RE: Organized R/C Tank Clubs & Insurance?
If you have homeowners insurance, check with them. My house ins. covers transportation to and from the event, at the event liability and property damage to the amount of my policy. I did check for event group coverage for SWAG (our club) and it was unreal. You might try AMA. I called them once and asked if they cover tanks. There is a size limit but they said they will. My cats where way beyond the limit so no go for me.

RE: Is this real or Photoshop?
I have seen this picture before. The following discription was provided. The "plow on the Tiger is not a snowplow to clear a road, but to enable the Tiger to move in the snow. Without it the front of the hull will pack snow under the center of the tank. the Tiger will move forward packing more and more snow under it until the snow supports more of the tank's weight than the track uses for traction. When it reaches this point the tank stops moving forward and the tracks just spin. The vehicle is stuck unti the snow is dug out or the tank is pulled off the packed snow. The plow diverts the snow from the hull to be packed under the tracks, keeping the weight of the Tiger on its track and not the hull botom. The tank can keep moving forward or backwards in its own path

Good luck lifting that one. [:@] Cactus Tracks Tanks is working on a 1/6th Pershing at the moment. Its not listed on the web site though. It will be delivered assembled. Price would be the same as any other high end 1/6th toy.

RE: 1/6 stuart-plan for a gun with a
Im guessing the internal pressure will be a little much for the Stuart turret. I have a "disposable" Stuart that I would like to try this on. You can find poppers on the internet. My last bunch came from Tenn. if I remember right. I just got a Lee .12g reloader and will be starting the learning process for black powder blanks. I have an Armortek 12 guage unit in my Jagdpanther. I'll be watching your progress BIGMIG.[:D]

RE: M3 Halftrack metal body & chassis 1/6
That "H-13" halftrack was done by Victor Lou of Southwest Armor Group. All the detail parts & paint/weathering where added by him. That unit was going to be converted to rc but was never finished. Randy Killen is the designer/producer of the kit. (http://www.randykillendesign.com/) Randy has a new project that will probably be announced at the Weekend of Heroes event in June. It will be in 1/6th scale and I think it will be well received. There are more pictures at our website [link=http://www.southwestarmorgroup.com]Southwest Armor Group[/link] in the gallery section.

RE: black powder
I have a 12g, six shot, black powder blank unit in my Jagpanther. It uses short (1" ) blank shells. Sometimes I just fire primers. Needs to be cleaned after every use and handled with respect. Not only because of the powder but the 24v motor and exposed gears can be hard on fingers. Nice boom, plenty of smoke. Electronics are protected behind a bulkhead. Follow the link to a few pics. RE: New 1/6 Scale Tank
Im not big on British armor but I like the Comet. Being mfg. in England I think it will sell very well there. Depending on the number produced it will probably sell out quick. There is also two all metal 1/6th static models comming out. Not from Armortek but from China. A Stug and a Hetzer. I will be looking seriously at them for rc'ing. The Hetzer is around $1050.00 plus shipping. Very reasonable for all metal 1/6th.

RE: 1/6th Jagdpanther
These are the results of six years collecting. I have several more Stuarts but they are stock in the box. I built one Tam Sherman and then moved to 1/6th. Never looked back. Im thinking 1/4th next. Space is starting to be an issue. Sheograth, Its true the Armorteks sell out fast and with a small production run it dosent take long. I have a large collection of photos from the Jagd. build. Esp. problem areas. For an expensive kit they dont go together anything like you would think. Major file work.

Big scale guys are still around, just quiet. I will finish my Armortek Jagdpanther in about three weeks. Waiting on motors. Then its either a 1/6 elephant or converting a 1/6th Patton command car to rc.

Try the following. Armorpax.com, R-C-Tanks.com, steeldragons.net for a few. Keep in mind that steel dragons is VERY slow (at least for me) at shipping but has always come through. If you want some excellent tracks try emailing Jack (jackntbox@yahoo.com). These offer much better traction as well as looking like the real thing. Jack is also working on some very nice idlers. Ask about the srew hole plugs too. I know Jack is busy filling orders so there may be a little wait.
