I hear ya! I wouldn't trust putting on a bus either. They make to many stops, to many chances for things to get lost! Good luck on your sale!

WHAT!!!! Your selling it after all your hard work. I would love to have your plane and the finish the dakota kid lettering on it. I'm scratching my head, wanting to buy it from you, but shipping would put the price to high for me?

ESM 74" Corsair three piece wing question
I am in the process of putting together my corsair and was wondering if a person could make a three piece wing out of it. I believe the 50CC size corsair is made for a detachable three piece wing. How does the construction differ from the 74" to the 50cc. In the wing spar their is a spot that a person could pin to hold the wing in, the only mod I would have to do is place a wing bolt thru the wheel well into the outer wing panel to snug up the outer wing to the center section. Let me know if I am missing something. I would like to see how the 74" wing compares to the 50cc wing. Please post some pics if you can. Thanks Terrell

RE: Restoration of my H9 P51 .60....
As far as Long Island Kid goes, the pilot's crew chief was from Long Island, so Noble let him put his markings on it also. I believe he still resides there to this day. Terrell

RE: Restoration of my H9 P51 .60....
Hi Firestone, I just caught your thread and was blown away that you are going with dakota kid for your P-51. I was wondering if you have any ties with the plane. The reason I'm asking is Dakota Kid II was own by a Henry Reichert of Bismarck ND, I live about 20 miles away from him. I have seen the plane fly many times over town. He also visits us at our local rc field on occasions also. I have many pictures of Dakota Kid II if you need some for reference. I'm currently working on a TF giant P-51d, which will be Dakota Kid II. I wanted to get the autograph of the original pilot, Noble Peterson, but he passed about alittle over a year ago. Noble also lived fairly close also. I will be watching your progress on Dakota Kid II. Keep up the good work. Terrell

RE: Direct sunlight effect on radio & monokote
If your plane will actually be exposed to direct sunlight, just put a blanket over it. It will keep it cool and protect it from fading. I made the mistake once with a parkzone spitfire by not covering it. By the end of the day, the wings were warped, luckily I just got the heatgun out and reversed the warp. From now on, any plane that will be in direct sunlight in a vehicle gets a blanket! Terrell

RE: What does your club do to promote itself!
Thanks everyone for the input that you have given, our club does alot of the same events also. We have a mall show coming up on March 5, fun fly in June and September and try to do a snow fly in January. I guess the main thing I was wanting to see was how your clubs promote itself to the public when you have these events, such as (event flyers, newspaper articles, tv advertisments, club brochures, etc). With the being said, would anyone have any type of advertisement they could post to show me. I am not very creative when it comes to making advertising flyers and such. Thanks Terrell bamrcflyers.org

What does your club do to promote itself!
I'm curious to see what other clubs do to promote their club and this hobby. I'm a member of a fairly new club "06" and like all clubs only have a few members that take charge to do something. I want to be one of the take charge people to help promote this club. I have wanting to do a two fold flyer promoting the club and some type of fundraiser. So any type of feedback is greatly appreciated. Please show me any type of advertising you may do also. Thanks Terrell [link]http://bamrcflyers.org[/link]

RE: Miracle switch with fuel dot
I was considering putting this on a gasser plane. But with gas fumes so close by I don't think it is a good idea. When a person goes to disconnect the fuel line after fueling, their is always the chance of fuel getting on something!

Miracle switch with fuel dot
I am wondering if the Miracle switch with the fuel dot built-in is a good idea. Should the switches be explosion proof, especially being right by the fuel. Possiblity of fuel getting on the switch and POOF! Let me know what you guys think. Terrell http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/ns/images/items/MRC1SWITCHDOTBLACK.jpg

NCIS You think -17 below with the wind chill is cold. When I got home at 10:30 last night it was -19 without the wind chill and I believe the wind was blowing about 15 to 20. Tomorrow, is a big change, mid 30's [/quote]

RE: OS 91 Surpass bearings need replacing HELP
Just go a head and replace the main bearings just like the 2 stroke and as far as the cam bearings go, there are timing marks on the cam and the case. Keep them aligned when reinstalling cam with the piston in TDC .

RE: Where is your workshop
You say your addition is well insulated, then your addition probably has a moisture barrier to help keep moisture and heat out. You should have no problem with your planes out there. If moisture ends up being a problem, just get a portable dehumidifier. I have my workspace in my garage with no problems, I keep it heated at 70. No problems here even with my wifes van melting off everyday during the winter. Terrell

RE: Sig Extra 330 - AX 120?
Yesterday I flew my Extra 300sx fitted with a DL50. Ya its overpowered, but you dont always have to fly full throttle. Its nice to have back up power! Anyways, I dont think you will like the 120, this plane is a pig, you will have to add alot of nose weight to get it to balance. With the Dl50, it balanced right on the money, no extra weight needed. Why not add more power instead of dead weight. One more thing to remember, when landing, don't chop the throttle too much, it sinks like a pig. I know from experience. R.I.P Terrell

Thank you for shedding some light on this. So you do apply it like flight metal or alum. tape. I was afraid it had to be put on like monokote, in big sheets instead of being able to make panels. Which grade of dyna-skin are you using, I see there are several! Thanks Terrell
