Hyper 7 L
On the chasis of my hyper, it's stamped " HYPER - 7 L " I've googled it but can't find anything. What does it mean? Anyone know. I kinda assume it's an extended chasis, but I don't know.

Well it does it with all my RX's. I've put 4 different ones in it and still the same problem.

RE: servo twitching problems
Oh, and none of my rc's have ever been in water or mud so I don't think them getting wet could be the problem. Like I said, I took the FM Rx straight out of the Genesis and put it right back in my hyper and took it out and ran it with no servo twitching at all. So it seems like it's definetly something about my Genesis my TX / RX's don't like.

RE: servo twitching problems
Yes, my other cars are nitros too, and the servos don't twitch at all when I have any of my tx / rx in them. Could the chasis itself on the Genesis cause interference? And if so, how could it cause interference on both AM and FM?

servo twitching problems
I just recently got a Cen Genesis .46 LE I purchased used here on RCU. Now, It came with the AM TX / RX and as soon as I turn it on, the servos will twitch, I don't even have to touch the trigger or steering wheel, all I have to do is wave it around in the air and the servos twitch. All 3 servos twitched. So, I put my Futaba 3PM FM in it and it did the same thing. Not quite as bad as the AM, but still when I crank it up the throttle servo will twitch worse than the others. I have 4 different Tx & Rxs and the servos twitch with all of them. I'm at a loss here. Some people I've talked to they say I'm getting interference from something, now I don't know why that would be cause I can turn around and put the Rx back into any of my other cars and they work fine. So, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Genesis .46
I just recieved my Genesis yesterday that I purchased used here on RCU. Now, I got the manual with it, but nowhere in the manual does it tell me what glow plug to use. Cold, medium, hot? I have no idea. The truck itself is barely broken in. It looks like it just came out of the box, but I know I need to change the glow plug. Any help would be appreciated.

High torque servo question
Hey guys. I just recently bought a Cen Genesis .46 LE used here on RCU. It's to my understanding that the stock steering servo is fairly underpowered. I think the specs say it's somewhere around the 144oz range. That seems like a pretty good amount of torque to me, but from what I've read in the reviews, the huge tires on this truck are still almost too much for the servo. So, I've been looking at several online hobby shops, and haven't found any servos that are much higer in torque. So, can anyone give me any suggestions on some high torque servos that would be over the 200oz range? Thanks.

RE: Looking to get a new buggy. Input greatly appreciated!
I agree, the hyper 7 is the way to go. I've had mine since march and ( knock on wood ) I haven't broken one single part on the whole car....seriously.....and I've been beating it fairly regularly. Of course I have several upgrades throughout the car, such as carbon fiber and aluminum, but still for the money, your not gonna get a more dependable buggy.

RE: Good 1/8 buggies for $300?
I have the hyper 7 with an axial .28 spec 1s mounted in it. And I tell you, you won't find a more durable buggy. Yes, I have several upgrades on it, such as carbon fiber upper plate, and aluminum throughout, but still, I have beaten the ever living crap out of it for several months now, and ( knock on wood ) I haven't broken one single part on the whole buggy.....seriously..... I would put my hyper against any of the more expensive brand buggys out there, and I would be more than confident that it will out bash all of them.....

RE: Buying a new Engine
Ok, I have the axial .28 spec 1s in my hyper 7, and yes, it is a beast. It's very east to tune, and is one of the most reliable engines I've delt with so far. It starts within a couple seconds every time withe the roto start. But keep in mind, if the sandstorm has thin dogbones, a plastic spur gear, and not so strong diffs, then yes, the axial .28 will tear your car to shreds......it's a MT engine to begin with, it wasn't designed for a buggy. It has tons of torque, witch means the drive train of any R/C it is mounted in will most definetly recieve some serious abuse. If your thinking of purchasing the axial, then by all means do so, you can't get a better engine for the price, but keep in mind, you will have to adapt your buggy to accept the extra abuse.

