RE: Really Large (7' - 10' long) AC Models?
You can also look into the J class boats which, are copies of the 1930's America Cup boats. Mine is 89 3/4" long with a 15" beam, over 3000 sq. inches of sail. Fiberglass hull, aluminum mast and booms and it uses a smartwinch, this is an AMYA class boat. I lived in Fredonia for several years and kept a 28' Ranger in Dunkirk

RE: Found Sailboat, any thoughts of make?
Someone did a great deal of work on that boat, the hull is faired very well. I'm sure that with a little effort you could make is sailable. Record the lenght, width, weight, etc. Does it have any ballast in it??? Bob

RE: Zenoah G62 muffler
I'm running Brison 3.2, just a little over 52 cc. I can either use a 22x8 or a 20x10. I have heard that I can use a 22x10 but haven't tried it yet.

I put my ignition right behind the firewall...within an inch. The RX and one 5 cell is on the provided servo tray. The other 5 cell is at the wing tube on top of the fuel tank foam. Sound like yours???

RE: Zenoah G62 muffler
OK I guess its time for a stupid question....My Laser is totally assembled with a Brison 3.2. I have balanced several planes with no problems at all but for some reason this one is different. I get to the point where it it just about stops when balancing but then it drops...either the front or rear....is this common for this size plane???? Any help would be great!

RE: Walbro Carb question
Yes it is on a cover but I'm thinking that if it broke that part of the housing it may have damaged the gasket

RE: Walbro Carb question
Last fall I crashed my plane, it had a Brison 3.2 engine in it. Today while getting ready to mount the engine in a new plane I found that the idle adjustment screw is gone and the place on the carb housing that held the screw is broken where the screw was mounted. I feel that it will still run ok but I would like to have that idle adjustment screw and housing. Does anyone know where I can get the parts???? It is a Walbro WT 155.....

RE: Laser 2000
I called and talked to Ray who told me that out of the 1900 some planes that have been shipped only about 15 had the wrong paint on the cowl. He asked for digital photos and my address so another one could be shipped right away. I couldn't have asked for a better response, great service.

RE: Laser 2000
OK Guys, my plane came today..a day early for UPS......The first thing I noticed was that the paint lines on the cowl don't match the ones on the plane and one of the wheel pants have a chip out of the edge around the opening for the wheel...good place for a crack to start. Other than that...IT'S HUGE!!!!

RE: Laser 2000
ORIGINAL: Chillybee I have a Laser 2000 with a Fuji 64 and it was my 1st 1/4 scale plane. Having something that big indimidated the living daylights out of me for the 1st flight. But I figured what good is a plane if you don't fly it so after breaking in the engine which ran extremely smooth because of the flywheel, it was time to fly. By the time I'd advanced to 1/2 throttle, it was off the ground and climbing like a rocket. A tad of right trim and it flew hands off. Talk about one smooth and easy flying plane! Once you get used to the overall size of the plane and how much distance it seems to cover, it's just like any other stunt plane. I'm no great 3D pilot, but at 16 lbs, it has more than enough power and control throw...more than I'll ever need. So after over 3 years of flying it, I can still say it has to be the most stable plane I own mostly because of the overall size and huge wing. The bottom line is, don't be afraid because it's so big, just fly it like a regular plane and take it up nice and high on your 1st flight. You'll be amazed at how stable it is especially on landing approaches.
I think you hit it on the head when you said "that the size indimidated you", something that large will be something to get used to in all aspects. Does it seem to be a fast plane or just it just seem that way? jbflier... you could always get another one...!

RE: Laser 2000
Thank you, that was very helpful information...now I just have to remember all of it. I normally have one of our instructors fly the maiden and do the trimming as needed and maybe a few times on the buddy box just to make sure due to it's size. I want it to be around for next season too so I will take things slowly until I feel comfortable. I have watched the video of the 2000 on downonthedeck but wish there were more of them to watch. The plane will be here on Tuesday and will be ready before the weather will be. Thank you again!

RE: Laser 2000
I just want to know what to expect at first and get any hints that may keep it flying for a long time to come. Eliminating the "OOPS" factor is always helpful.

RE: Laser 2000
I have just purchased a Laser 2000 but this will be my largest plane to date. It will be set up with a Brison 3.2 and all JR equipment, 6 volt 2200 Mah batteries all around and Sullivan Smokewriter. I have been flying pattern planes and would like to know what I should watch out for with this plane. I want to start on low throws and scale them back to 70% until I am comfortable with how it handles. I have MSC 22 x 8 and 22 x 10 props, which would be better? Thanks in advance!

Silversurfer, now you know why I wanted the book.... The only difference I can see is that I have been giving it a small amount of throttle instead of full trim.

RE: Info on a Brison 3.2
Dennis, sounds like I will have to try and set the choke at half and see if it helps, it may be getting too much fuel when totally closed. This is my first "gas" engine and I am a little timid about the adjustments.

RE: Info on a Brison 3.2
I am using high octane with Amsoil, 100 to 1, prop is a MSC 22 x 8. This is in a Kangke Waco and it does great... At times it seems hard to start, several flips after it has popped and the choke opened and at low throttle on roll out to high throttle it sounds like its loading up. WOT is fine, sounds like the real thing!

Info on a Brison 3.2
After a long, long, long search I have still not been able to locate my owners manual for my Brison 3.2. This is what happens when your wife says," honey I will put it away"). This engine was purchased last year and I need the specs. on the needle valve and other general information. If someone has one and can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
