You need to add about 11 years to the highest number you have there... I have an old Tamiya King Cab, (I need parts for) A HPI Rush, and a Kyosho Nitro pro ST. I'm looking for an Electric Buggy to add to the toy room. Ratt

RE: Talking on Smartphones? Sure, in the UK, Not so Much in US
I think my Smart phone is great and it sucks. I like information! We (whoever we may be) will be talking about something and I grab my phone to hit the net and read a little more on the subject. I'm a real Poker fanatic, I play live Poker just about anytime I get a chance, I have Poker on my phone, It's not for money but it helps keep my game sharp and it's something to do when I have to wait for whatever. It's about the only game I play on it. I can keep in touch with my family and friends easier. We don't have a Home phone why pay three phone bills. It's easier to keep in touch with my Grandson's. With Cody going to college and in his own first house with his Girl along with holding down a full time job we don't get much of a chance to sit down and enjoy each others company so we get in little conversations through text as much as we can. I keep all of my "to do list" "To buy list" "reminders" all kinds of info. on my cell. (Nothing Financial like credit card numbers etc.) I would never be without a Cell, I've had them since the days of the Bag phone. Now the"Sucks" part. I have been retired for going on three years, My wife still has 6 or 7 months to go and when she's at work she calls me all the time (we own our own business). She text's me continuously. I'll be in the middle of a project and my phone rings (or buzzes) and if I don't answer she'll do it again, or I may be out fishing and this damned thing rings. Sometimes I just have to tell her "Honey I love you but leave me the F*** alone" Technology is a very wonderful thing but Sometimes????

RE: Big jump in kit prices at Tower
What a great way to get it done. This is one of those things that when I read I hit myself in the back of the head and say "Why didn't I think of that." I just bought a Tile saw and table to 4X1/2 it does cut the balsa very good and smooth, but I didn't think of 2X4 pieces and totally cut my own
ORIGINAL: Gray Beard I will go over to the wood shop today and take a few photos of the recut saw, OOPS!!! The 4th, it is probably closed? I buy blanks of balsa in 2X4Xas long as I can get it then go to my wood working club. A recut saw is just a BIG band saw but it is set up very accurate so I can make very thin cuts. For 1/16 I just rip it a bit over size then take it to the small over head micro sander and run it through until I get the exact size I want. I'm really lucky to have a wood shop with all the tools required. We have two of the best table saws I have ever used. I buy 3/4 X 2X as long as I want of Poplar and rip all my hard wood stringers. I can't locate any bass wood or I would use that. Anyway, I will try to get some shop photos for you this week. I used to buy my wood from Lone Star, I have been using National Balsa the last year and I'm very happy with there wood. I need to place an order for more balsa 2X4s or what ever I can get for my own ripping. Doing it myself also requires less storage room and blocks don't warp like sheets.
RE: Word of Warning about Hard Drives
Yes look for encryption but also look for a "S" at the end of the Http in the web address that means they have a secure site, but still some one has to read you card account numbers.
ORIGINAL: sjpateys fair comment, but when you order online do you not always check that the site is using encryption for your card info. RE: Word of Warning about Hard Drives
People do not believe just how much and how fast your information can be taken from you. You guys that are in the Military know just how much information that is kept about you on that tiny little chip on your Military ID. And with the DATA readers that are out there now your Credit Card information can be read (STOLEN) while in line at Wally World by the guy in the next isle. I have ID alert and in the last two years I have received two messages saying that my card had been tried to buy different things from two seperate places in the U.S. I had to get 2 new cards. My Daughter and her Husband had their Identity stolen and when followed back it was a credit card purchase that they never made. Now Think of this>> You order something online and you are at the mercy of the sales agent that takes your information! One way they try is: they will make a very small purchase usually well under $10.00 Most people never notice that that amount of money is missing from their account and then the thief will use it to make a much larger purchase. What does thi9s have to do with a computer hard drive? How many of you keep or have kept credit card information or any Financial information on you computer! Smart phones have gps on them, WHY? In the End. Technology is really not a good thing But it's conveient.

