RE: Fei Bao Euro Fighter EF-2000 build thread *Lots of Pics!*
Had the maiden flight today! All went well but learned a few things. 1. Need to add the third tank. 5 min controlled flight and 1:45 in landing circuits. The main tank was empty and the single saddle tank was 3/4 to 1/2 full. I will add the 3rd tank. 2. Having the front tank drain first is a Very bad idea! When I was comming in my final turns if I got the nose up at all, the fuel would move back in the tank and I was looking at the bottom of the jet in a tail heavy situation. First 4 min of flight it was balanced very well. I will be switching the saddles to drain first and the main last. Glad I got it down smooth and safely in a tail heavy situation. Great flying airplane!

Wren 44 gold
I'm having an issue with my 44 gold. Went to start today and data terminal said glow plug bad. Pulled the glow plug. It is fine. Put a glow igniter on and I get glow. Tried a new glow plug. Same message. I have put the glow plug wire and circle glow plug mount thing and checked continuity at the end that plugs into the ecu and there is continuity. It appears that the issue is before the wiring. Any ideas what is up? Engine has 66 runs on it. About 10 hours total and has run flawless until today. Thanks Edit. Yes. I have tried pulling the plug and touching to case while initiating start sequence. Get the same message.

RE: Diesel
ORIGINAL: grbaker
Personally, I grew up on a farm and the last thing I want my jets to smell like is a John Deere! Lol
Guys out at the field are always very surprised when I tell them that have been burning diesel for a year and a half. My jets don't smell any different than the other guys using kero. There is a big difference between the diesel of several years ago and the low sulfur diesel at the pumps today (at least here in the US)
What turbines are or have you run diesel through Gary?

RE: Fuel and Smoke tanks: best vent solution?
Invermast. I too do it the same way. My solution to the leaking fuel is a piece of tygon with a fuel plug. During transport or while working on the jet just install this over the vent tube. Simple and works I do like the looks of the dreamworks flush fitting though. Very slick