I hear ya on the boat. It's been raining here like twice a week for the last 2 months or so, but thankfully we get some really pretty days too, so I guess it evens out. Say, by the way, would anyone happen to know the part # for the rear body posts for the tsunami? I thought I ordered the right ones, but when they came in they were for the tremor, and I haven't been able to find any others on Redcat's website or any redcat dealers websites either. Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Help Needed Please
Yes, Your diffs can go in two different ways. You have to pay attention to the direction the spur turns your drive shafts. Then set the diffs so the pinion gears turn the diffs in the same direction together. That's the only way possible for your front and rear to turn in different directions.

RE: New to buggies, but not nitro RC. Question
I agree, the OFNAs are awesome. I've had my hyper 7 for a couple of months now, and I haven't broken a single part ( knock on wood....lol...) but I would definetly recomend it to anyone. Oh by the way...djzachtyler, I have the axial .28 scec 1s in my hyper 7, and believe me, it's all the power you'll ever need. Heck the .28 is over kill actually, it'll spin all 4 tires like crazy. I really wouldn't recomend the .32. it'll drink fuel like crazy and you'll spin out like crazy too. It's hard to keep my buggy going straight, actually I'm thinking about putting my largest reducer in the carb to drop the low end take off a little.

RE: Redcat Racing Tsunami Thread
What's up guys!!!!! I know it's been a while since I posted here. I've had alot going on. Well I decided to keep my tsunami for a while, but I think the little VX is running on it's last leg. I've about polished off my 9th gallon through it, and I've definetly noticed a huge loss in power over the last couple gallons or so. I'm having to run it extremely rich on the HSN and extremely lean on the LSN just to get any kind of RPMs out of it. Plus I've noticed theres fuel pooling up on the HSN now and virtually no compression. So I think I'm gonna have to use redcat's warranty and upgrade to the SH. I was going to go with a O.S .18 but, due to me being laid off of my job, I'm gonna have to go with the cheapest route and that's gonna be the redcat warranty. Plus now I'm having to keep up two r/cs now and I just dropped a axial .28 in my hyper 7. Well anyway, just thought I'd drop a line and give yall an update on what's been happening with me. So what's up with you guys?????????

I have the hyper 7 tq sport, is there a hyper 7.5? Cause I've only heard of the 8.5, the 9.5 violator, and of course the hyper 9. Anyway unless you have the money for one of these, I'd stick with the hyper 7 tq.

RE: Twisted
I've always heard from my lhs guys ( and they seem to know what they're talking about ) that BB engines, especially .28 and up. Are known to run well above average temps. I have a hyper mach .28 6 port and an axial .28 spec 1s and both of them run around the 300F range, and they run great. I've never had a problem and they seem to hold their tune and just flat out perform awesome. Just tune to performance, how it's running will tell you more than the temp guage. As long as you have some descent smoke and it's running how you want it, then don't worry about it. No engine lasts forever, so get what you can out of it while you can.

RE: Upgrading To New Engine
The O.S CVRX .18 will give you all the power you need. If you went to a larger engine ( other than the traxxas ones ) your gonna have to do a pretty good deal of modifying to fit a BB engine in a volcano. I know, I have the tsunami ultrawide and I've looked at other engines to upgrade to, and so far the CVRX is the one I'm mostly drawn to. The BB like .21s and .25s and larger are gonna require you to completely rearrange your entire drive train. Yes it can be done, but your gonna have to work for it. The O.S .18 CVRX should just drop in and offer more power than your stock drive train will probbably be able to handle. You will break dogbones much more often, and you'll definetly wear out your drive cups in no time and don't forget your diff gears. So, if your gonna be adding power to a volcano, make sure your ready to do the upgrades to the drive train to handle all that extra power. But it'll be fun working on it and fixing it too. So anyway that's my 2 cents.

Yeah, the engine overall has tons of power. I'm still running mine a little on the rich side till I finish off the first gallon, then I'll lean it out some more. I can't wait to see how it'll run then.

That's just it, it didn't break while I was pulling on it. It broke while it was running. I found the handle laying in the driveway. But the good news is, I was able to fix it. But I still don't know what the reducers are for that came with the engine.

RE: nitro noob needs help
As long as you kept the top on the bottle, and you stored it in a cool dry place out of sunlight, it should be good. As far as your car, try spraying some WD-40 down in the cylinder and turn it over a few times then turn the car over and flush all the access WD-40 out before putting the glow plug back in. Then heat the engine up with a hair dryer and it should start.