The colors actually look good when done in the right Hue. Nice vision you have for it. Ford Fairlane? Didn't know there were different looks of the same car in different countries.
ORIGINAL: phmaximus can u do my car next.... In desprate need of some TLC]
Nice beginning! Hmm, Remove the door handles, remove the long side chrome body protector, get rid of the Vinyl top. Put a two tone paint job, Maybe a purple over Cream with tribal flames running down the side seperating the two tones. Drop the suspension 1-1/2 to 2 inches all around. Get some 17 inch rims with low profile tires. What make is that? It resembles a Mercury from the 60's. Cool Car.
ORIGINAL: oliveDrab Is that a rust-free bondo-less 'Stang?!? I want to drive a Bullitt Mustang at high speed through the streets of San Francisco before I kick the bucket. (Remember the movie?!?)
It's from here in Nevada so it's pretty rust free, There's only one bad spot on the drivers floor pan that I had to replace. As far as no bondo? I really wish I could say no but there's not much and it's just a 1/8" skim. I have the ground effects package (Fiberglass hood, wheel flares, side air scoops, front Facia and below the rockers) that will be all blended in so that will mean a little more filler to do that, it will be done in Fiberglass filler and Kitty cat hair. I have all the high performance suspension with road race shocks, with 18" tires all around lowered 1-1/2 inch in the front and 2-3" in the rear. Here's the trunk deck ready for primer and paint., I did away with the key and going with a remote cable opener from the interior and Maybe? a remote radio control key change opener. everything has been Sand blasted ready for work. The trunk deck is indicative of the rest of the car. Gotta remember it's a 47 year old piece of metal. lol Bullit is one of my all time favorites in Car chase movies, I really like "Thunder Road" with Robert Mitchum, along with Ronin and the French connection. this only names a few of the greats. Long live fast Cars, Fast food and Fast Women! lol Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body But rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, “Wow what a ride
ORIGINAL: quiltsfly JohnP2, I feel for you, I live in the valley of the sun, Phoenix area. I too have the garage for my hanger, the heat really plays heck with the covering. I did insulate my garage door last weekend and got a room air conditioner that covers about 13000 sq ft (LG at home depot). I have not used it yet as I need an electrical oulet for it, and as soon as that is installed I hope to cool the garage to about 82 degrees, beats the 110-125 it is now. Good luck with the heat and keep them in the air. Barry
This is my Garage, I build/rebuild cars during the winter months. This is my 1970 Chevy C-10 short wide box. Discard your blades in that and when it's full, tape over the slot and place the pill bottle in the trash. Bob
I do that But I take it one step further, I fill the bolltle with Epoxy. RE: Flight line Wagon
One heck of a Craftsman, you're pride shows in your work! I'd clear coat that Gorgeous bench.[/size] Now for Field (or Fun) mode. I couldn't find 12" full extension drawer slides. So I used some old drawer slides I had sitting around. I would really like full extension though. Front panel opens to reveal main power shutoff / charger / wagon battery meter / power panel / fuel plugs will be setup to the left of the meter. The side tray flips up to reveal the field charger. Again I need to come up with a way of securing the trays in their respective slots. One slot will be outfitted with the car stereo. Speakers will be installed after the paint job. The rear of the wagon has a slideout that will help accomadate long taildraggers. It is recessed hopefully keeping the tailwheel from sliding off the sides. Also note that the deck has a groove routed around the edge. I hope this will help stop runaway screws and small parts. Closer veiw of the flip up tray. A convenient cover for the field charger when in transport. The airframe restraints have the 3/4" flanges mounted to the underside of the deck. The 19" sections of Alum tube thread easily in place. Later I will place foam around the tubing. Drawers for plenty of storage, and the "dogbox" for fuel and battery location. I decided to keep the shape of a traditional field box here for the hatch. Closeup of the flip out power panel, you can see the magnet on the flipout and the respective flat head screw on the wagon. This works really well keeping the panel shut.

RE: X-acto knife sharpening
I agree on sharpening the blade. I can use that $15.50 for a half gallon of fuel. Cheap? if that's what you want to call it, then I'm cheap in your thoughts.. In my thoughts I'm utilizing the rest of the steel I paid the money for in the first place (as posted above.) I put a longer taper on the steel to the tip of the blade. Any one that's hunted or uses blades knows this makes the blade sharper for use but at the same time it allows the blade to get duller faster, you just have to be more careful cutting and don't cut on glass or any hard object that will dull the blade faster. I hand hone the steel on various grades of dry stones then run a smooth "sharpening steel" over them every once in a while to hone the edge back to sharp. For you guys that use a buffing pad, Try a very hard pad (Lap) with White or Green Polishing compound. to finish the steel with. (Ultra smooth Rouge) How many of you watch TV? You can sit on the couch or your favorite chair while while watching the Boob Tube and honing a blade. I remember seeing somewhere a small commercial X-acto blade sharpener, Thought about it a few times. I'm not a Chef, Butcher or Metallurgist. I just like a very sharp blade to work with. My hunting and carrying Knives (I carry 3 if you count my Gerber multi took) will shave my arm also. Never go anywhere without a Knife?

RE: Transporting in a pickup
These are made out of pvc 40 gauge pipe. The wing and fuse. is rubber banded down the the holder and sand bags or straps to hold it to the bed floor. Work well for me using them for a few years and each one is built for the particular plane. very cheap to build and only thing needed is the pipe and connections along with the primer and glue. I have transmitter stands and plane stands for the shop to hold them while doing work on them.
