RE: Lipo parallel charging HELP
I already sealed this battery but I will do the same with a 11.1v (2200mAh) lipo that I have, I will put the 3 cells in pararell. Right now my mini DVR recorded video 12hours in a row with the 7.2v lipo battery I modified and voltage is still on the 3.89v to be exact. If I mod the 11.1v lipo I could get 6600mAh wich is enought for a long day of recording. Before the 7.2v (2200mAh) lipo pack charging time was 45-60min, now with the new setup 3.7v (4400mAh) charging time took 128min, but is worth it because now I have over 12 hours of recording with the LCD display on my mini DVR always on. I had to scratch the tabs and use a lot of flux so the wire soldered good, but is a pain in the behind to do it, plus I have to be very careful because when soldering the tabs get really hot and the battery can KABOMM on me.

Lipo parallel charging HELP
I have a 2S - 7.2v / 2200mAh lipo pack I opened the shrink wrap and divided the cells in 2. Now I have (2) sources of 3.7v wich I'm soldering into PARALLEL to get 3.7V @ 4400mAh right? Now my question is what should I set my charger to charge this pack? 3.7v @ 2200mAh or 3.7v @ 4400mAh?

Ahh ok, that could be easy fix if need it, instead of push I can go pull system, that's the beuty of brushless, switch the wires and that's it.

This is the regulator that I have http://rangevideo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_20&products_id=29 Depending on the current I will have to see if I need 1 or 2 regulators , 1 regulator gives me 1000mAh output. rechargables AAA's have 900mAh. good for a few minutes of flight I guess.

BRUSHLESS Aquacraft Air Force VIDEO updated
Guys I have been away for a while (to much work) but now I have a little free time and I started a new project. Since I have a all white Aquacraft Air Force hull free, I'm putting a big nice brushless setup on it. Right now I have NO IDEA on how the propeller will react with the motor but here are some specs: BRUSHLESS MOTOR with water jacket Turborix 1110w 3200rpm/v Inner Runner Brushless Motor Specification: kv : 3200rpm/v Weight : 215g Length : 50mm Diameter : 35.8mm Shaft Diameter: 5mm Idle Current : 2.39A Resistance : 0.0115 Max Current : 60A Battery : 4-5LIPO BRUSHLESS ESC Standard SV27 ESC watercooled PROPELLER Master Airscrew 11x7 HULL Aquacraft Air Force I won't be using air rudders for now, I want to see how the water rudder works first, I have never tried this boat in the past. it will running on 14.8v (lipo or nihm) i don't know yet but I have both for the test. now my question is looking at the specs of the motor and the battery power I will be using, is the propeller to small for it? Here are some pictures of how it may look like. I need to make sure the motor mount will hold the setup. Test #1 using only (2) 7.2volt battery packs in series 12cells producing 14.4volts in total but battery were fully charged 2-3 months ago for the test they were NOT fully charged. Second test will consist on fresh charged batteries. The total voltage for this setup with 14cells will be 16.8 Volts with 3800mAh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIJFO2YCbiQ More videos soon

RE: AIRSHIP BLIMP Video and Pics
So far the 2 batteries it came with the 3v and 9volt both were discharged, but the 3volts is still working. for the helium i still don't know I have this airship for 3 days, I still need more days to tell you if is holding good. I do susggest to inflate this at party city or any store that have helium, I bought the $29.99 helium tank and both aircrafts emptied the tank.

AIRSHIP BLIMP Video and Pics
Here is a video of the Megatech Airship Blimp combo. Here you can see how it really flies. Not those crappy megatech videos from their website. It takes (4) 25cents coins, (2) 10cents coins and (2) 1cent coin to mantain the airship weight stable. I'm working on using a 9volt battery with a mini voltage regulator to have 9volt for a mini wireless camera and with the voltage regulator 3volts for the airship this is removing the 3v battery currently used for the airship alone. http://media.putfile.com/Megatech-Blimp

RE: BRUSHLESS Aquacraft Air Force
I just bought the servo cable extension that I need it, so I will be finishing this project today or tomorrow and hopefully some videos during the weekend, I will also add to the setup a WIRELESS DEPTH / FISH FINDER to it. The transponder have been modified to transmit longer distance and receiver has a external antenna for better receiving. The sonar sensor will be installed inside the hull just like on real boats. The whole thing is lighter than a bluetooth earpiece. This is the depth / fishfinder I will be using, but mine is modified and the electric components from the green transponder are out of that shell [image]http://www.carptackle.co.uk/specimen/hummingbird/humminbird_smartcast_rf10-vwd.jpg[/image]

