RE: 3W Tigercat F7F
In doing research for a electric twin I found the blades should be "descending" toward the fuselage.

My friend has 2 in his hangar in Palo Alto Ca., uses them to fly people to ski resorts. Did mods to the rear of the nacelles to hold skis.

RE: CG hangar9 twin Otter
If your plane is trimmed out straight and level flight and your elevator is in a neutral position, sounds like the CG is perfect. Not much weight on the nose wheel as the plane sits on the ground sounds like the main landing gear is a little too far forward, too close to the CG. Hope this helps. Chuck

A friend of mine has a Twin Comanche, he keeps it in pristine condition with upgrades and immaculate paint. I flew with him one night from Hayward airport to Napa and back. We flew up the coast past San Francisco part way in the fog, kinda eerie, the bay area is a beautiful place in which to fly.

Had a chance to by a G-62 powered one at Castle one year but had no way to get it home at the time. Saw one fly at Castle, very scale, sounded great and looked good to. Good luck with the project.

RE: Interested in tow-release gliders
I agree with the cradle concept for the newbee flier, I think Tower Hobbies sells a kit. I use to tow sailplanes with a Bud Noson 106" Cessna powered by a Zenoah G-45 gas engine, my tow line was attached to the top of the fuse just behind the CG and was releasable... just in case.

I built the G.L. in the early 70's using wax paper, AMBROID and 5-min epoxy... I think "HOT STUFF" came out around 1975.

Looking good. I once bought a Canard Stick at a auction, looked allot like what you got there. I powered it with a Thunder Tiger 46 and took awhile to get use to the "visual" while flying it.

RE: G and L Nosen 310 parts
Off topic: I built a Bud Nosen Trainer years ago, it was a 106" Cessna with a G-45, dual strut nose wheel and BVM brakes just for the heck of it. Rigged it as a glider tug and also flew it as a fun flier. Nosen kits are a good deal considering all the wood you get. Good luck in your hunt. Chuck

RE: P 38 engine not sure
I've had the most experience with: Fox Miracle Plug, OS#8, Enya #3 and McCoy #8, all with no idle bar and I use 15% fuel with synthetic oil in most engines up to .90 size 2-strokes and 1.20 size 4-strokes. Larger 2-strokes require less nitro.

RE: P 38 engine not sure
I've seen allot of guy's fly with thumb and index finger on each stick but most flew heli's. I always use the best plugs, never had a failure on a twin. Had many failures in the early day's on singles using a variety of cheap plugs.

RE: P 38 engine not sure
Ditto on what jaka said. The safest way to fly a "glow" twin is with a on-board glow system, most all twin crashes are caused by one engine failure. You can make your own system or buy one, I make my own using a sub-C cell, toggle switch and glow plug connector, the connector should be available at your LHS. My system is on full time, the store bought systems have a adjustable RPM cut off. I would recommend a Hobbico Twin Star for your first twin, it is a "twin trainer" and fly's like any single engine trainer and will handle an engine-out just fine. I've had 3 Twin Stars, one with OS-40-FP engines, one with Thunder Tiger 36 engines and a VOLTER with AXI 2820 brushless motors. All flew great but the .40 size engines gave short flight times.

RE: P 38 engine not sure
I owned many Super Tiger engines, a .25 R/C, 8 or 9 90's both K and G models and a 3000, love them all. To my knowledge Super Tiger dose not produce a 4-stroke engine. I fly EVERYTHING with my thumbs. Happy New Year to all.

RE: P 38 engine not sure
A friend of mine went through all that crap with counter rotating engines, I did the same thing with a volter OV-10 Bronco, totally unnecessary. He sent one of his OS 4-strokes to OS to be reversed, the main problem he had at the time was finding the correct props. After a couple crash rebuilds he installed larger "unmodified" 4-strokes and after a few flights could find no difference in handling other than the increase in power which was a positive.

RE: Looking for first twin sugestions/advice
You tune each engine as usual and reduce the rpm on the faster engine to match the slower engines rpm. Always use the best glow plugs and I recommend 15% nitro/synthetic oil fuel. One of the speed demons in my club had a profile P-38/LA 25's running on 30% heli fuel, talk about a SCREAMER... and the engines held together.

RE: Looking for first twin sugestions/advice
Ditto on the Hobbico Twin Star, no muss no fuss, its a "twin trainer". (get 2) Rich Urivotch OV-10 Bronco, same 25 size engines, great little scale bird. I highly recommend using a full time on-board glow system, all you need is a sub-c nycad, toggle switch and two glow plug connectors available at your Radio Shack and LHS. The OBG system will insure no "engine outs" which is the #1 killer of twins however the Twin Star handles engine outs very well, just set the rudder for max throw when setting it up.

Three Hobbico Twin Stars, one with OS-40 FP engines, one with Thunder Tiger 36 engines and the third was a volter with Axi 2820-10 motors. Ace Sea Master with T.T. 36's. Usta be pics here on RCU somewhere. Gemini Twin with T.T. 36's. 60 size trainer with OS 50-FX engines and a camcorder in the nose and heavily modified landing gear. Urovich OV-10 with Axi 2820-10 motors.

RE: Engine Choice, for small Twin? 25's?
The biggest killer of twins is a "engine out", I always use a "on-board glow driver" system, home made and all the rudder I can get. Smallest set of twins I've used is Thunder Tiger 36's. Never cheap-out on glow plugs, I use fuel with synthetic oil and 15% nitro, 10% in cold weather. Chuck
