RCEEBUILDER Are you going to do a full build on this thread? Looks like it could be a nice project. I would like to see the end result. Is this company available in the USA?

RE: Which would you rather build on?
TinmanJones I always like to build on float glass using weights and also use the flat steel plate on top of the glass using magnets. I also use those sticky notes of various sizes for mixing epoxy as they stay put when you are trying to get a dab or a dob on your applicator and then when hardened you just toss in the trash.

RE: Auto Darkening glasses? Pro's vs Con's
I have to use tri-focals for glasses. So I wear a summer outback hat with a three inch brim for cloudy and semi cloudy days. But when the skies are blue and the sun is in full force I switch to single lens photo grays. I never notice the transition and I am always able to keep focused on the model. I really like them as my eyes don't feel strained and dry. I can't see close up to read or work with small parts so I just switch back to the tri-focals and do what I have to and put the photo grays and my hat back on and onto somemore flying.

RE: Old Sterling Stearman PT-17 kit
Well I went ahead after much thought and patience and bought a RCV 60-SP because of it's weight and length plus it's abilities. I will use an APC 15x12W propeller and concentrate on safe weight reduction of the plane.

RE: Sterling PT-17
Greeting Sterling Stearman PT-17 fans Years ago I bought the Stearman on "wee say" and I have a complete kit in good condition. Needless to say it sat with others. I got a research bug acouple of times and awhile ago came across RCPILOT78's pictures of his beautiful Stearman. I would open the pictures up and stare and think how wonderful this plane can be built. Well I came across this thread and have also pulled out the box and started planning. I would like to lighten this plane as safely as possible as I see some have worked with the servo tray or plywood parts. I intend to use a RCV 60-SP with a 15x12W prop at I believe 5350 rpm. I have to work out the 7 cylinder radial dummy engine and have some ideas, but would appreciate any other inputs to help my build.

Old Sterling Stearman PT-17 kit
Please if you can help. What RCV engine should I use in an old Sterling Stearman PT-17 biplane kit I am building? Wingspan is 65 1/2 inches and length is 50 inches. The suggested engine size from the plans are a 2-stroke .56 to .65. I am sorry but I don't have the weight of the plane. I was looking at the RCV 90 SP to sort of hide the power plant and expose more of the dummy engine, but I was afraid of the prop selection maybe to large? I hope someone is familiar with this oldy but goody as I would really like to use a RCV and utilize the smaller dimensions.

RE: My thoughts on the Spektrum incidents...
To all please Are 3 wire voltage regulators used in any of these receivers that are going into bind or loosing their link? Are the 3 wire voltage regulators plugged into the battery connection and not another port? Last but not least is it possible for a 3 wire voltage regulator under certain load, no load condition to spike, if that is a proper term for my question, and cause the receiver to go into bind mode, locking the system up?

jonlowe It weighs 6.83 lbs. on the digital scale. I am 1.13 lbs. over the reccomendation. Looks like Neanderthal Brickhead build tank plane. But I probably don't know any better as this is the first plane I have flown that flies like it is on rails and is smoothly responsive. I know the community can do alot better then I, as I put on an ultimate spinner with it's nut hardware. Larger

RE: Kyosho Osmose 70, Sort of build thread (slow..)
Thinn Finally finished the Osmose 70. Using a Saito 82a and a Perry VP-20 pump, four DS821 servos for ailerons, rudder and elevator with a HS81 for throttle. I centered the fuel tank and changed the elevator, rudder and throttle installation. The battery, a five cell, 6v, is just rear of the wing. I am using a 6v regulator. Flys hands off with the CG at 215mm.

RE: Zen120 vs SwallowEx90
mswify Gentleman. Are there not other choices for the .91 as the Swallow wing span to length seem more 3D then pattern and the .91 is to small for the Zen 120? Would the Zen 90 be more suitable? What about the LEO 110 with the OS .91. Here is a youtube link of a Leo 110 flight with an OS .91 four stroke. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgsrzYJCD7o

RE: Kyosho Osmose 70, Sort of build thread (slow..)
Thinn
Also, I found out that although the CG is “Spot on between the recommended positions, it is way too nose heavy for me. It really dives in inverted flight. It tended to really work its way to the left in all top vertical manoeuvres, but I’m guessing a bit of tweaking on side thrust will sort this out, at least to some extent.
When I read your flight report, I had to think, maybe I should put the fuel tank center on the center of gravity. What do you think?

RE: Pattern Planes for YS-63S?
Thinn had a nice build thread on an Osmose 70 pattern plane from Kyosho using a YS-63 and a good flying report at the end. I bought the Osmose 70 and am impressed with the quality, but I am using a Saito 82 with a VP-20 Perry pump. I have to finish it yet so I have no personal opinion at this time but was impressed with Thinn's results.

RE: New LEO 110 build
Captin1 Thanks Captin1 and Thanks to G.W. for helping me maiden the Zen 30. It sure was great to see the plane pass by straight and level after doing the trims. I was shaking from nerves. But I am happy using the 2.4 GHz transmitter with the short antenna. If I was using the longer antenna I would have looked like I was jigging for fish. :) It was cold out there and noticed that after awhile, but I was creating my own heat from vibrating. The Zen 30 is a nice little bugger. Again Thanks Bob

PA, I don't think it's going to be any time soon. Keep up the good work. Hope it flies as nice as it looks. I think you have a winner.
