RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
thanks for the tips, but i need more advice now. I went to run it and something broke. The pinion and spur spin with throttle but the tires dont move. I assumed it was the diff so i took it apart and dont see any visisble damage, but i noticed the output shaft that goes through part number2388x will spin freely inside part 2388x. I put 2 and 2 together and figured something inside it is broke. I got a feeling it has 50 gears and washers and bearings inside it so i would rather just replace it. Should it spin freely? thanks for looking

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
hey guys, i am new to the slash forum and had a question. i see all these videos on youtube about slash 2wd's with 3s lipos and they are wheelie monsters. so i got a sky lipo 3300mah 20c 3s to put in mine. this thing flies....but no wheelies and mucho tire spin. i assume i dont need to have the slipper nut tightened all the way, or do i? it is about half a turn from close now. any suggestions on getting wheelies? thanks for looking

RE: New to nitro
I would think the exhaust is the way it should be, they are different from 2 stroke. And it really doesnt matter where you put the after run oil, either way its gonna get to the engine parts.

4wd prob on ntc3
I have two ntc3's, one has single speed and ae .12, the other is two speed with os 18tm. i noticed that the one with the os 18, when it is running and i give it throttle, the two front wheels spin fast but the back wheels just kinda "coast" slowly. also I noticed on the one with the ae .12, all four wheels spin fast when throttle applied. Any ideas? thanks

I've had picco .26max for 3 gallons with stock everything. Not one spur, tranny, or driveshaft problem. Just depends on how its setup.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
I actually have a cheap 27mhz rx/tx. I didnt switch modes, i followed the vxl-3s programing instructions. It says to hold button until green and then red, let go and when it blinks once, hold the throttle, blinks twice, hold the reverse and its set. Well.... when i let go it turns back green and doesnt allow me to hold throttle or reverse. The truck doesnt move at all, nor the steering.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
Hey guys have a problem need some help. I was running my slash 4x4 yesterday and doin some big jumps, until the last jump. It had rolled a few times after it landed and was on its top. I turned it over and no response from steering or throttle. The light was red, so i turned it off and back on, it was then green. I've tried resetting transmitter to esc to no avail. I hold the button until green, then red and i release. The light blinks red once and immediately goes green. It doesnt allow me to hold throttle and then hold reverse as stated in instructions. Any suggestions? It is a vxl-3s (unfortuneately). Thanks for looking

RE: Wont start
how long are u priming? how long do you use the ez start in one try? try heating the engine with blow dryer first, that helps start much faster. Only prime long enough to see the fuel go into the carb, and run the wand for just a few seconds at a time. Check the plug to see if it has alot of fuel on it, if it does then pinch the line and use starter until it fires, then release line.

RE: trx 3.3 burning up glowplugs
I had the SAME prob a while back, so i took my revo to my LHS and they fixed it right there. It was the o-ring on the gas tank lid. If it is at all damaged it will burn plugs every time u run. If he let it idle upside down the temps were perfect, but as soon as he flipped it on its wheel and gave it throttle it burnt the plug. If i start burning plugs that is the first thing i check. hope that helps

RE: steering servo trouble
turns out the servo wasnt bad. I had to change the dust boots on the driveshafts, and when i reinstalled I tightened the pivot ball caps too tight causing the wheels to "stick" left or right. I loosened them a little and the problem was gone:)
