RE: CDI gr8flyer55
Jack, I look at the excel file , Last Rev3 ,I had a bit time today and in the Table value on the D3 for copy paste I look at the statement and reason for starting with the high number and then small is that it gets first cell G262 and then G7,G8....etc. I change the beginning and the end of the statement and then all comes in order. Un less you need the G262 for some reason to be first. . G262= 916RPM As far as calculation all seams to be OK, I test it with a linear curve like in the last posting and all comes in order . If you make a wave curve then numbers are up and down to reflect that. Before: =TEXT(G262,0)&","&TEXT(G7,0)&","&TEXT(G8,0)&","&TEXT(G9,0)&",...............,"&TEXT('Table Values'!G261,0) After: =TEXT(G7,0)&","&TEXT(G8,0)&","&TEXT(G9,0)&",..........,"TEXT(G261,0)&","&TEXT('Table Values'!G262,0) Thanks Adrian

RE: CDI gr8flyer55
If curve is linear like below numbers should be in order. 3 things that I think can give you the numbers in different order . 1 data colection to the Copy/Paste Cell 2 calculation 3 curve . One of them it my have couple bugs. Curve can influence the numbers. If you taper down at HI RPMS then your numbers are going to change,If you use a curve similar of ROB posted here. If you use something like I just test here then they should be in order.I just used 12F683_CDI_v0.9b3 excel file. LOW RPM= Hi number Hi RPM= Lo number So... in order to make sure "numbers are right" make a linear curve , spread the numbers as equal possible over the RPM range. Look in to the table data and you should all numbers in order. After that go ahead and create your desired curve. In this particular example that first number is an issue....can be a data colection, calculation . Take a picture of the curve and posted here. My be able to pinpoint better. Like I said can be one of the 3 or all 3 of them with the new version of the file. Thanks Adrian .

Jake, If you want , I can send you coils, and CH HV boad to be able to test as a real deal. In my opinion and that is just mine is to get read of the LED. keep it simple. If you need to time the engine...use a dedicated device or use the ignition to get the spark at the desired angle BTDC. Thanks Adrian

I am still working on the 3 cylinder circuit, it looks promising but need more tweaks. Onece I will have it working strong on the simulator then I will need an engine to try it on and see if on a real engine will perform the same as on the simulator. Thanks Adrian

RE: CDI gr8flyer55
I have not seen the code, But this was my Idea for the CH RainFire TM ,I think I told you about it. After intial fire based on the RPM and executed delay from the table, you can have the code to trigger the SCR one more time before the magnet gets around the sensor. The CH can spark up to 25000RPM easy. Now you can create the code that between 1500-4000 to give you 5 (20000/4000=)5 sparks

Interesting, I thought that they solved the issue. What is failling on them? Ignition, Carburation issue? Ask him if he wants to send one to me and I will take a look. The "old FG20" I have the fix for them. Replace the carb with a zama and CH ignition. Thanks Adrian

RE: 180FS Glow to Gas
Cutarug, If you do not mind ...I will suggest couple things to have a bit cleaner set-up. It looks good but you can try couple things. On the carb addaptor you can make a internal port that will communcate with carb pulse hole. Take off the pupming side cover and if you have a milling ability...use a 3/8 end mill and go 0.5mil or more down to make a seat for a spring. Now you can install a spring between the cover and diafragm ....that on Walbro Zama uses a more stiffer material for the pumping side , the carbs I tried from zama I did not had to do the seat thing. Try first without the crank pulse....worst of the worst will not pump and then you connect it back. I will try to post a picture to show what I have done on Walboro Carbs to get them working on 4 stroke engines. This way you will not need to use the crank case pulse. I will post a picture next week. I am out now for Memorial Hol. Thanks Adrian

RE: SMALL DISPLACEMENT FOUR STROKE GLOW TO GAS CONVERSION
Hi Gordon, Pic 1: You can remove the Plastics, just get a pair of pliers and pull them off. I do that 99% of the time. Pic 2: You must plug that. Get some tygon tubbing, heat it up and one end with a ....lighter and pinch them together when is hot enough...or pinch the brass shut and solder. Pic 3: Take the spring from curent position and put it on the curve between the 2nd and 3rd hole. look at my pic. Pulse hole is correct. Pic 4: Yes you can remove it if you like....but why? if is to long...you can cut it. It will make it easier to prime the carb. You can remove also the thootlle adjustment position since you get it on the servo and you will position with that. however it my get idle sensitive and you will relay on the servo. If the screw is there ...then will hold that position all the times. This carb can pull gasoline from 1-2 feet away easy. tank can be below ,above center carb. Hope it helps

RE: SMALL DISPLACEMENT FOUR STROKE GLOW TO GAS CONVERSION
Hi Gordon, I have to say that you did a real nice job. I have a Enya VT240 that I want to convert to gas. Zama is a good carb I have use it in many conversions on RCV91CD, Saito 120,125,150,180. And it works real good. It is a direct replacement of WT-456-1. Bad part is that both are discontinued but still available. What I want to do in mine is to make an Intake and run one carb. Looking at your setup it will be hard to set 2 carbs in that small space. Any way it will "fill" one cylinder at the time and will be enough with one carb. Check around and you may find some old stock . Thank You Adrian

RE: Zama needle settings
Hi John, All Zama Carbs I am using I start at 1 1/4 turns. Raise the the RPMS to 4000 with the screw for throttle adjustment then play first the high needle , turn it till you get a nice "round" sound and engine pics RPMS. then do the same with Low needle. After that back out the adjustment screw to your desire idle. Then go and check how it transition and how it runs on WOT. If you want ...then try to lean uot till you get the highest RPMS then go back on rich side till around 200 rpms are dropped. You do not want to run it to lean. If carb does not have a accelerator pump you will want to run it a bit rich at idle.( turn the needle on the rich side till you drop around 200 rpms.and try transition again. I am not sure if this make any sense to you ...but I do moust by ear and feel. Zama has all the technical data for all egines on theyr site. http://www.zamacarb.com/prod_lookup.cfm , select the carb series then the model. Hope it helps. Adrian