RE: INSANE SV27 Nitro to Electric convertion UPDATED 7/31/07
ORIGINAL: SV27dayton Where does it say LIPO? (12 cells). I've been keeping quiet but I don't believe this. Spend all that time and money and use have a$$ charged batts and go 44.5 on the wrong prop and say "well I'm going to give up on this." I don't buy it. That GPS looks strikingly like mine sitting in the passenger seat of my car when I get home after forgetting to shut it off. No - I'm going to make a few adjustments, try it with the tabs down and the bats back. Or even "I'm going to see how it runs with the batteries charged" Where's that lake where you ran it as a nitro boat? That looked nice enough. Too much work to just quit.
I'm quiting becuase when I had the nitro setup and didn't like the jumping it had at full throttle. I decided to sell it but like any other R/C even new you will loose $$ re-selling it. I decided to put this brushless motor wich was for another project on this SV27 just to tested, I sold the .18cv-r engine so I had the hull to play with it. After playing with it at the pond, I noticed that even if I put a turbo engine or 2 brushless motors in it , I'm still going to have control problems, flip ups, etc. That's why I don't care about keeping the project going. The setup look much nicer on my cheap proboat jet ski [:D]. the gps in the other hand have the correct readings, I stoped the timer at soon I disconected the batteries at the pond, plus going home I have to get on the highway and is more than 44.5mph there. The SV hull is almost sold and the brushless setup is in another body [;)] it was fun. [image]http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/9363/1001693mediumvn2.jpg[/image]

RE: Self righting tunnel?
i love when the other boat jumps on it, I think the hull haves a BALL inside than at soon it flips the balls goes to one side and makes the boat self righting. maybe , maybe no, I have seen this before but don't know if that's the setup they have.

Here is the video of the ProBoat Riptide on the bathtub [:D][:D] I had to recorded myself, my wife will kill me if she sees this video. I had to mop the floor before she came back. I will be using the stock SV27 ESC and 14.4v or the max the SV ESC can handle with - 3800mAh. The test was made with a 11.1v - 2200mAh lipo, it sure haves more power than the old brushless setup I had on it. RE: INSANE SV27 Nitro to Electric convertion UPDATED 7/31/07
ORIGINAL: Blackjack52 You got 48mph on stock/spec 12c NiMh? With what prop? Are you sure there aren't fumes lingering in the pits. I know these speeds are attainable on lipo (though very very unstab like you said). Grim got controllable 38mph on x440/3 spec setup. I'm tapped at mid 38s, little chop, on m445. Last I heard, SVs were tearing up the courses pretty well; taking trophies.
I got 44.5mph with a 3,200 rpm/v motor and 100amp ESC, and stock NITRO 3 blade prop. NOT THE STOCK PROP from the SV27 Brushless version. Nitro and Brushless version have different props. Nitro is smaller wich equals less stress on the motor. But I got more RPM's than the stock motor. the 44.5mph were made on the top performance of the boat before the battery got low. on a side note: I tested the MOTOR with the SV27 ESC and the 11.1v lipo on my bathtub and it drained the lipo in less than 1 min. This motor is rated: kv : 3200rpm/v Weight : 215g Length : 50mm Diameter : 35.8mm Shaft Diameter: 3.2mm Idle Current : 2.39A Resistance : 0.0115 Max Current : 60A Battery : 4-5LIPO I used a 3S lipo I think the running time at the pond was to little because the motor needs 14.8v minimum, I had 14.4v then the power droped to 12.9v and the boat lost lots of power. Darn it I didn't remenber that. I should try it with 18 cells but to late.

RE: INSANE SV27 Nitro to Electric convertion UPDATED 7/31/07
I'm not saying the boat was stable, it was still going up and down like when I had it nitro with the CV-R engine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liGu9FJz2Ys as you can see in the video it was very unstable , after that I trimmed down the prop shaft and bended a little the taps, but nevwer tested again until now with the brushless motor and the speed was almost the same or even faster but the hull wasn't bumping up/down as much. The water was like a glass , I asume if I test the brushless setup on the same lake I ran the nitro version I will flip it up again. [:D]
ORIGINAL: Blackjack52 I commend you on the conversion, but to use 2 wk old packs and get those results.....maybe it's good for us that you're giving up.
they were not that weak because I have 4 packs and only use 2 of them and they got low very quickly, but I used the other 2 packs on my car and it gave me a good running time, and all 4 four charged the same day. I think the ESC drains a lot of power of the setup eats to much amps don't know I only got 3-4 min after I noticed the voltage cut off.
ORIGINAL: ctonez [sm=tired.gif]talk talk talk talk talk. no bathtub video. I really wanted to see that...boooo! no 18 cell mondo-test. in this case WOT means Waste Of Time. go make a brushless car... ...the GPS is likely not correct. why is there elevation showing in one pic, but not your "44.5" pic? [&o] sure glad I kept up with this thread...bye.
There is no elevation because when you stop the timer on the GPS it holds only the display wich you have set to hold MAX (altitute, speed, time etc) the only one I have set to MAX is the speed, the other 2 are just live readings while you're outside, when I took the picture of the max speed I was at home already. the brushless setup will go now to the ProBoat jet ski. I don't have to lie about the speed, any stock SV27 with a different prop can do 44.5 +mph. that equals what I have, faster motor with smaller prop. it ran almost identically as the old setup that I had .18CV-R mx engine with tuned pipe. but with better handling and still jumping a little.
