RE: Is it possible to run 4 motors in a car
I like the idea but i think it would be hard. You would need a really light car for the size or oversized wheelhubs i dont see motors that would fit powering a car well. Also in a corner the diffs allow you wheels to spin at differnet speeds. Using 1 esc would be like driving with locked diffs all the time. I would love to see it done though. Even if it only goes in a straight line

RE: building brushless rc car
For the price the Hobbywing setups are good find em on Hobbypartz.com. I cant seem to paste the link. I run one on my 1/8 scale. Don't forget your gonna need more than a motor and chassis ex. Radio gear steering servo battery charger for battery. As for a chassis there are numerous kits out there. Most people i see pointing out the tamiya kits. Though i have no experience with them. Or check ebay for a roller. As for the speed 60 km h is roughly 37 mph which with a brushless setup shouldn't be at all hard to do.

RE: Body on, Engine off
Perhaps the body is hitting somewhere? Have you made any changes to to way things are routed under the body? Perhaps its kinking a fuel line or pressing on your carb?

Thx for the helps guys ill deff try adjusting the punch most of the flips are powering out of corners some even at really low speeds. though i do take some too high to start. perhaps ill just take more trips to the local sand pit nitro vs electric they are both fun just i suck at tuning the nitro when i did have to going good it was a blast but it seemed i was tuning it every time the ease of plugging in a battery and going it what got me to swap ill get photos up sometime soon when i manage to find my camera

Buggy just flips
I recently swapped my hurricane xtr over to brushless. The power is great but i cant seem to keep it on its wheels in corners. Ive mainly been running on grass. And tried many diff suspension set ups. Its seems to just bite down and flip over when i give it gas. Any suggestions on what i may be doing wrong? I think it just get too much traction on the grass and wont slide.

I recently started using lipos myself so far im a fan. The nimhs would get quite hot when used the lipo doesnt heat up at all. Charging isnt much diff if you have the right charger i have an ac6 i belive and i just plug the 2 plugs in and go. All the settings from my last charge are there already. I just picked up some lipo sacks just as a precaution. Lipos in most cells phones now a days. And i sleep with my phone charging under my pillow(i know not smart). All in all ill be getting more as long as you dont abyse them their fine. Accidents can happen but thats why thier accidents.

Beginner heli
So upon me breaking out my rc car again my buddy started looking for a heli. He has no experience with rc. He's looking for an electric but beyond that we know nothing of rc heli. Browsing around we found http://www.xheli.com/eskyheli-e301-lamav4-24ghz-silver.html but he's looking for more info. Perhaps some suggestions. It will be mainly used outdoors. Any help is appreciated. As for price range he's not looking to spend a whole lot but just throw your .02 in and we'll see where he ends up

RE: why you don't have to run flat out
It could be that as a boat goes faster the hull resistance lowers since its works by skimming over the top of the water. Less resistance less amp draw But a car the resistance doesn't lower so its just gonna draw more amp at top speed

Hurricane xtr question
So i recently decided to swap my xtr to eletric. I like nitro just suck at tuning it. Picked up a brushless 2250kv motor esc combo and a 3300mah 4s lipo. Waiting on the parts to come in but im not sure what ill need for a pinion. Ive looked around and it seems like there are diff "styles" of pinions. Any one happen to know what the xtr uses or a way to tell by looking at it.

RE: Rudder control
I already moved the rudders out I figured that could be an issue just at them time that was the easiest set up. I woulda preferred behind the prop but I don't have the means to fab my own aluminum brackets. As for monofiliament the line I'm usig isn't mono it's a braided line. there aren't any real sharp areas for it to wear on even the holes in he rudder arms have a convex edge. I don't see my line snapping for any reason short of a real hard crash but I feel if the line breaks then the boat probally will too.

RE: Rudder control
well i set it up this weekend its yet to hit the water but its looks like it will work ignore the boat its my 2nd attempt at glassing a boat the reason i was avoiding push rods my last boat it would fall off no matter what i tried to get it to stay and by using linesi could mount my servo anywhere and not have to worry bout bends etc 1 photo is of the rudders i may move them out from the prop more but that was the easy spot to mount the other is of the servo line come off and go into a couple rubber hoses ill pack with grease to keep the water from leaking in

RE: Good bashing spots and trespassing
what you call harmless, someone else may call vandalism
100% agree I used to pave walkways patios etc and we would have some one go there the day before a level and pack the area with stone dust. Well 1 place a guy want paying att to his kids and they thought it would be fun to play there they dug it up built jumps etc. We lost a day of work due to that. My 1/8 tears up grass let alone dirt. But when it comes down to it trespassing is illegal and always try and get permission. I got it easy my family owns a sand pit. But if any one else was to use it cops would be called. Even with signs and fences if you were to get hurt there say trip going to flip your car over or not see the 50ft cliff(exazageration). They can be held liable. Like dome one said get a number and call its not gonna hurt to try.

RE: Rudder control
The line I'll be using is 30# braided spiderwire it's supposed to not stretch. If it does fail I'll have to goto a wire of sorts i just have the line already. And there will be bends in the system so wire may not work. I'll hopefully have it rigged up this weekend I'll try and post some photos if I think of it. If I wasn't on my iPod I could draw a rough idea of what it would look like. Good call on the glue I would never have thought of that and woulda run it and lost steering.

Rudder control
I'm building a boat and it's going to have a dual rudder setup. I came across an idea in a plane forum where you control the rudders using a 2 strong pieces of fishing line. They called it a pull pull system. In short you have 2 lines coming off your servo and you connect them to either side of the rudder. In this case 1 to each rudder then run a line between the 2 rudders. I'm wondering if this will work with boats they were using t on float planes but I think boats are gonna have more force to deal with.

RE: Lengthening the cables
I'm just gonna solder in some extensions. Im not sire what type of amps I'll be pulling and I do know that using connector extensions causes more resistance. It's a set up for a boat using a traxxas 775 motor and evx 2 esc I wanna use the biggest prop I can and that's just pulls more amps. I just wasnt sure if solderig in extensions caused too much resistance compared to whole new wires.

Lengthening the cables
I recently got some batteries but I need the wire tobe longer what's the best way of doing this. Do I put all new wires on comming from the battery? Can I just snip the wire and solder in an extension between the battery and connector? Or perhaps build an extension with a connector at both ends? The packs are 8.4 Nimh 5000mah.
