What Oil based clear do you use? Assuming you do not dilute it.

RE: ESM F6F Hellcat Info?
Looking good Bubba Bobby! Im sure you will get the power plant sorted. WEird that TBM would sell an engine like that as new. Very strange. Did they give a time that new units would be coming in? Hope oyu wont have to wait too long. Man that Latex laid down really nice. What did you thin it with? Wont gas eat it up? Great color match! Will be looking real sharp with the graphics applied.

RE: ESM F6F Hellcat Info?
Bubba Bobby, what is going on with the pte36? Don't think you can go wrong with the DLE 35 ra if Troy built refunds. Never had any experience with the PTE however. I'm sure TBM will get this resolved for you ASAP. Great bunch of guys. Looking good in primer. Can't wait for the final paint. What is being provided for decals? Glad to hear Sierra came through. New they would. You are on short final now. Can't wait to see it all done. Bubba

RE: ESM F6F Hellcat Info?
Bubba Bobby, no idea why the radio silence from Sierra. Thought they were one of the most dependable companies. I would keep trying, something has to be going on there. Will the PTE spina a 18 inch 3 blader? Not sure it will. Paint!!!! Cant wait to see it being laid down. Forward, onward, upward!!!

RE: Help wth CMP 50cc Zero PLEASE
I must say too that the Brisson pulls that zero like a rocket. Normal flying was done at 1/2 throttle. WOT is awesome. Landing is straight forward. Half flaps put the zero in a bit of nose up attitude and slowed the plane very nicely. This plane is highly recommended.

RE: Li ION Packs
Craig and Hoosier06, Thansks for the information. Yes they are Li Ion packs. Show 8.4 fully charged. Did a discharge cycle on rx pack last night at 1 amp. Took quite a while to get pack to 7.3 volts. Dedied to stop there on a whim as I did not know the safe stopping level. is 7volts the safe minimum for cell damage protection or because the pack will not power properly after that level? Appreciate the help!!! Bubba

Li ION Packs
Sorry if this has been asked before but I cant find info on my needs. I reciently bought a plane that has 2800 Li Ion packs with regs for ignition and RX. THe packs are pretty much contructed into the plane where I can not get them out. The packs are showing fully charged at 7.2 volts and with my futaba battery tester set at 1 amp per fromenco's direction. My real question is how can I test the time that they should power the needs of the plane. I have a hitec multi chrger and this can discharge li ion packs at 1 amp. So I just start a discharge cycle and see how long it will go? How low to take the packs voltage wise is safe? does the dischage plan simulate in a proper manner the loads put on the pack 10 servos? This is for a warbird so Im got hovering or doing all out hucking. Would apprecaite any information some one could toss my way. Thanks!!! Bubba

Service Turn Around
Purchased a new Futaba 10cg(a) from Tower. Got the radio 8/14 and the same day noticed setting up a 1/4 scale warbird that one switch was not functioning. First thought was to call Tower and get a RMA and have them ship a new unit out. After some pondering, called Futaba Service. Was told that turn around from receipt of radio was 3 days. I realize that the 3 days are repair days not repair and reship. Decided to send in brand new radio to service and they were even kind enough to send a prepaid UPS label. Ground UPS took a bit more than a week and the radio was received 8/22 at Futaba service. Work order now says estimated compeltion time is 9/3/12. Clicking on work order shows comments from tech that parts were replaced and evaluated. Does the 9/3 date include shipping time back to me? Feeling a bit angry about my purchase. 3 1/2 weeks from purchase I hope to get my new radio back provided the 9/3 date is a shipping ETA estimate. I have used futaba gear exclusively for more than 27 years. Maybe I am just mad at myself for not returning the unit to Tower. However, I would have hoped that the turn around estimate would have been accurate given that my unit is BRAND NEW and that QA at the factory would be more stringent.

Retracts for ESM Hellcat
Hi y'all. Been pulling my hair out and having fits of joy and rage trying to find Electric retracts for the ESM Hellcat 72". Ordered up a complete package from Troy built (after not going with the 50cc BF109 as retracts will not be in until december for that bird, Folk Wulf retracts disappearing from their site when I was going to order) after seeing every tthing in stock for the Hellcat. The Hellcat is a little small in span for my liking, but I have heard good things about it. Anyway, order confirmation and shipping confirmation from Troy Built and no retracts. 3-6 weeks best case. Im thinking its gonna be longer as ESM will be producing gear for their more popular planes first. So, I go to another site and order. YES, in stock. Do a jig of joy. Email support. YES shipping confirmation. Cart wheels thru my office. Wait 3 days for delivery, get email saying they are actually out of stock. Tears!! Sobbing. Breaking things( not really). This process repeats one more time before posting here. Lado? I cant find anything for the EMS Hellcat. Robart, they are not releasing their electronic gear yet. Air system from sierra? Nice gear but with air kit and wheels plus legs and the cost really adds up plus all that pumping. Anyone got any ideas for a electric retract system that I wont have to bash to make it fit? Vendors? At this point all I care about is that the retracts are not older than version 2. Appreciate any help offered.

Fuji BT-32 B Magneto
Hi, I have a Fuji BT-32B that I have never started. Never started a magneto engine before. Flipped and flipped but no ignition. Checked the magneto gap to specs and it is set at .5mm as directed. Is there a way to check if the mag is giving any power to the plug? Dont have a powered starter as my other engines are battery ignition and easily start by hand flipping. I got this engine installed in a Giant Scale Super Chipmonk that I bought from a hobby store that was going out of business for a very low price. All is great on the plane but cant get the damn engine to fire. Think the engine is new and has never been never started. Appreciate any ideas on this. Thanks.

RE: Futaba FASST using a JR retract servo
i know this is late but I too was just having this problem after not flying for a couple years. hangar 9 p47 150. Futaba 6ex, R606fs RX, 2700mah 6v flight pack. AS built to plans the retract servos are the jr low profile retracts. From searching, found that these retracts do not operate on voltage over 4.8. Got a couple futaba step down regulators and hooked them up to the servos. Still no joy. Then I purchased a new futaba RX and the retracts work great with the step downs in place. odd but im happy I can get it flying on my 2.4 system and not have to use my 72mhz. There has to be something with the older R606fs RX's. Futaba support said there was no reason why these would not work and really did not answer my question if 72mhz RX's lowered voltage to the servos to 4.8volts. Would still like to know this. I am thinking this is the case as there is no reason why it would work witht he 72's and not the 2.4 systems. would appreciate feedback on this if anyone cares to.

RE: DLE 55 Crank Broke in Flight
I little JB weld would have had that thing back in the air in 20 minutes........Ok, sorry bad joke. Sorry to hear this happened. Could they possible say that the shaft extension was the cause and deny warranty? Have heard lot of good things on these engines and want to put one in a plane that will need the extension.

RE: RealFlight 6 & Mac
Yes, I run Realflight on my mac in bootcamp and windows vista. Macs have the "same" chip set as pc's now (provided you are not using a legacy mac). Runs real nice. No problems with sound or connections with realflight. Iknow of no reason why running realfight on a mac book would be different than my imac, except screen size.
