Hi David, been watching your build, all I can say is AWSOME! Loved your 109 build, and can't wait to see how this one turns out. Aaron D.

RE: Meister 1/5 scale P-47
Another thought, if the air flowing under the wing is hitting the wheel well and pushing the inner gear door towards the centerline of the aircraft, it could be pushing the door over center and not allowing the linkage to pull the door to closed. Can you lessen the amount the door is opening and still clear the gear giong in and out? Oh, it's a Meister, you probably could not get it to stall anyway![:D] Aaron D.

RE: Meister 1/5 scale P-47
I would think an easy way to test if it were air pressure keeping the doors open would be to fly straight up to a stall. At stall there would be no airspeed keeping the doors open. If they close, then it may very well be the airflow keeping them open. Just a thought, Aaron D.

G62 without carb insulator?
Has anybody tried running the G62 without the carb insulator block installed? I need to remove it to make the engine fit in the cowl. I'm trying not to spend the money on a toni clark 90* intake bend if I don't have to. Thanks, Aaron

Well I think the guy did a good job with what he had to deal with. Maybe ony a prop damaged, it could have been a lot worse. A remote ignition kill would have helped though. Aaron D.

RE: Liquid Sheeting
I have followed many of Fahim's (wowplanes) threads on rcscalebuilder and he covers the liqquid sheeting process very well. It is not something he just buys off the shelf and re-bottles. He worked for a couple of years perfecting what is now called liquid sheeting. He is an honest guy and will answer all of your questions if you ask him. Most of what I have read on this thread is from guys who have no idea of what liquid sheeting is. An 8 oz. order if applied correctly will cover a 62" model with 2 coats. It can be applied directly over balsa and will produce a hard surface than can be sanded and painted. The liquid sheeting when applied over balsa will be flexible and not crack (within reason). If the handle is stuck, take it the pump apart and use a litlle 600 grit sandpaper on the copper looking pump plate and put it back together. I've had this happen twice and fixed them both times. Aaron D.
ORIGINAL: dutchy50 G`Day Setting up my  batteries for the Elec. Ignition and RX for the DLE 20cc, using the Hobbico HydriMax 2000 NiMH batteries x2 , is there a way of charging two batteries at once or do they have to be charged separately? if separate does that mean 2 charging switches have to be installed on the plane? Also what size fuel tank are people using with this engine? Using the DLE 20cc Gas in my P-51 60 size! Does the fuel tank have to have the 3 fuel line outlets  for GAS which come with fuel tanks, or is there  such a product for Gas only? What have you guys done about the choke setup in a closed cowl situation with the DLE20cc? dutchy50<img alt='''' src=''http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/biggrin.gif'' />
You can charge both batteries at the same time since they are the exact same. I have the exact same batteries and charge them both at the same time useing a Y that I made up. I charge them as if they were a single 6 volt 4000mah battery. I charge at 1.6 amps. The batteries cannot both be plugged into the reciever at the same time while charging if you're running an IBEC through the reciever. Aaron D.

RE: ZENOAH G-62 HAND STARTING ?
I could start mine sometimes. You have to turn the prop quickly through the starting procedure. I got tired of trying to get it started all the time. I installed a spring starter 4 years ago and love it. I only turn the prop back with the spring starter about half a revolution, that's all it takes. Starts are a real pleasure now. Aaron D.

RE: New .90 gas engine (15cc)
ORIGINAL: bhoges17 Well we redid the tank today and hope to fly it again tomorrow. With the 15x6prop its running about 8000. The transition is good but at full throttle it does fluctuate from 7800-8300. Its got a good idle and has power all the way though. Yesterday when it would stall in flight it would slowly start to loose power. We richened it up 2x and didnt matter and she still would dead stick. Then when we tested it on the ground it would run great. Each time it stalled in flight it was in level flight at full throttle.
I know you are saying it's fine on the ground, but that sure sounds like it's overheating in flight. Aaron D.

I would check the width of the cowl and compare it to the width of the motor. I'll bet you will have to cut quite a bit out of the side of the cowl for the muffler. Aaron D.

Try bypassing the switch and plug the battery into the ignition, that will tell you if the switch is the problem. From there start checking your ignition. Aaron D.

RE: G-62 lite
ORIGINAL: BadAzzMaxx Talking about getting criticized. A little over two years ago I built a thrust stand that you could mount a plane in and test thrust with different props. Was at a fly in and was having some fun with it, Tested a Area51 with a 23-A Vess prop and a DA with a 23-A Vess prop, The Area51 put out 2lbs more thrust than the DA at the same RPM Had the video posted on U Tube but got so much slack about it I removed it. We did the test three time to make sure nothing was wrong, So showing people thrust test does not seem mean squash . Milton
Ok, I'll bite. How is it possible for the exact same prop at the exact same rpm produce two different thrust calculations? Aaron D.

RE: Kingspark ignition
Well hello everyone. I am one of the five that recieved a Kingspark ignition for testing. I set up my ZDZ40B with the ignition running on a 7.2 volt 2 cell lipo battery and a brand new spark plug. I turned the engine over and it started and idled good. I let the engine idle and warm up. After the engine was warm I started checking throttle response and it was good, so I started checking full throttle RPM and was getting 7150, which is good for this engine. After about 10 seconds of full throttle while checking the RPMs the engine suddenly died. I pulled the plug and checked for spark, and nothing. I checked my battery and it was at 8 volts. I connected a different 4.8 volt fully charged battery and checked for spark again, nothing. I am sorry to report that the ignition has failed after a very short use. To bad too, because I had high hopes for this smaller ignition I could run on a two cell unregulated lipo. Aaron D.
