RE: Wanted civil plane plan
Just finishing my Lockheed P-3 Orion plans, You might like it, the kit will be finished soon. The first one in cut and being built by my Australian distributor; SC Models. She is electric as the nacelles are so small there is not enough room for engines big enough to fly her without totally screwing up her looks!

RE: aileron horn placement
Bob, I see the Orion, she is done!! Waiting to hear from the cutters, laser and wet jet, to come up with a basic kit price. The LG is priced and we will be supporting it with nacelles in about two months.

RE: aileron horn placement
Rye, you want the control horn, linkage and the servo to be perpendicular to the hinge line if possible. This gives you maximum energy transfer an less likelihood of any binding!

RE: Mold release removal
When you know you are going to paint a molded part stop your sanding it at 180 grit. I gives you somewhat of a paint holding surface for the upper coat. It can not be to rough or your have trouble pulling the part. If you can use a gel coat of the color wanted in the end, then you can go for the perfect shine on the plug. I have spent days in a 19' female runabout mold getting a shine on it.

RE: Mold release removal
Most mold releases are soap and water clean up items. That is how we cleaned up the 17-9' boat hulls when we pulled them from the molds, it was PVA.

RE: Lustercote Dove Grey
If you take the cowel to Lowel's or any paint store they can scan it for you, I believe the RGB codes are the same throughout the paint industry, and they mix the color you need, not sure about your paint types. Maybe a automotive body shop that mixes their own paints!

RE: Lights at the top of the vertical fin. How to wire?
If you use a jewelers file strike a small flat area as large as the light you wish to mount, you may end up with a hole by doing this. Make sure you are using sharp drills. Take a small drill, say half the size of the hole you need and start it by twirling it between your fingers, then use a Dremel tool to finish the small hole. Next select the size drill to fit the need and very slowly drill the hole. This way you have not put a lt of pressure on the seam, if there is one!

RE: PA Addiction
I do not know the model you are working with, but try and keep the leads as short as possible, and still get separation to keep one from heating the other. Your would be wise to have the ability to disconnect one lead of the battery for safety reason.

RE: AGAIN , aileron to flap ratio size
On a P-3 Orion the percents are 28% ailerons to 72% flaps of the total area. On a Stinson SR-9 reliant it is 50/50. On a Dee Howard 500 it is 25% to 75%. On an F+W C3603 it is 42% to 58%. Hope that helps, those are planes I have or am designing plans for. None of them are high performance except the F+W C3606 which was a WWII Swiss fighter.
