's a great program, p-calc that can help you get started if you're just toying around with electric power system. It's FREE best of all :). http://brantuas.com/ezcalc/dma1.asp Either way though, the I90 makes a great electric platform, due to its low weight, and easy battery access. Everything about this plane is designed to be E-Friendly... a true hybrid glow/electric.

RE: NEW Fliton Inspire 90 Pattern Plane
In electric (I guess same with glow and gas too, but more so with electric), matching the power system to the airframe is crucial to getting max performance. The power system that Fliton recommends will provide even more power, but it will be considerably heavier also. Mine is definitely on the lighter end of the spectrum. I'm pushing the motor beyond what the recommended specs are. I know I can do it because someone else has done so. The other consideration would be grouping the battery so that you can use it in various application. I have the battery already from my TRex 600, and I know that they are up to it, so I would just need to find the right motor combo that will do the trick. For absolute best performance, geared inrunners are the way to go. Either Hackers or NEU motor will fit the bill just fine. They are generally lighter and more efficient than outrunners... but also more expensive. If money were not a consideration and I'm starting from scratch, I'd probably go with this setup. http://www.neumotors.com/20061222/Fliton%20Models.html Thanks Josh
