RE: Thunder Tiger MTA4 S28 problems
The high speed needle may be too lean. Keep an eye on the position of the needle, it may be moving on you. If it is, the o-ring on the needle will need to be replaced.

The stock AE .28 in the MGT 4.6 is a Thunder Tiger engine.

RE: Switched from Traxxas top fuel 20% to Byrons 30%
I think it's mainly from not having such a high oil content. I noticed a big difference going from 20% Top fuel to Trinity Monster Horsepower 20% also. Like you mentioned, runs better, runs cooler, easier to tune, and the 1-way for the starter doesn't slip like it did before.

RE: i keep burning glowplugs
Check the connecting rod for play at the piston pin or crank. My Mach .26 got over revved from not going into 2nd and started going thru a plug before I could get a tank of fuel thru it. It ended up having play at the piston pin. I replaced the rod and pin and its been fine since.

The electric stampede still uses 12mm hexes for front and rear. The only difference between front and rear is the offset.

RE: New Losi LST XXL!!
I like the radio and the fact that the LST2s will be cheaper now. I personally don't care for the longer wheelbase. To me that just means it can't turn as tight on the track.

RE: Kyosho USA-1 compatible chassis?
Ya, the usa-1 was hard to get parts for even before it was discontinued. I haven't had any steering hubs break on mine. The things that broke the most on mine was the dogbones and the wheel axle shaft would spin inside the plastic cup the dogbones go in. Once those were upgraded then I started tearing up the trans gears - on to the next weakest link. You can make your own chassis pretty easy with 2 plates of aluminum or carbon fiber with some aluminum stand offs to connect the plates. Then you can use a bell crank steering setup, similar to a maxx truck instead of that sliding piece.

Put the LST performance kit (also called the LST2 kit) on it, get good tires for the track you are going to run on, get a better pipe, and get the dynamite engine support brace for starters.

RE: Factory Tracks Raceway MT racers
I saw one at FTR, it was about 5-6" long and had a hex shape to the shaft part. It looked like the ends may have been held on the shaft with set screws or something. I asked Al H. about it and he said that had been there awhile, so I'm not sure if it's yours or not. I set it on the table by the monitor just down from pit lane. It didn't look broke or anything.

No prob Jake, glad I could help. As for the MT frustrations, ummm ya. I realize you have to be patient with a new and especially a young driver, but that kid was a rolling kamikaze out there. His dad really needs to work with him during a race day even if that means that his dad sits out some races. And now for [link=http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-482731097904126834&hl=en]the Slash vid[/link].

RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27?
For some reason my temp gun doesn't read accurately when checking boiling water, unless water boils at 172 deg F lol. I think it has something to do with that emisitivity setting (or whatever it's called) being different.

Ya, round 2 when Al H. was running your truck. As for how tough they are, they are built off the same platform as the rustler and stampede, so their durability doesn't surprise me too much knowing what my trucks have gone thru.

RE: ultra copper gasket high temp rtv for engine sealing
You don't want to put RTV on your needles cause once you move the needles to tune your engine it will break free. Not to mention it would clog up the carb. Green slime is the best for needle o-rings.
ORIGINAL: Savage462k1 I remember I read somewhere people saying you can seal your engine with some copper high temp RTV gaskets. I a tube of [link=http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-81878-Sensor-Ultra-Copper/dp/B0002UEOPA/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1222744525&sr=1-17]Permatex 81878 #101 Sensor Safe Ultra Copper Hi Temp RTV[/link] from Walmart, the temp is up to 371 C, or 700 F. Oxygen sensor safe, non corrosive, and oil resistance. But it also says "not recommended for use on head gaskets or parts in contact with gasoline." Is this the stuff I need to seal the engine backplate, crab, and such ?
Not sure about sealing a crab with it lol, but that's what I use for the back plates and carbs. You shouldn't use it on head gaskets. If the head gasket is leaking, get a new one.
