RE: How to avoid purchasing a fake DLE Engines
My commercial brush cutter with 5 year warranty cost the same as a dle30 engine alone. I imagine the markup on these engines is steep.

Deans on the planes Traxxas on the cars, Up to a Kilowatt. Any more and I'd rather burn gas. But if I were to go big E-power I'd use power poles.

My weed whacker isn't worth two thousand dollars, isn't made of balsa wood and won't fall 100 feet if the plug fails. yeah I pitch that clean two dollar plug every spring. Too bad my weed whackers and chain saws didn't use CM6 plugs. ____________________________________________ hmmm not a reply just a comment. how to undo that.

RE: Yet another what should i buy thread. sorry
Hi :) I got the same dilemma. I've been looking at the slash or the savage flux. what i want is something that handles like my rustler vxl but with 4wd. i had a stampede but was way too top heavy and tipped over too much. durability is also important. Thought about a brushless revo but understand they're kinda fragile. so, savage sounds the way to go but don't want to regret spending 600 bux when I would be happier with a 300 dollar truck. is the savage tippy like a stampede?
ORIGINAL: Eganwp Many people have dead sticks on the side carb version, hence the release of v2 (rear carb) DLE-30. It solves all the fuel supply issues and has completely fixed the dead stick issue from all the review's I've read.
I've haven't had any dead stick issues yet with my side carb DLE30. Just took a pic but can't upload with the iphone. Have to wait till the wife is done playing games on the computer.[:-] After looking at it again, it is about as wide as the muffler because of the muffler. I'll post the pic in a little while.

BTW, My cowl opening is way smaller than the one in those pics. My opening goes around the head and back just to clear the stingers.

RE: aeroworks .90 to 1.20 yak 54
I'm using Xoar 18x8 and 19x6. As it is I had to remove the wheel pants and put bigger wheels on to keep from breaking props[:(]. If I had a paved runway I'd like to try a 20x6. Other guys on other forums think that the 20x6 is the magic number for 3D w/ the DLE30 on this size plane. The pics are a few pages back from the last. RE: aeroworks .90 to 1.20 yak 54
3: I got a dubro tank because of the gas compatible fuel stopper and moved it back next to the wing tube to try to keep proper CG through the flight. 1: That left me with putting the ignition on top of the motor box under the cowl. 2:I had to cut the bottom pretty good but the JTec muffler sounds really nice and worth it. Actually I think the stock muffler would have needed a lot more "visible" cutting. Meaning the stock muffler would have needed the side of the cowl cut and the pitts only needed the bottom cut. It worked out because this engine now has plenty of airflow and you only see when in hover or knife edge.

RE: aeroworks .90 to 1.20 yak 54
DLE 30 Side carb is perfect fit but you need an additional 1/2 inch stand off to get the back plate to where manufacture wants it. I used this 1/2 inch stand off from PSPMfg.com. http://www.pspmfg.com/RCStandOffsMotorSpacers.html BTW, no additional dead weight needed. The DLE balances the plane very well and has plenty of power to pull out of hover if 3D is your thing [;)].

Agreed[:D] But it's better than installing a new expensive prop every flight[;)] I was thinking about finding/making pants that sit right behind the wheel. Like this http://www.topmodelproduction.com/picselectric/Yak55-XP-5-5.jpg
