RE: Deployed flaps plane stalled and crashed
When using flaps many planes will pitch up. Always keep the nose down and power on. A computer radio has a mix for flaps. F to E mix. You can program a % of down elevator with the flaps. 20 to 30% flaps will give lift. 40% is all drag

RE: DSM2 lockout?
A loss of signal will trigger a fail safe if you programed it. The small receivers only have it on the throttle, the larger receivers will do all the flight services. A failure of the receiver is toast. you can have a fried receiver or total power failure then no fail safe.

RE: Radio Interference at our field
Thank you, this is what these forums really are good for. Facts. As a good TV show said "just the facts ma, nothing but the facts". The JoNall showed one year just how good our new system is when they put up 100 planes on one system. Yes it did show the limitations in that the response was a lot slower but it also showed that 100 of the same plane will fly if you can keep up with yours and not try and fly someone ele's.

RE: DSM2 lockout?
I said nothing about failure, and you are right it's toast. A "brownout will reboot the receiver when the power comes back up. A lock out will put the plane in fail safe. All the systems work this way.

I think that the company blanking out 2.4 would be braking the law and the FCC would be interested. that may be why you've never seen it again.

RE: DSM2 lockout?
If you have a "brown out" it means your voltage went down. A "lock out" means loss of signal. you should have your fail safe set. If the receiver has trouble it will go into failsafe and you have something to talk about. If the battery fails or becomes unpluged you have nothing but it's not the radio doing it.

If you want something cheap to learn on look at the Champ from horizon. $90. with radio. It's small but will take a lot of crashes and keep flying

RE: Securing your AMA field
I do know that setting deadly traps are illegal. I don't know about passive devices. It would be worth a phone call to the club to find out. I do know in my case I saw where they changed the tire in the pasture and turned around. Never had a problem since. When I told the police they just laughed. Dennis

I't does appear to me that you still dissagree with my idea. I think. I just don't see a police car in the middle of the night driving thru unmowed pasture and over a ditch just looking for the bad guys, but I could be wrong. Dennis

RE: Securing your AMA field
Lets see the poster said they drive over grown pasture land. Not a place for normal driving. Also if there is a pattern to the events the strips would only be used during those times. Had the same problem on my farm in the back. Cutting fencing to get in. Used them on my side. Only had to do it once. It's just a idea. Dennis

RE: Securing your AMA field
Is there any pattern to the damage, ie, Friday nights, I like the spike strips. Make sure they on on your property. If there is a pattern, have a party and have members there to catch them. Tell the police what you are doing so they are ready to respond when you call. It has to be the same people doing it. Stop one and you stop all. Dennis

RE: A123 Question
To give you a example of how the 123 hold a charge. I flew my plane one time before winter last year. I didn't recharge when the weather closed me down. In the spring I put a charge in and only needed 300ma. With two battery's I could have flown that first day of spring without a charge four times before I really needed a charge. Dennis

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?
I always enjoyed fly pattern planes. I found them to be easy to fly because they are so true. The late models are easy to land because they will slow down. The new ones don't use retracts, the older ones were always a pita because the gears would wobble around. If got back in I think I would go electric this time. No YS to keep tuned or pipes, and no worry about db's Dennis

RE: Model Aviation and Dogs
We have no dog rule at our club. Only one member brings his dog a yorkie. All that dog does is visit everybody and want to sit in your lap. When he fly's he tells the dog to go to the car and sit. the dog waits until he's done and then gets out. I have dogs but don't take them with me. Don't want to have to watch them and fly too. Dennis

The battery will only show 7v for a very short time, then drop to 6.6v. I see no problem using the battery without a regulator. Dennis

RE: Spektrum not working after bind
Here it is again. No help just bashing. I read A-9 bashing, Futaba no guid bashing, also heat problems or why it took them so long to release their own 2.4 when they had their technology since the 60's. Yes Spektrum has improved their systems. Don't you want a company to find better ways to do things. If you can't give the guy some ideas, Stay out. I could type two pages on why Spektrum has upgraded their system, but why bother it won't answer his question. Or I could ask why Hitec hasn't come out with a new radio yet. but why? It has nothing to do with his problem. This gets so boring. I've owned them all and sold them all. Dennis

No matter what WC says you have the number 1 seller in the US. Just go to any Jet meet and see for yourself. Make sure all the battery's are charged including the transmitter. If you still have a problem call tech and talk to them. You won't get a answer here. All you get is silly brand wars. Dennis
