Graeme, glad to hear your getting good health care...of course the best is never to need it in the first place. We have a large population of people here in the States that are retiring "Baby Boomers" who could care less about how the younger workers have to pay this debt off. It is all about them...and always has been. I guess it will be justice when they become subjects for many of the revised procedures and mistakes that are sure to happen...neither they nor their family can sue the Government when something gets botched....they can rest in knowing that won't happen. Exactly, not to mention that with any given procedure there are many different methods of treatise....half a dozen surgery methods for a hip replacement alone. I don't want the Government or another Czar deciding whether I get the tissue or muscular method without recourse by me. They should have gone after Tort Reform but lacked the spine. Their solution: spend more, solve part of the problem, create many new problems. This of course leads to even more laws to solve the new problems when they should have identified and focused on the original cancer in the first place...but hey, it makes good theater and they can all look busy while they get nothing done.

Everyone has there preference, but I do wonder if the JR and Spektrum receivers come off the same line. I do remember having to wait several months longer for JR 1222x while Spektrum had their's in stock...not sure if that was a licensing agreement to have a lag, or what...but it obviously didn't come over on the same boat.

In corresponding with Richard a month or two back, he stated that the side exhaust should be fairly easy to do once they have the basic 61 tooling up. I asked him to put me on the list for a few of the SE as well as I would hate to miss out if this is the only run. You might want to get on the list with a SE request. Like Paul said, the list is nearly full. Who knows if they will do future runs...they whole project seems very limited in scope.

RE: Jet Flyers Beware, scam artist Shaun Evans loose
The Island guy with little feedback is not going to get a fair shake in the public court of opinion...and maybe that is warranted, maybe not. Fact is, there is always two sides to every story and sometimes it takes an impartial JUDGE to determine who and what is right. This may need to go to a real court as being impartial will not happen on this forum. YellowAircraft guy has many backers and the other guy...very little. Oh well. I have had many dealings with RCU people and 99% of them have been stand up. Of the 1% that was not, one guy was a well known sponsored name brand pilot who competes in many National events(we all know him). That guy...once he had his money...was a jerk...My expectation was shattered. The other guy...also a jerk with little feedback was not well known in the community. Two sides to every story and sometimes the true will surprise. Good luck to you two guys and I really hope whoever is trying to take advantage here wises up and makes it right...Mommas watching.

RE: Bigger is better than yours.
Good point Fred. Unless your asking the model to be judged...i.e. a contest, then who really cares. I've had highly detailed models at the field that hardly got a second look...I didn't take it personally (it just wasn't important to the guys present). When the effort is recognized then it makes you feel good to know that someone else has been there and appreciates the outcome...call it mutual respect. This hobby is to be enjoyed, so if your having fun then who cares how "perfect" your model is to someone else...it is not theirs. One thing to consider though: it is always easier to sell a well assembled and detailed model then one that is not, and that can come in handy when your funding that new project.

RE: Anybody interested in a NEW YS shortstroke? New, as in produced this year...
I think that is pretty much what Richard at YS stated about the new engine. Common components except the liner and case, so production costs are low and stocked items work either way. I know the common case has been done with success at MVVS but I'm not a fan...personal preference. Anyhow, I'm on the list if they do the 61-S as well. Bobby, have you seen what people are paying for a YS61 lately? I yi yi....yi![&:]

RE: Anybody interested in a NEW YS shortstroke? New, as in produced this year...
Good point Bobby. There sure are a lot of classic side mounted/side exhaust designs out there. Comparing the two you can see that a RE can be pressed into a SE application but it would never really be "right" to a lot of people. Like using an adjustable wrench when the job calls for a 1/4" drive. Perhaps YS has plans for the SE as well? We will see.

RE: adding weight?
Crazy Nick....you have a good question there. Moving the engine forward and/or lightning the tail of your Sig will get you balanced without adding weight. No question, you can force a square peg through a round hole is you apply enough force....I don't recommend that method of building. I have seen way too many models where someone was too lazy to do the job right and took the easy way out, and just bolted on some weight instead of planning the distribution of weight from the start of the build. Result: Over time that added weight destroys the airframe with each landing and each G force applied, resulting in a shorter life of the airframe and in some rare cases airframe failure. With just a little planning you can dramatically limit or eliminate added nose weight in almost all models...with the exception of the really short coupled ones. Congratulations on building a light model without sacrificing the structural integrity of it...not always an easy balancing act to pull off.

It's a imperfect world my friend. Still pretty good though. The vast majority of Moderators do an outstanding job and yet, there will always be a few, who for whatever reason have no business doing what they are doing. It would improve the site tremendously [;)] if there was a mechanism in place to score or rate Moderators (like a feedback score) so the community could benefit from the truly good ones and dump or ignore the flunkys.
