E-Flite UMX ASK-21 Glider Bungee Launch Maiden
At last the Maiden of the UMX ASK-21 Bungee Launch and what a hoot it was. The ASK-21 went up with ease and surprisingly got good hight from the supplied bungee cord. It should be real easy to pick up a thermal if any are around from the height gained. The flight day i had was not the best weather wise, but the only opportunity we had, so i grabbed it. Now Corinne tried her best to capture the launches but i can tell you this is a "Little" white object going up into white clouds and was not easy for Corinne or the camera, but there is enough to show this baby off, so please no comments on quality, we do our best with the little knowledge and equipment we have for this job. Now this being an Ultra Micro glider the wind did push it around a bit and i had a little trouble landing with the turbulence coming from the school buildings, i think a little ballast might of helped in the wind i had. But all up this is a keeper and from the launches i had i was quiet happy with the results. Next up will be either the aero tow or from the slope, looking forward to both thats for sure, anyway sit back and enjoy the first flights of the new E-flite UMX ASK-21 Glider cheers chuck [link]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGJUETnMTdY[/link]

RE: Crash of a $6000 2.6m 100cc Krill Katana
hi all, Yes the Krill Katana was composite and although the crash looked soft the body was cracked and split beyond repair, the wing was the same. on a good note all the innards were fine and he has replaced the airframe and got a new plane for around the $2000 mark. Oh and yes it was set more for IMAC as this is what he flies, he had another plane with him too. He said to me he just didn't have enough prop to pull out of the mistake he had made. he knew it was all his fault and was kicking himself after it, but hey! like has been said, If you play with fire, your get burnt one day" [;)] cheers chuck

RE: ParkZone UM Spitfire Mk IX BNF w/ AS3X
here it is, the bonus flight of the Parkzone Ultra Micro Spitfire, this time the plane is silhouetted against the clouds and sun, no close ups, so you can get a perspective of just how fast and well this plane manoeuvrers in the air. I must say it is a joy to fly and really looks the part silhouetted against the sky, so sit back and enjoy a 3 minute flight of Parkzones new UM Spitfire, again many thanks to Mike from OMP for supplying this plane way ahead of the release date so we can all get a good look at her ya know a quick visit to the Modelflight facebook page and a "Thanks" for supporting chuck, might just help to keep these new releases coming early to me so i can show you all how they fly, takes but a few seconds to say thanks, as they do not come on the forums and see your thanks here cheers chuck [link]http://www.facebook.com/Modelflight[/link] [link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTZiSyEgZfk[/link]

RE: ParkZone UM Spitfire Mk IX BNF w/ AS3X
Here it is at last, with thanks again to Mike from OMP, the latest release from Parkzone in the Ultra Micro range, It's a War Bird, but not just any War Bird, it's the legendary Spitfire Mk IX, with the latest AS3X technology on board to make your flying experience even better. It's also a baby brother for the Parkzone Spitfire released in the Park Flyer range last year and what a beauty this plane is too. The detail is right up there with the best and the only thing i could see that would have been nice was a pilot to go in the excellent canopy, that has a realistic dash inside. Well lets get this video rolling so you can have a close up look at this new offering from Parkzone the UM Spitfire Mk IX With AS3X hope you all enjoy this video, keep an eye out for the maiden coming soon [8D] cheers chuck [link]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oK5nfvK3LA[/link]

RE: My Blade 400 took off by itself, Danger!
i had a similar experience that made me soil my underwear [X(] i had turned on my Tx, plugged my Battery in and then turned the throttle hold on, i went to pick up Tx and accidental pressed the roller button, which rolled onto model select and entered this program, i cacked myself and held it, while i thought what to do, but after 3 seconds it started to reset itself and as soon as it did the heli started to spool up, it was getting faster and faster when all of a sudden the Tx beeped and the heli then spooled down [8D] i now take extreme care not to put my fingers anywhere near the roller for fear of doing this again cheers chuck

RE: Moving up to Blade 400
[quote]ORIGINAL: Wolfpackin The best way to make the B400 more tame is to use Dual Rate and Expo in the TX. Since you are coming from the CX2 you will want to make the sticks and heli less responsive. I would suggest setting the D/R on aileron and elevator to about 80%, this will limit the overall throw of those servos. Then set the Expo for those two channels to about +20%, that will make the sticks less sensitive around the center point. I would leave the rudder channel D/R at 90% or 100% and maybe add +10% Expo. The tail is not overly responsive so more D/R & Expo is not needed. Check the DX6i manual for a good description of these functions. I also came straight from the CX2 and used the above settings. I have since lowered them to: AIL 100% +15% ELE 100% +15% RUD 100% +5% Note: In the DX6i "+" Expo makes the stick less sensitive around center and "-" makes it more sensitive. I hope that helps. [/quote] My Good Buddy [;)] you must have this saved in "Word" by now [:D] for all us new noobs who come in and ask the same question [:)] Wolfs a great help and gave me a good starting point to go from, also explained a few things i didn't quiet understand and i thank him for this. as he and many others say, they can only give you a guide, as everyone works out what "They" like in the end and on that i personally went to 30% Expo as "I" felt more comfortable at that setting, as it still seemed a bit twitchy for me at 15% even 20%, but 30% feels good for now and when learning to fly you need to feel good with everything, got enough to worry about without worrying about the heli being over sensitive at the sticks [;)] one tip he does give is to increase your head speed by adjusting your throttle curve and a great tip it is [sm=thumbup.gif] made the heli rock steady in the square, yep i'm not flying yet i'm learning the Rudd Rotary Flight way and it won't be long before i'm hovering thanks to the people on these forums who help out [sm=shades_smile.gif] thanks guys cheers chuck PS Wolf a fly fisherman aye [8D] i've fly fished for 18 years now love it, what do you mainly fish for? Trout at a guess where you live?

RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics
[quote]ORIGINAL: Wolfpackin ChuckT I've got so much info from so many places that it would be hard for me to point you in any one direction. Once you are ready to start things up with the B400 just PM me or post your question and I can almost guarantee that I will read and respond to it. For a softer setup try lowering the Dual Rates and adding Expo. Something like: AIL- 80% +20% ELE- 80% +20% RUD-100% +10% Should work nicely for you. [/quote] thanks heaps for that, it's the sort of thing i was looking for, like you i have been reading heaps but unfortunately i forgot to save it all thinking i'd find it easy again, how wrong i was hahahahah again thats for your help and i will take up your offer of help if i get stuck cheers chuck

[quote]ORIGINAL: Wolfpackin Solo, Bite the bullet and get a Blade 400. I have been compiling pages of notes and links to assist you with your "Blade 400 Ultimate Setup Guide".[:D] [/quote] Hi another noobie here, just wondering if you can point me in the right direction for these helpful tips to set up my Blade 400 up, i've read a few different peoples and am a little confused, i'm moving on from my LamaV3 which i fly quiet well, have been practising on the sim and soon hope to start flying/hovering my Blade, but i would like to know what/who's is the best setting to use for my first few attempts of flying, i want to tune it right down as docile as possible [:D] any help appreciated [;)] cheers chuck
