RE: 1/4 Sig cub: need help with firewall movement for engine
Neddy191 Check out my site on adding the wire to the top. Look for section on building an open door and window. kork I would recommend adding some triangle or square stock on both sides of the firewall.

RE: Evolution G26 tunning issue
I pulled the carb last night and pulled the needles and cleaned everything out. It did have a little in the filter, but not much. Put it all back together and will try it again to night. I could get it to drop down to about 2300 rps but if I go any lower it starts a slow die. This is in a scale plane so I would never gun the throttle from an idle. I can slow the servo through the radio I think. I do love the top end at 8000. With out the cowl it is running around 200 deg on the ground. With the cowl it was around 350, I added a 60mm square 5v pc fan with a shround to cover half the cylinder. Now she is running around 230 to 240 on the ground. In they air i hope it will cool off a little more. I added a baffle at the back of the cowl to also help suck the air out. Dont say it you need more openings, but this is the scale plane and hate to cut in to the cowl.

Evolution G26 tunning issue
Hey guys I have a G26 that I have been flying for a couple years so it is broken in. Just retuning it Can not get the good low end. Running a 18 6 prop If I tune it for what sound like a good idle around 2600 rpm it will set for ever holding it to the t, but when I hit if full open fast it hesitates before going to full throttle at 8000 rpm I can open the low up to a idle where it runs from 2800 to 3000 back and forth but I can nail the throttle and it will hit 8000 with out a thought. Running klotz oil at 40:1 with regular gas

RE: Sig 1/4scale C/W Cub build
I have a Evolution G26 Gas burner under the hood on my L-4. The plane is around 17 pounds. Power is great I can fly it scale but also has a little extra power to use if needed. This fits total under the hood except for the plug. Now for the issues I have. The carb sets in front of the engine like a glow. It is the standard big carb as most gas engines. This blocks what little air that comes thru the holes in the front of the cowl. With that said this runs hot when it is coweled in. with this said, I have just built from 1/64 ply a shroud from the side and have a small pc fan mounted to blow air across the head. This is a 5 v fan so it will run off of my 4 cell ignition pack. I have yet to give it a try, hope to try it this weekend due to a event at our filed next weekend.

Thanks for all who have made donations. I was told about GoDady hosting, so I took a look and they are cheaper. In the past 24 hours enough has been donated to pay for 2 years of hosting at Go Daddy. They are about half the price, Thanks for all your help.

RE: ***CUB BROTHERHOOD***
Sad news for The Cub Den. Come October 17 the site may go offline. Sometimes in life, we have to put our hobbies on the backburner for family and life. Due to some medical issues my wife is having, my family is trying to make it on my income alone so funds for the hobby are zero. It’s coming time to pay for my webhosting. I currently have my site with Just Host, and it is a little over $100

RE: Evolution 26GX
I have the old model of evolution that has the plug out the top. My big issue is cooling it. with the carb in front, and the muffler to the side i'm having issues of designing some baffles to help Chanel air for cooling. this is on a cub that has opening for air around the dummy cylinders. i have thought of using a PC fan to pull and blow air from the opposite side then the muffler. RE: Sig 1/4scale C/W Cub build
Yes it would fly slower according to the prop you are running, but if you were to need some power to get out of something, i dont think you would have it. I would say that setup would need full power to take off and climb out just to get it in the air. Now take taht plane at 15 pounds and it would be a different story

RE: Sig 1/4scale C/W Cub build
guys I know we are talking about a 1/4 Cub, but not all Cub's are built nor fly alike. I have a 1/4 scale Sig cub that weighs in around 19 pounds with a G38 on it. Yes I built it back many years ago and built it like a rock plus a lot of scale details. I also have a hanger 9 cub straight.... I would bet you a 20 would fly the 15 pound cub but would be a handful on the 19 pound cub.

RE: towing banners
I have flown the flag wher I used a sailplane release on the bottom to drop the flag/banner when i was finished. Also used a couple bomb drops on the plane to take the plane the flag and banner up. In the air pull the throttle back and hit the bomb drop to deploy the flag, when finished I would com back over the run way and drop it having a guy on the grown to catch it.

RE: Sig 1/4 J3 Kit converted to PA-18 Super Cub (Build)
From all my years in this hobby, you cub looks very repairable. as others have said take a month or two off from it. My cream cub was in a mid air....Well mid ground hit, I was hit by another plane landing when i was taxining back to me. it set for a year before I rebuilt it back.
