RE: Composite-Arf 33% Gee Bee R2 - First Flight - Pics - Videos - L@@K
Thanks RichardGee I'm going to go over the plane and check everthing you recommended. I flew it 9 times last year and didnt notice an problem at the time. I nosed over on the 9th flight and broke the top of the tail. Its been repaired but.... i almost beleve my rudder cables need to be tighten and i've never flown with and thrttle/ rudder mix.

Can anyone help me. My comp Arf gee bee has a DLE 170 with a 30x12 prop. It weighs 33.4lbs. I have a major torque or p-factor problem. When I turn left or right it is difficult to get the plane to make the turn with out pitching up or staying in a knife edge. Should there be a gyro on the rudder or should I get use to this characteristic. Am I doing something wrong.

I am reducing weight on my Gee Bee. I plan to cut some of the balsa out of the front of the rudder to possibly reduce more weight. Can anyone tell me weather this will have a negative affect on the plane. Would air rush into the front of the rudder and cause a problem.

RE: ANOTHER COMP ARF SPITFIRE
Flyingchef, the detail your putting into your spit...... i dont have words for. The flaps are really nice. I decided to use dbalsa formers and walls for my cockpit along with the aeroscale cockpit fro my other spit. As for the kelco exhaust, i decided not to use the canister. I cut the firewall to fit the wrap around pitts i already had for my 3W85xi. I am going to use the kelco exhaust stacks and try running some tubing to them from the pits muffler. I hope it dont hinder the performance of the engine. I'll just have them on for a scale look, just no functional.

RE: Comp ARF Spitfire build
Hi I am building a Comp arf spit with a 3w 85xi for the motor. Can anyone tell me if i should mount the motor with right thrust or just put it directly to the firewall centerline. When i mount centerline it appears as if the motor have left thrust with the cowl on. Also I have a keleo creations exhaust i'm not sure if i want to use. Wondering if it will be a significant loss of power.

RE: ANOTHER COMP ARF SPITFIRE
@ flyingchef. I really like the cockpit on your spit. Really Really nice! I a uilding my second comp arf spitfire. I'd really like to detail the cockpit like yours. 1.) How did you get the rivtos on the foam former. 2.) What method do you use to measure the formers to make them fit in the fusealage perfect.. 3.) The walls are curved what material did you use. 4.) your seat is really nice. Id like to send mine to denver warbirds who would be the contact. Also I have a 3W 85xi and keleo scale exhaust. My last spit crashed. I did not like the high pitch sound with the keleo canister. I was thinking of running the manifold straight to the stacks without the canister. I know it will be louder i dont care about noise. Do you think i would loose power or stay the same.

RE: Composite-Arf 33% Gee Bee R2 - First Flight - Pics - Videos - L@@K
@ hannes83: right now my CG is 75mm. The plane weighs 36.5 lbs and I desire to remove 2 to 2.5 lbs from the plane by moving my rudder servo all three switchs ( 2 battery and 1 ignition switch) and reciever forward. I think this will allow me to take alot of weight off the firewall. I hope to get a little more speed, and reduce landing speed by reducing wing load. What do you think?

Hey wow! I am doing so C.G. changes on my Comp Arf Gee. So I decided to look on a forum and too my surprise someone posted my video of me flying on here cool. The Gee Bee has a DLE 170, Biela 30x12 prop, all Hitec 5645 MG servos. You can use more powerful servos but i think its over kill. This plane FC/CA has been around for a while and there werent any 333 oz servos around that I know of. Thanks for posting the video rowdog.
