What does this screw do on a OS 120 surpass 4 stroke?
I bought a used Surpass and there is tiny screw with a spring on it, it looks like it unscrewed itself in shipping ..I found the hole on the carb that it goes into but what does it do and how many turns out from fully closed should I make it...By the way its not the high idle nor low idle screws, their both intact(neither of them has a spring on it anyway)....Someone at the field told me it was a engine governor screw, someone else told me it was to adjust the carb opening??

My engine is mounted inverted and the tank is about 1 1/2 inches above the carb spray bar and there is no way to get it lower so if thats the problem Im screwed..Would installing a perry VP 20 oscillating pump help or something of that nature?

RE: Cant hold idle on O.S. surpass 4 stroke
Thanks for your responses : ), its a 120 surpass without pump...I tried 3 new F plugs and adjusted high end and low low end per different recommendations, I went out this evening and tried what you guys suggested and it still is quite erratic...I seem to find the sweet spot where its running nice with the glow plug on but when I take it off the engine drops its rpm alot, I increase the throttle to try to keep it running but it sputters and runs like crap alternating between spitting out alot of smoke to no smoke....I play with the low speed screw when its doing this but when I think I have the sweet spot, the engine just doesn't seem to want to stay there for more then a few seconds

Cant hold idle on O.S. surpass 4 stroke
I bought this engine used and it just won't hold idle with the glow plug driver removed, it sputter and quits...I tried everything...put new glow plugs in, took off and cleaned carb, fresh fuel, shortened fuel lines from tank to engine, adjusted low speed needle valve every which way...I'm ready to order a new carb, could something be screwed up in the engine itself? RE: Parkzone NEW Messerschmitt Bf-109G PNP and BNF
The 109 taxis and flys totally different then the T-28, it requires faster landing speeds and is alot more sqirrelly like my gas warbirds....It definetely is no way near a begginer aircraft in my opinion

My review of the new parkzone ME-109
Absolutely beautiful looking plane, better looking then my parkzone T-28 but it flys very squirrely...My first flight I applied full power almost immediately to try to get it off my grass field before it nosed over...it did a wicked left roll and crashed...Fixed her up and this time took off from a paved road with gradual throttle increase...The plane wanted to turn to the right on the ground but when it took off it did that wicked roll to the left but I was ready and applied full right airlerons...It flew fast and squirrely, I put flaps on it but it still has to land pretty fast...This plane doesn't fly at all like my parkzone T-28 and should be left to pilots with tail dragger warbird experience in my opinion

ALWAYS start your plane at idle speed
There is no reason on a properly tuned engine to start it at even 1/8th throttle, for safetys sake please start at idle...( I won't go into the 3 fingers cut off story)

I don't like the look of the landing gear, looks a bit flimsy and I doubt it will last more than one landing....One thing I absolutely hate is landing gear that bends, alot of manufactores put very little thought into their gear,

RE: Top Flite P47 ARF
The top flite p-47 arf is a tank, its the most solidly built and strongest arf I own(the landing gear is rock solid) but you pay for it in weight..9.5 to 10.5 pounds for a 60 size is a bit high...I have the o.s. 91 surpass in it and had to add alot of nose weight bringing mine to about 10 pounds..In my opinion the plane is underpowered with this engine, a 120 would be much better on a 10 pound plane(your still going to have to add a bit of nose weight)

RE: BH Models T-28 120 ARF Build?
I have the 60 size BH trojan and it is a nice plane for the money but it does have its problems like landing gear that bends just by taxiing and super thin wood that cracks just by handling it..For close to 500 bucks I expect to have landing gear thats solid and a stronger build on the airframe..

RE: BH T-28 CG way off
I'm talking about the 60 size BH trojan...total wing width at leading edge of wing (not bulkhead)near fusalage is 31cm, 25% of that is 7.7cm...I don't know how the hell they get the CG as being 105mm in the manual..I had a CMP 50 size zero that had the same problem, stated 105mm in the manual and I cracked it up in the first flight(wicked tail heavy)...80-85 mm was were it was supposed to be

BH T-28 CG way off
I finally got the CG correct on my trojan, it was really tail heavy at 105mm (as per manual)..was totally uncontrollable...I dropped it down to 95mm and it was still pretty bad at take off, at 85mm it takes off and flys great....Anyone else have this problem?

RE: BH t-28 trojan maiden problems
I bought the plane used without servos and engine off the rc classifieds and the guy said he flew it like 10 times, I asked if the CG in the manual was right( I had problems with other planes before) ..he said it flew great at the exact CG in the manual...I used the same downthrust angle he had on the plane,...I don't know whats going on with it, I'll move the CG ahead a bit and see what happens...I still think with all that elevator he overcontrolled it

BH t-28 trojan maiden problems
I went out today and had an instructor maiden my trojan, it didn't go well...It has a O.S. 91 4 stroke with a 65 inch wing...The instructor did the taxi test and all looked good, then he went for take off...This thing shot straight and it was hard as hell to control, it hovered over the pit area and everyone was runnin for cover...He finally got it back to the field where it crashed into a fence (minor damage)...You might say its tail heavy but its balanced at 4 1/4 from the leading edge like the manual says...I even made it a bit nose heavy...The instuctor did increase the travel on the elevator throw by a hell of alot before the flight ( He said he likes alot of elevator, I don't)...I think he might have over controlled it , what do you guys think?

I didn't say anything about everyone at the field should build for my enjoyment, some of you need to get that knot out of your panties and take a chill pill or something..I'm merely stating that there seems to be a lack of variety..I don't care what ya fly but variety is the spice of life as they say, try a FW-190 or a Cesna kit..break away from the pack..: )

My club must be the oddball, you guys have some interesting aircraft..I'm like the only one who flys scale stuff...Heres some pics of my p-47, It was originally the bubble top version but I changed it into a razorback using plywood and aluminum, It was a pain in the arse but I don't think it turned out too bad...I hated the bubbletop, looked like the plane grew a boil on its back

All I see is boring planes and boring helicopters
Everytime I go to the field I see the same cookie cutter boring planes (Yaks, Extras and sticks), their a dime a dozen now and its getting old, Its worse with the copters, everyone has the same bike helmut design.. Its very rare I see a scale plane or chopper, a Huey or a p-47 Thunderbolt would be nice to see once in a while...I think many flyers are a bit scared to fly scale...OPINIONS?
