RE: What size engine??
Thank you all. Well it apears the Electric way will be way to expensive. Got a good running Homelite 30cc yesterday, maybe it will be anough to push this "barge" to something better. Thanks, Chris

What size engine??
I built a 72" deep v hull. The boat is very light, and did so so with a 15cc trimmer engine..........too small. What size electric engine would any of the experienced users recomend? And where should I get it? TIA Chris

RC Boat range
Hi and Merry Christmas to all. Im new to RC boats. I received a ProBoat mini Vee for Christmas. With fresh batteries in the transmitter and fully charged boat battery, my range is only about 40-50 FEET. Also there is a lot of hesitation in steering and throttle response. Anybody have a solution to this, or is this what it is on the lower price range? Thanks, Chris

RE: Tips for stablizing your truck in the air
ORIGINAL: HidosDeBrazil Wow I went out and practiced my jumps all weekend at my local track I broke 18.00 dollars worth of parts on Saturday and 7.50 today.  My truck some times would randomly do a front somersault even with my hitting the throttle any ideas.
The jump was probably inconsistent, not the same angle at all points of a jump.

RE: Best .21 engine break in with-out a heat gun ? Recomindations?
Your spending money on a drag tuned engine but you are too cheap to buy a $10-$15 heat gun? If you preheat the engine for the first gallon you can easily extend the life of your Piston/Sleeve/Conrod by a few gallons.

RE: slash 4x4- changing shock oil
Move the shock up and down without having the piston get out of the oil (that will cause huge air bubbles) to get rid of all the air bubbles. If you can, let the shocks sit overnight but 10-20 minutes is fine, just so the air bubbles have time to rise up to the top.

RE: $150 for a Losi 8ight 1.0 Roller
Too expensive, 1.0's are cheap and the chassis is worn. Also by the screws the guy used for his steering top plate I would assume he doesnt know much about the cars. There should be button head screws for the steering top plate. Also he doesn't have the shock boots. You can find a better condition 1.0 or 2.0 for a better band for your buck than that. Heck, I bought my 1.0 for $75 over a year ago before I upgraded to the 2..0 The 2.0 is much better.

I wouldn't count one, thing of how many different molds AE wold have to make. They really dont have a platform designed for 1/10 4wd SC. They will have one eventually, but not within the next few months at least.

RE: Operating new Track Need Insurance?
ORIGINAL: The Juice I think his question was about ROARS insurance. Does anyone know how their coverage works?
It's cheap, like $50 a year. But the downside is EVERYBODY who steps foot on the track has to have ROAR insurance ($30 a year). It is just way easier to get insurance frm a broker rather than ROAR because everybody has to have ROAR insurance.

RE: Operating new Track Need Insurance?
Disclaimers don't work in the greedy hands of a sue-friendly lawyer. $2million liability insurance, get it from a broker. Should be anywhere from $800-$1200 a year.

RE: I've got that RC itch...
ORIGINAL: abp667 I'm trying to find out if my local track has a 4x4 SC class that I could run a Slash in if I went that route. They do have 1/8 buggy & truggy classes. Any advice on a nice entry level 1/8 setup (ie - kit, esc/motor, transmitter/receiver, servo etc...) I'm thinking about piecing the parts together over a couple of months time. I'm also looking at the Kyosho Inferno VE ready set but I need to find out how the local parts support is. Anyone have any experience with the inferno? Thanks again for all the help
Might want to go the 2wd route if they race SC trucks, as 2wd is alot more popular than 4wd just because they have been out longer and are cheaper. It will cost you alot more for a 4wd electric buggy, probably aorund $700 in the end, but it will handle much better and be alot more durable than the Slash 4X4. That being said, I would still reccomend a 2wd SC like a Blitz, SC10, Slash, etc just because they are more popular for racing. Then you have extra money to upgrade.

RE: My own NiMh battery observations....
ORIGINAL: cummins driver Maybe mine were used more than I was told when I got them? They work fine, they just only take 3300mah usually. And yes, it is really nice to be able to see how much of a charge the batteries take. It helps to keep an eye on the batteries and gives an idea of their condition and if they are getting worse or not. Im not used to all this technology[:D] Eric
Do you discharge the cells down to .9 volts each (5.4 total) then charge the battery?

The arms are a different material, new front and rear hubs, new lighter shock towers with simpler mounting positions, shimmable rear diff case, longer chassis, new brake dics, 4mm turnbuckles (they look alot nice and save weight), radio tray, it all adds up.

RE: In your opinion what is the most bullet proof 4x4 out there?
ORIGINAL: MCSRacing the slash 4x4 is a way capable racer ... was finishing set up on mine .. doing battle with 2 electric 1/8 scales, and holding my own very well until all 4 stub axles bent on the triple. MIP will solve the bent axle problem, most likely very soon too. as far as durable that seems to be the only weak link on the slash 4x4. as the guys said above, the savage will kick butt for some serious bashing tho!!!
The 4X4 PE wont hold a chance stock against the Ofna Hyper 10SC and the Jammin SCRT10. No comparison

RE: i want front brakes...ideas?
It is more trouble than its worth. The rustler was designed for speed runs, nothing else. Your best bet would be to add bushings to the front of the car to give the front wheels some resistence when runing, which would be like drag brake.

You want 0 offset rims and buggy tires, with truggy tires you will need truggy gearing for all 3 diffs and the truggy chassis/body.
