RE: LEAKING DIFFS
Seal (se-al) n. An item used to prevent leakage. A mammal found predominantly in cold waters. When using terminology it's better to know what your talking about than to give advice on the wrong type of diff.

RE: Trashed my new motor after break in!!
ORIGINAL: thor04 hey in the first picture can you not see a full bearing there? I looked at my engines and the one has a thing that covers the all the bearings and keeps them seperated and the other engine has little spacers in the but i can only see just the top of the bearing. or is it just the picture? could it be a faulty bearing? [image]http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc231/th0r04/Xv63253-1.jpg[/image] [image]http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc231/th0r04/bearing.jpg[/image]
Stop looking for excuses, you ballsed it up and should learn from what you have done. Nothing wrong with the bearings apart fronm they are full of piston now.

RE: Carbon fiber is safe... Right?
ORIGINAL: sheograth As far as I know the dust is carcinogenic and you dont want it in your lungs, similar to most kinds of fiberglass. So wear protection if cutting, but handling is totally safe.
During manufacture we have stringent safety rules, the stuff we use is carcenagenic (even outside the state of California), theamounts you will be involved in though, will have no ill effects on your health, the worst you'll suffer is a splinter, and although you should seek medical attention to have it removed, your more likely to dig at it yourself and get it out, just if you feel a burning sensation in the area then do go to a doctor as your body is reacting to it and it will hurt like hel the next day.

RE: servo???
AM or FM does not matter, it does it because it's a digital servo and when you turn the radio off, there is a tiny signal that goes through which causes it to kick. But the point is that you should ALWAYS turn the cars electrics off FIRST so you prevent any chance of a runaway from this symptom or if anyone else is on your channel. Digital servos DO twitch a lot, but don't worry it's a KO and they live forever.

RE: LEAKING DIFFS
6 screws, leads me to think you have the spider diff in there, if so ignore the last 2 posts as they are irrelevant, SPIDERS HAVE O-RINGS, Dab the head of each screw into some RTV (silicone) sealant before you slot it in, then do each screw up in the diametrically oppossed style, sit the diff on one end so that the heads are at the top and allow it to dry.

RE: Turbo head button??
The turbofan acts in the same way as a supercharger in a 1:1, except of being driven by a belt, it's drivene directly by the crank and is there to compensate for the loss of power due to the drag of the pullstart parts, but it doesn't, it really is just a fancy one way bearing to crank adaptor, which is the most common failure on these engines due to the poor material used, when the mills flooded and youtry to turn it over, it is this part that cracks and splays open allowing the oneway to revolve inside it and thus NOT turn the engine over. The only thing the fan really does is stir the mixture up a little more than a normal engine and so creates a better mix of fuel/air to enter the chamber.

RE: DIFF OIL KNOWLEDGE
ORIGINAL: GRANT ED Do a search for diff oils and you'll find loads of info. Basically fill to at least 80%. (Personally I fill to 100% and have never had a problem but some people will advise against this). Shock and diff oil is the same stuff but diff oil in general is a LOWER viscosity. You can also mix oils. I,E 50mls of 200wt and 50mls of 400wt will make 100mls of 300wt. RE: Inner front bearing?
OK even if you do find a 14x23x6mm bearing, you've still got a prob, the crankcase is for a 13mm crankshaft, your crankshaft is still 14mm from the mach. I think I gave you this idea a while ago and I forgot I was running Hyper 21 Pros for the last few years and that they have the 14mm crank, the older 4 and 8 ports have the 13mm one. Those cranks all had the same sweep though, and contrary to my earlier post,I've done some research and the 8 port pro and the Mach 28 use the same crank, so your plan of using the same crank but with the .28 PRL should work. Just see if it fits before you strip anymore stuff.

RE: Speep difference between 13t and 16t clutch bell?
You will have a 3/16th increase in top end (if your engine has the torque to pull it back up to flat out) with a 3/16th drop in acceleration, along with the increased running temp, increased wear on the clutch and shortened engine life.
