RE: Aero Works P-51?
If anyone out there wants to buy another Aeroworks,I have one all finishd ready to go with a DA50 .I will make a smoking deal to someone .I'm selling out of the hobby for good.

hard starting DA50
50:1 approx, change plugs ,non-ethenol premium gas,and Its still a bear to flip start,In fact it won't,I have to try to use a starter ,choke it and then it will fire.it will restart will a flip or two unless it sits for an hour. My question is what can I do to improve its starting ,without buying some giant stater and dragging out a car battery?I have a nice new DA50 powered P-51 and I really don't want to chew up the spinner tryin to get it started .Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

RE: Aero Works P-51?
,Thanks You gave me an Idea.I'll move the flaps to an aux channel and use the flap /elev mix, which is what I'm using on my Comp-arf right now.It works great and I can adjust either servo for better trim.Zeeb your a genius and you didn't even know. Thanks again.

RE: Aero Works P-51?
You are correct Zeeb, the early version sequencer required a resistor, but not on the newer ones. Next question is,How to mex the elevator halves on my 9cap?Iv'e done it before using a flap elev. mix,but flaps are being used.Any suggestions?

RE: AEROWORKS P-51 BUILD THREAD
yep,I had a set in my Comp-arf P-51 ,that I sold in a move of extreme dumbness.I don't know what production run my kit is .I understand some changes have been made to improve the gear, but I plan on tearing them apart and check .As with the economy ,my model budget has suffered so I don't want to get any deeper than I need to accomplish the the mission,of having FUN.

DA 50 TUNING
Now that i have read some of the forums I'm confused.Problem is: I'm running the engine up (purchased used in a Comp-arf yak, appears to have very little time on it) and its not clearing out and I'm burning tons of fuel from earlier flights. I have only run a gallon and a half through at this point ,and I experience dead sticks if I idle down.On the ground the idle seems fine.Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.I have had a da 100,and a 150 without any issue.

DUAL BATTERY SYSTEM QUESTION
I'm running a 9cap transmitter, with a Spectrum ar 7000,a Miracle dual battery switch, running 2 Nimh batteries (1700mah).The question is ?how do I use the 2 (redundant) batteries with this set-up?Do I use a y-harness for the batteries or plug one battery into the power terminal on the recv'r and the other battery into an aux.channel on the recv'r?and will these or another combination give me the redundancy of 2 batteries packs so in the event of a failure the system will still function safely. This system is in my Comp-arf 50c.c. yak thank you

RE: da -85 good ,bad ,ugly??
cool,I like the idea of a 85 cc size IMAC plane. 50 cc is to small, and 100 cc are to big to transport(for me).

RE: AW P-51 vs TF Giant P-51
I thinkI'm getting the TF mustang, more about the $$,since they are so close in a lot of other aspects. My personal belief is that they are both pretty good,so the price is more of a factor. If the AW was composite ,I'd be all over it,But thats a lot a dough for covered plane.I do like the seqeuncing doors .I've had to do that a few times and it is a pain in the arrss. If I had more money to throw around (like a few years back ) I would probably go with the .I have had Aeroworks planes before and they are nice.I really would like to have another Comp-arf P-51 ,but I'm not building as much lately to get into a project like that. thanks for all the input ,it did help me clarify my choice.I'll post up my personal feelings after flight #1

RE: AW P-51 vs TF Giant P-51
Yep,Zeeb ,thats what i'm trying to find out. What are the side by side, blow by blow differences between the two planes.I would fly one in funscale ,or whatever its called now.Scale competition has always been my favorite (inspite of the problems it has).I will do it now for the fun of it,I just want a p-51 that won't be a pain to put together and keep in one piece.Fidelity to scale is a minor concern otherwise i'd build a swizzle stick and put invasion stripes on it[:D] .Lets be cool here ,we are only talking model airplanes...

RE: AW P-51 vs TF Giant P-51
Zeeb's right, that is the core of my questioning.I have flown ,Byrons mustang ,flew well, ground handling was tricky, flew the little hanger nine job, flew great ,fairly easy to ground handle.Built an big Comp-arf ,loved it ,sold it to buy a new Harley(yes that was a good idea) .But I do love the '51's and what I'm trying to find out is the difference in,#1 ,flying/gound handling, and #2, fidelity to scale between the TF and The AW Mustangs.By the time the dust all settles you have spent about the same amout of dough.I have competed in Scale masters on and off for 20 years so I know the drill. For me I 'm after a plane that flys great, and looks good, because a perfect scale/high static airplane in a heap doesn't do anything for me at all.I have seen a bunch of them die in a blaze of glory at qualifiers (usually round 1) before. They static great and flew like a pig on ice. Thanks for all the input I respect everyones opinion, even if we get off the topic now and then. Please keep it comin" Thanks.

AW P-51 vs TF Giant P-51
I realize the factors such as price /gear, prefab etc,but which one performs the best, such as landing speed /top speed ,that flight envelope stuff.
