RE: 3DBatix foamy Extra 330 ROX!!
Thanks Mate!! Ummm weight, i belive it was 13oz's. been ages since i've flown it! i think if u build it a little bit smaller it will be perfect for the 370. i printd the plans out on tiled A4 sheets but i've started doing the full size prints and it is well worth the money to get them printed full size!! so much less fuss.

I have thermal probes on each of my components and everything is running at nominal temperatures. CPU (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13ghz processor) was running at 36.1 degrees celcius (no higher than usual) Video card (Gigabyte GeForce 7600GT with 256mb of DDR3 graphics ram, Freon cooling system) was wunning at 42 degrees celcius, it has been hotter without a problem. Thanks for your help!

RE: green drillable fibre reinforced plastic?
well, from what you've described that sounds like G10. I don't know much about it except that it is similar to the stuff they use in PC board?? it can also be used to make control horns (that is, only if it is the stuff i'm think it Chris B.

RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!!
I dont know about flht99b but i use an APC 17x12 narrow blade. it stops the motor from bogging up in the verticals so it is always producing the same amount of thrust. if your looking for dowline braking go the 17x12 normal blade. the only issue i find is that it really loads up in the verticals, especialy after a vertical snap.

I get my depron from a friend, but i believe Ian Howard of DA (Desert Aircraft) Australia can get some in but dont quote me on that[;)][:D] Iknow what you mean by not cheap i've paid up to $13 for a sheet of 6mm depron. but i suppose its better than paying $150 for those wooden plans that can't be repared after a ding[:D].

RE: 3DBatix foamy Extra 330 ROX!!
ORIGINAL: wvl Hi, I've made a 3Dbatix diablo, extra, and a foame2x. All planes fly great, only the 2x is much harder to fly when CG is set back. It'll knife edge without rudder assistance (I mean: it won't turn on ailerons only). Something I have to say though: the Axi 2212/34 is an excellent motor, but next time I'll have a 2208/34 to power the plane. It's a littlebit lighter, and has more than enough power. In general, the Batixplanes are a tad heavy, 6mm foam and the big axi make quite a load at the end. I plan on building a new extra, with all the weight saving I can get. The axi2212 lets the planes hover at half throttle, this means the planes are really overpowered. Getting the wing load down will allow for a lighter motor, and will have a positive affect on slow flight properties. I will probably also integrate airbrakes to increase airflow over the control surfaces. (slow flight with forced air (from the prop) passing over the controls gives much better reactivity). I also like nice painting or decals on a plane, but they increase the weight more than you think. I love my 3Dbatix planes! greetz.
Like i said, i dont get much of a chance to fly indoors so i dont mind my models being a bit heavier wing lodaing, i've tried the lighter way but i only ever got to fly it once evry two months[&o] because we get a fair bit of wind wihich would throw the plane around like a leaf! Sounds like an interesting idea you have there with the airbrakes!!!!! give it a try and let us all no how it goes!!!!!

RE: 3DBatix foamy Extra 330 ROX!!
bdavison, I rarely get a chance to fly indoors and its normaly pretty windy at my field so i wanted something that could handle the wind but still fly light for those calm days and the rare indoor flights. Staudacher, I can assure you this will be the greatest foamy you've ever flown!!!!!! i've been through a lot of foamies including own designs when i couldn't find foamies that flew like i wanted and none of them come close to this!!!

Hey mountaindr3wz Yeah thats me, i'm 14 [X(] and i've been flying for 4 years. great to see that i'm not the only younger pilot out there! Thanks for the kind comments, BTW, It flew today, and boy did it fly!!!! easily the best foamy i've ever flown so i'll cut another one out just for backup! unfortunatly no vid, the elevator pull-pull cable snapped before the second flight so no vid[:o] but i'll deffinately get some next time i take it out.

3DBatix foamy Extra 330 ROX!!
Hey guys and gals, I've almost finished my 3DBatix extra and i have to say im impressed! this plane just "looks right". im guessing its going to fly insane! I would normaly design my own foamy but this design just about had evrything i was looking for so why go through all the effort of drawing up plans. i made a few mods to get it to my likings ( bigger COUNTERBALANCED ailerons , slightly bigger elevator and bigger rudder). this was my first attempt at airbrushing so dont scrutinize it to much! Power setup is as follows: -HS-55's all round (i'm yet to find a better servo!) -Trusty old AXI 2212/34 -rclithiumpower.com 3s 830mah battery -JR R700 reciver ( yea its a bit heavy but i dont have the money for a micro rec) I've found this to be the ultimate setup with my foamies. i've attached some photos of the plane and a mug shot of plane and pilot I'll get some video this weekend when i fly it. So who else has had experiences with this foamy?????
