RE: HPI Mini Recon
I just got my MR last night and imediately stole the Exceleron 4500KV system out of my Losi Mini SCT. Put it in the Recon.. Running on 2S lipo its sweet. I then put the stock system from it in the mini SCT. which works out too. I felt like the brushless system was too much for the Rear wheel drive SCT. Wheels just spun. No control. But it is perfect in the Recon.. LOVE IT...

Yeah. I always rebuild my diffs with better grease. I use some at the shop on our our trucks i like. Its an associated grease. But hasnt failed me yet. Even have put it in a E-revo brushless, and holds up well. I will check that stuff out though. Thanks

dms88, i am selling my Sprint ESC and motor combo on ebay. Brand new. user name is paulsabo99. 5 hours left. Also, got to take my new EXT2 out for first run at lunch. 3900kv on 2S. WOW... Thing flies. Love it. Super happy we now have metal diffs... Truck handles like a dream too. The wide stance and low clearance. My 4x4 pede doesnt handle well onroad. :)

RE: Aftershock one way bearing issue?
I dont even have the pullstart on there yet. Just putting the backplate on, it fits too tight to the engine. Locks the motor up. The one way is clearly thicker side by side then the one that came out. Both the Losi part, and the Dynamite part are thicker. Still waiting on Losi to get back to me. They are looking into it.

Aftershock one way bearing issue?
Stumped. Guy that comes into the shop regularly has 3 aftershocks. I am the only one who works on them since he got them from us. He brought one in a week ago and the one way bearing was slipping. No big deal. I have the Losi replacement, and the Dynamite replacement on the shelf. Pulled off the Dynamite one, opened the motor (Mach .26), put the new bearing in. Went to put the backplate back on and was like (hugh)... It was going on tight. So i pulled the one way out and looked at it compared to the one i pulled out that is bad. The new one way bearing is a little bit thicker making the backplate not fit tight without locking the motor up. I grabbed the losi one off the shelf, and same thing. Any ideas why the new bearings are thicker, and has anyone else run into this. I am waiting on a reply from a Losi tech. I did notice on their website now when you look up the Aftershock. The Mach .26 is showing a blue head on it instead of the black. So the motor is different now?. Just ordered a new Limited Edition one and sold it at x-mas. It had the black head on it. Makes me wonder if they kept the part numbers the exact same, but the parts are different. I even ordered a new backplate to see if it would work with the thicker bearings with no luck... So again. Stumped..... Any ideas out there?? Thanks for any feedback Paul

RE: Losi Desert Truck POS?
Just sold one a week ago in the store. I put a 3900KV brushless setup in it for the guy. I drove it out back on 2s. FUN truck. I really enjoyed it. Price has gone down due to being discontinued as stated above. Definately a fun truck with a brushless system in it.

Love my AC6 charger and Blue lipos from Hobbypartz.... Where else can you get a great charger and 2-3 lipos for 100 bucks. Never had an issue here. I have about 15+ lipos from them too. Blue Lipo, and also some Sky Lipos. Hard and soft case. Cant go wrong.

RE: thinking of getting a ECX
Its the only ECX truck i would by right now. We get the Circuit and Ruckus returned all the time with bad Receivers, etc. Gonna stop selling them. The torment is nice though. The 2.4 setup makes it better. I wouldnt switch the ESC/motor if it was me. It is descent with what it has. If you are going to sell the stock, go brushless. Dont waste your time/money on the XL5/titan combo.

I am back... :) Got tired of stripping gears on the DT i had. So i sold it and left a while back. I ordered me a Black EXT2 this week. I also ordered a couple for the store. Got all the Brushless upgrades for it, and have a 3900KV brushless setup sitting at home waiting for it. Cant wait. Will be running 2S in it. Got lots of spare 2S packs. Will post up pics of my build and truck when i get time. :)

RE: 3.3 Conversion
You can get the foc online. We have one sitting at our shop that has been there forever. Boss is against online selling. Trying to wear him down. If you start breaking shafts, you can either look for upgraded ones, or switch out the arms, shafts, and whatever else is needed to upgrade to 3.3 shafts. You should be fine though.

RE: 3.3 Conversion
You will be fine... Only issue you would have would maybe be driveshafts. I have converted customers from 2.5 to 3.3, and never had any come back yet with broken parts from the motor that is. Go for it. Get a wheelie bar... :)

RE: New Stampede inbound
Congrats on the purchase. I also have the XL5 version, and the 4X4 vxl version. I honestly wouldnt upgrade anything until its broke. If anything, replace the bushings in the wheels with bearings. Otherwhise put your money towards a good charger and batteries. Some nice wheels and tires, etc. No need to upgrade. The parts are pretty tough. If you break something, upgrade at that point. Thats what i always do, and i rarely have to replace anything. The charger and batteries will be the best thing for you. Bearings 2nd.. Have FUN.....

RE: Monster Jam Stampede reviews
I am a RC tech at our local hobby store. The Ruckus gets brought back to us a lot. They have issues with the ESC. It burns up. If you send it in, they replace it with a duratrax one. Weird, but they do. If you can find a roller and put a different esc/motor combo in, then it would be good. Otherwhise. PEDE all the way.

RE: Stampede Brushless 4X4
I got the Pede fixed last night. I did lower the suspension on it to straighten out the shafts. It does look like it will be a lot easier on the output yokes for sure. The suspension was way to soft for my liking still though. I put some 80 weight shock oil in the stock shocks and cut down some of my stock Savage springs i had laying around. MUCH better. Nice and stiff now, but still gives when needed. I took it out late last night with my Slash sheels and tires on it and ran it on the concrete, and in the grass. No issue on that run, and seemed much better now. I think i found the perfect setup for me. :)

RE: Stampede Brushless 4X4
I wondered about lowering it. If that would help with the Shafts breaking. I am actually going to do that tonight. I am putting some aluminum adjustable shocks on it. I just need to run and get some shock oil. The 30 weight thats in them is way too thin. Would bottom out a lot.

RE: Stampede Brushless 4X4
I run 2S in mine. I wouldnt go 3S unless your planning on dropping 100+ for MIP, or Tekno driveshafts. 3S will constantly break the stockers. I break them on 2S quite a bit. Otherwhise tough truck. As long as you get a 2S or 3S 20C or 40C pack, it will fit. The truck comes with battery strap to fit lipos. No problem here. I get mine from Hoppypartz. I am running 2S 40C 5000 MAH Blue Lipo. Work great. Cheap. I get about 30-45 min runtime on this battery. Also, my 2 cents. Stay away from the other junk and just get the Pede or slash 4x4. You will be happy you did. I have no issues at all with it other than listed above.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
I gave up on my brushless setup in my DT. I ate another tranny up last night. I am now selling my CC Sidewinder SCT 3800kv combo. I put my stock motor and esc back in it. Its not too bad on 2S. Has some speed to it still. I will be putting a Titan 12T and XL5 ESC in it eventually. I got me a Stampede 4x4 now. So i am done battling with the evader. If the Metal Diff works out good like posted here, I will buy it and i might go back brushless. I still love the Evader DT. Duratrax just needs to step up a lil on the tranny..

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
I may still be interested if they are proven durable. Not really wanting to drop out 50 for it, unless i know it will handle well. If you can get some videos posted, or something showing how durable it is, i would definately have it on my buy list. Once my current one goes that is. I dont replace things usually unless they are broke. I see some people who fork out money for builds before they even run the truck. Waste in my book. Why replace something costly that might never break. Just my 2cents... Thanks for the initiative though. Definately. I am still interested. :)
