RE: 100MPH HPI RS4 3 EVO+ ????
I just received my Ofna 19/26 pinion gear so I quickly removed my engine to replace it an once I out it on and tried to mesh with the 37/41 spur gears and realized how 1st gear is only being scratched so meaning I will definetly strip as I would try to launch. I remove the Ofna grad and replace it with my HPIs, I go shower and I'm thinking and thinking how it would fit. I came up with an idea if 19/26 pinion will not work with 37/41spur maybe I can use a bigger spur to reach it. So as soon as I finish showering I run to the garage to try a bigger spur gear and BINGO!!! I tried a 41/47 spurs onto it and it was a perfect match. So instead of using spur gears by the set if 4, I would have to go by counts of 6. So I will be using 37/43spur gears and my great luck I do have a 43 in my tool box. Coming tomorrow I will be replacing all gearing and see what speeds I can get and will post vids too.

So 100 is not possible with an .18? And I would hear from some folks that it would, I've only seen .21's get it done.

The off roaders seem pretty good. I've drove some and know some people that have them and seem great. Can take a beating and are fast. For the onroad, yes. You can use HPI rims and tires, shocks and springs along with their bodies too.

RE: HPI Savage X tuning issues
Check you glow plug may need replacement, What I would do is clean out the entire carb by removing the HSN and stick a pic or paper clip that will fit in it and make sure its all cleaned out then spray with nitro cleaner and same do for other parts that can be clogged.

RE: Vaterra On-Road 1/10
Ive looked into those cars and they have too many plastic parts, even parts that shouldn't be made out of plastic, are. Like all 4 shafts, center shaft and motor mounts. Once you upgrade to brushless you will have to replace all parts so it can handle the power. The mirror or accessories that the body has will easily break off. I think that most of the parts are on back order. The tires feel really thin and seem that they can wear out quickly and they are not belted.

RE: OFFICIAL HPI Sprint 2 Thread (Sport and Flux)
At the speeds I'm running my car catches wind and flies and flips. I had to add weight to the front end to keep it down. I also ordered a real racing body ROAR approved.

RE: OFFICIAL HPI Sprint 2 Thread (Sport and Flux)
Yes it is. It's castle creation though, older models came with that. That wasn't the top speed. That's why I wanted to gear it down to accelerate quicker and get to the Finnish line at top of my speed. As of now what it's doing is speed is still climbing at the Finnish line.

Hey everyone, I did some drag racing few weekends ago and I have a video to share with you guys. This is my sons Sprint 2 Flux with a 3s lipo battery, 30/78 gearing, foam tires, VHT sprayed on ground. 2.3 sec @ 56mph. I think I can posibly get a hit 2.1 if I could keed the car straight in the line , fix my launching problex( I think I get a small short when I slam the triger) and also change

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others
I used HPI brake off of the 18ss I did some drag racing in April in the 132 foot track and did 2.4sec at 54 mph with 43/47 spur gears. This past weekend I raced again and used 37/41 gearing and ran 2.4 at 56mph. What is causing me to run the same time? I understand the speed due to the gearing. My sons Sprint 2 flux was faster than mine. He ran a 2.4 at 58mph.

Brushless motor with the new mustang body, rear is higher that the front. All upgrades with carbon fiber chassis. Weight has been added to the front but will try to add the angled spacers to add downforce to the rear but front may still lift up.

RE: OFFICIAL HPI Sprint 2 Thread (Sport and Flux)
Racers, I have changed the my pinion to a 30 and spur to a 78. I tried doing some speed runs and my car catches wind, picks up , flies and comes down with cart wheels. I have the Mustang body with wing. Is my car doing this because of light weight or am I accelerating too hard at mid speed?

RE: OFFICIAL HPI Sprint 2 Thread (Sport and Flux)
Just got some parts in and did the work as I saw in some of you guys pics. I didnt do any holes, the rear post by the motor was broken, so I placed a belt tensioner there. It is very well adjustable and alignes perfectly. On the front belt i added another tensioner but without the plastic part, just used a longer screw to reach the other end. No nut needed there. It was all an easy fix.

RE: OFFICIAL HPI Sprint 2 Thread (Sport and Flux)
Called HPI with the problem. I explained what was going on with the pulley. They said that the two shaft mounts holding the pulleys has to be adjusted. Let me explain what part that is... Ok you see the left and right motor mounts, then there is the shaft that holds the pulleys, then you have the bearings sitting on those two round black plastic parts, well those two parts are not perfectly round, they are oval if you look carefully. HPI said that they have to be pointing furthest to the rear. I've tried it with a new set of pulleys, 5 minutes into the runs and show no sign of wear. I will keep running today and see how it goes so hopefully this works.
