RE: Warbird aficionados..I apologize
ORIGINAL: Spychalla Aircraft I did a poll on this about 2 years ago. It had 75 respondents or so. I am one of the 60% who believe a Warbird is still a Warbird even with civilian or Reno racer paint on it. Decorate it in a way that makes you happy. It is your hobby! A tribute airplane that I have in the works is Gerry Beck's "Precious Metal". Many around me think it is an ugly scheme and that I shouldn't do it. But I find real interest in the paint scheme. Even more since Gerry lost his life in the roll-over crash up at Oshkosh 2 years ago. Leo
Anyone who doesn't like Lime Green drives a Ford or a Chevy[:D] Jerry

RE: ROBARTS ZIROLI 92" ARF ASSEMBLY
In the words of my 13 YO Boy "That is sick man!" I'll have to live my dream thru you LOL. I did notice one thing on the proto-type pics that I found to be like a mole on the chin of a hot girl, the fit of the removable canopy area. I hope they made that fit better. Jerry

RE: Yellow P-40 (under construction)
Carbon fiber is a conductor and I have heard of people having some trouble with it but not with the 2.4 systems. If you could do your antenna like they were originally not only would you have a scale look you should be clear of any caron fiber issues. Has anyone tried a solo prop on one of these? Jerry

P-40 Questions
After reading Grahams thread on his P-38 I am thinking of taking on a task equal to that. I recently picked up a customized Yellow Aircraft P-40 (Thanks Frank) and now I want to build a highly detailed and accurate P-40E and keep the one I just got a my "daily flier" per say. I think the bigger the plane the easier to do the detailing and the largest I found was the Jerry Bates plans at I think a 97" wing span. I would like to get the fuselage in fiberglass tho and not have to frame it and cover it and then finally glass it. So my questions are: 1. Does anyone know of a bigger than 1/5.5 fiberglass fuselage? 2. What do you think of the rotary aileron and flap servo's? I want people to look at this plane when it is done and think someone shrunk down an real plane.[:D] Thanks in advance for your time. Jerry

Servos
I used to have a link to a company that has "dare I say it wrong" hidden servo's. They use a thick metal rod with a bend in the end that goes in a slot in the flap, rudder, etc. Anyone and opinions? Thanks in advance. Jerry

RE: Radio Suggestions
Lots of good info and I thank you for your input. After a lot of research from your info I will probably try a JR. I got a killer deal on the hanger 9 B-25 with the gas engines but no worry she will hang from the ceiling for awhile. I love how you can really make some of these war birds realistic with the landing gear, bombs, sliding canopy's etc and I plan to really detail one out someday. I've been training with real flight 3.5 as there are not a lot of fliers around here. I would say that I could safely fly a plane at this point. I have found that the Yak is the easiest to fly. Any way thanks again!!!! Jerry

Radio Suggestions
What is a good radio for a beginner in the airplane field? I want something that is expandable channel wise down the road. I am into large scale war birds including twin engine planes. I have a lot of experience with cars and boats but I am starting to get bored with it and want to fly[:D] Thanks in advance...... Jerry
