RE: actual speed?
This is just one link to the speed topic. Search a bit more and you'll find quite a few more posts about the 'real speed' these are capable. Good luck. I still love mine hehe http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4378751/tm.htm

RE: Where do you insert the electric starter on the volcano STX????
Any idea what the rpms are on these things? I bought a new engine with a tiger drive on it and my poor old 18v drill doesn't seem to be doing the trick. OR something else is wrong LOL

RE: need help with clutch placement
Wow that's one torn up clutch bell. Chubbysuncle is right there.. the leading edge should have the pin in it.. As the shaft spins the front side of the shoe should be attached and the following end should swing freely.. Does that make sense? Also.. What did you do to that poor clutch?!?! ..was a sledge hammer involved?? lol Good luck with it. Someone suggested a traxxas 4146x clutch and spring for my stx, but the LHS guy sold me an API (traxxas was out of stock), turned out to be the wrong diameter. Go figure.. I'm goin back to get the 4146x ... um.. now.. latas

RE: clutch springs
Lhs guy sold me a similar clutch spring to the original, but it broke. Next one he mentioned filing down the lower part of teh clutch plate that might be pinching the spring when the clutch comes open. Does this sound right? My only real alternative is continuing to buy tougher springs which I hear will engage my clutch slower...lowering take off speeds.

RE: Sunday AM and the Tornado sits ...
LOL my father in law ran mine into a concrete lamp post earlier today. It bounced about 3 feet backward and kept on going. It popped the exhaust off the mount and bent the frame up in the front, but only pushed the bumper off center. Nothing Broke!!! (later another clutch spring) There isn't a whole lot of complaining when it comes to father-in-laws [X(] Damn car just kept on running. GL with your radio bro.

RE: redcat owner
OK, woohooo!! It IS the clutch spring! Didn't think I'd be breaking down this thing SO soon, but it's quite easy and thankfully a spring is ez nuff [:D] The piston does seem to pull the cylinder up when its at top dead center. Is this normal for the cylinder to actually move up when the heat sink is off and it's TDC?

RE: redcat owner
My clutch is binding, and I've only begun breaking the engine in. The truck rolls freely then just binds up and stops. The racers who were around said it was the clutch. Darn, was looking forward to my next post here being a woohoo or something. lol

RE: Most wanted parts for Volcano
<<<---- 1st time poster [X(] lol so all help is appreciated. Are these steering arms and door type mounts aluminum? I just bought the Volcano (mainly due to everyone's good reviews here) and I'm looking to pre-order w/e might tweak the truck a little bit and improve handling/performance. Thx in advance
