RE: Official Mini-T Thread
ha, that IS a heli ESC... i'd assume you'd program it the same way too.

RE: Spending around a Grand then out of hobby ;(
right now im just flying the summer, where i go to college it is too windy for a 450 heli. but if you need the cash then i guess this is one way to go at it. how much did you end up getting for the setup?

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
hmm, with the rc18 one, i just shimmed the motor back so the pinion was closer to the mount and meshed with the spur. also, make sure the threads are clean before you re-loctite or the stuff just wont work. i tried the plastic ones with my bl and they came right off within a second of throttle.

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
i use a metal pinion for the rc18 with the set screw and a plastic spur gear.

trex 450 ESC
Ok, well my ESC no longer arms, it beeps once and thats all she wrote. Is it the ESC? or something else that isn't working? I have crashed and slightly damaged some wiring, but repaired it last year and it has been fine all this year. I'm wondering if its worth getting a new one? if so which ones are good to use with the stop se v2 motor? thanks alot.

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
heh, i'm having EZrun ESC issues. currently my car does not go backwards on command, but if i let it idle for about 20-30 seconds it will automatically go full throttle in reverse until i give it forward juice. after that it will only go forward until the next time it idles... what's broken?

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
get a decent sized peice of lexan (stuff the bodies are made out of) and mimic the motor guard, except make it wider so it covers the wire connections as well, drill holes for the screws and bolt it in. as for the bottoming out, put stiffer springs on the back, crankt hem down a bit with spacers and put heavier wt oil in them. good luck

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
35 wt with stiff springs is great for the dirt in my backyard. traction rolls like no other on pavement though.

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
i dont think i'd go with the e-revo 1/16 just because of the excess amount of power... doesnt seem like you'd be able to drive it in dirt too well running some of those setups

RE: Spending around a Grand then out of hobby ;(
i'm sure you could easily pull 500+ if you sell it as an RTF. maybe piece out extra batteries and charger for more. as stated, look what people are asking for on ebay and RCU forums and go from there.

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
throw a deans connector onto your ESC and buy a flightmax 2s (2 cell 7.4v) LiPo from hobbycity. might have to gear the motor a little bit differently and put the dual disc slipper upgrade on, but it runs a bit quicker with the lipo rather than the nimh. good luck

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
my limited edition came with the narrow wheels up front, i found the original wider ones and that added more weight thus making it easier to steer. however, i've found that if you give it too much power, it just flips right onto its roof... very impressed with the motor! just figure out a way to add more weight up front

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
i have that one as well, any ESC will work with the Rx/Tx that come with it so no need to replace the radio set if you dont want to. as for the servo, the hitec hs-55 is the most popular
