RE: OFFICIAL WHEELY KING CRAWLER THREAD
Alright I made my case for the tires. Ia m not going to argue them anymore. I like them. You may not. Are they better than Mashers or Moabs or Rock claws? I cant say from personal experience but no the are most certainly not any better I would guess. In certain circumstances, mine, they present advantages because of their size and tread. Again I agree with your assesment of wet traction which is terrible. I hope this clears things up.

RE: OFFICIAL WHEELY KING CRAWLER THREAD
That may be the case but these tires are different. Your definitly right about the open tread pattern though these babies clean anything out quick. Also I understand you problem with the swamp dogs but I dont think they were geared as much towards rock crawling like the red rocks.

RE: OFFICIAL WHEELY KING CRAWLER THREAD
I recently bought an AX-10( pictured above) that came with the Rock lizards. These tires grip extremely well don't get me wrong but in the dirty situations i run in the stickier compound is negated by a thin layer of dirt that gathers on the tires very quickly. The red rocks with their numerous giant knobs grab anything nearly as good as my own fingers.

RE: My Axial Crawler
Check this out, Iput an out runner in mine. E-flite park 480 from a plane I had. I had to make an adapter plate but it was totally worth it. I have been running a 2 cell lipo 2100mah and getting 40+ minutes on a single charge. I plan to order the axial battery mount for the front axle and run a 3 cell 1320, but I am a little concerned with the possibility of damage. I am going to try and find some kind of guard for it. With this setup the truck weighs less than 3.5 lbs. nearly half the weight of my Wheely king crawler.

RE: OFFICIAL WHEELY KING CRAWLER THREAD
I found the red rocks make up for their less grippy compound with flexibility and rugged knobs. Also check out these other pics. I have had the truck since it first came out. I have been addicted ever since. I originally picked my WK up for a change of pace. I bought a second days later to upgrade to 4wd 4ws. Now upgrades include: custom lower links custom steering rods custom servo bracket 65t integy lathe motor Pro-boat waterproof speed control JR rs310 syn rx Hitec 645 mg for steering and second for winch Traxxas T-maxx Lower control arms for the upper links T-maxx driveshafts locked Diffs Hardened steel final drives savage shocks custom adjustable shock mounts Axial bead locks W/rock rings Imex Red rock tires I still have a little ways to go though before i am satisfied.

RE: OFFICIAL WHEELY KING CRAWLER THREAD
I don't know if I agree with your assesment of imex tires. I have been running red rocks with great success.

RE: outboard motor?
I put the motor on a scratch built boat with the brushless system out of my supervee in it but stripped out the gears due to haveing messed with the mesh foolishly and probably the power. the gears are not available separatly and now I am stuck gearless with a useless outboard. I am tring to figure some alternative out but have found nothing. Any thoughts?

RE: Fast pro fisherman
I had the an ep-1 on a similar scratch built boat with the aquacraft brushless system out of my supervee and it was crazy fast. almost as fast as the supervee. Though due to so poor set up when setting the gear clearance in the lower unit and aged wear I stiped those soft brass gears out in 2 runs. Aquacraft does not sell them separate and i am now looking for an alternative gear set up. Any thoughts?

RE: Wheely king!
Sorry I am having trouble getting pictures loaded up but since my last set of mods I have added the following: Longer savage shocks 12.5 in wheelbase extension Pro boat speed control (for instant forward to reverse without any delay) Hitec 645 mg stering servo Custom longer steering rod I also removed the bottom half of the battery box and now mount the battery to the upperlinks for lower CG Hpi F5 wheels with Imex Red Rock Crawler tires Initially I had removed the wheely bar but after reversing the dirrection of the truck(see above) it proved useful as a front bumper/brush guard I have a new jeep boby waiting for a warm day to be painted The truck looks awsome wth the longer wheelbase and the Jeep body but does not articulate fully withut cutting it up, and the body is just to pretty for that. Anyway I hope to get pics up soon.

RE: Wheely king!
I bought two of these trucks and converted one to 4wd and 4ws, then I locked the diffs put a 65 turn lathe motor and reduced the gear ratio from the stock 24:1 to 30:1. I crawls awesome now. I also cut away the body took out the spring spacers to lower it and reversed the direction of the truck so that the battery was in the front for better crawling. It tops out at about 4 mph but can get over anything.
