I have to say that Sprint has been extremely fun to fly. I am just wondering why mine does not look like the picture in the manual. [:D]

This radio has a date sticker on the box of 7/14/08. One year one month, I received it after that date (warranty) I am not trying to bust anybody's chops, just extremely concerned as to the way things have been handled.

10chp erratic behavior
I have a 10chp radio that I think after only having for a year is failing. First indication was aileron twitches on fm. Then intermittant elevator trim operation during flight. Next was channel reversing on its own, between one day and the next. (FM or 2.4) Then throttle trim not working and timers resetting on there own. This all has started within one weeks time. I purchased this radio last year after it came out. I am guessing without a proof of purchase that I am sol for warranty ?

Nice flying Doc. Good deal on the waiver.[:D] It looks to me like you didn't read the basic requirements section for obtaining a Turbine waver. Section 12, parg 16 clearly states "before said Pilot is signed off on his or her solo, said Pilot MUST be able to sucessfully complete the solo flight ONLY after taking at least 15 pictures during said flight". Remote video is not acceptable.I know, I missed that part as well and if you believe all that, I have some swamp land for sale in Bangladesh at a really great price. I think I saw a lion in the tall grass[:D]

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
I am no expert as this is my first turbine and boomerang but I will give you my thoughts. The center wing has three holes in it. One large one for the wing spar and two smaller ones for the wing( boom) rods. These aluminium rods are either, depending on when it was purchased. a: screwed into the outer wing. b: pushed into the outer wing and a pinch bolt holds them in place. Then the tail boom is slid onto them. This assembley is then slid into the center wing and a pinch bolt is screwed against the rod. This holds the wing and boom on. Yes, I have to remove the elvator, wings, booms, spar and retract the gear every trip out and back. On the down thrust. I do not know. I put a Rabbit on mine, balanced it and only had a couple of clicks of elevator. Good Luck I hope this helps It is a blast to fly.[:D]

BaldEagel Thanks for the information. I have even tried full flaps yet, maybe 40 degrees. I have anal glacoma today and it is going to to be an excellent day for flying. So I think I'll try somemore airbrake and see what happens.

Question... How much spoileron can you have before they spoil flight I have about 3/16" up right now and I do not notice a big differance with air brake on or off.

Okay,Okay I'll start over again I got 3 flights on it yesterday. It is a very stable, smooth flying aircraft. Still doing a little tweeking with the mixes and I am working on how slow the slow flying speed is. So far it has been a blast to fly.

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
I am not attempting to publicly flog the product. And yes I think that I will contact Patricia and see if there is anything that I can do about the issues. I have put many arf's together and some go together as they should, with some minor tweeks here and there. Some don't. This one did not go together well at all and all of the vasoline in the world will not correct a fit or alignment issue. Maybe if the wing rods are a little tight, but not if they are going in 3 different directions, 10 minutes to put a wing on and 20 to get it off without crunching it is not fun. I don't want anyone to get the idea that I am here to bash the product. I am not. I bought it because I like the looks and the flight characterictics that I saw in the videos and if the assembly was as stress free as the flying was, I would be a happy camper. I am not a grumpy old man. I just call it as I see it. My 2 cents, or maybe 1 now[:D]

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
I agree with you jneedham. I have found more items on this arf out of alignment and misaligned than any other arf that I have put together. Turning down the aluminium wing rods a few thousands just to get them in the tubes. All of the things that you mentioned were the same problems that I had found with mine. I thought that these were supossed to be high quality affordable arf jets. Maybe we got the Monday, Friday kits[:o] I won't do it again

RE: is it worth getting a raptor 30?
The current Raptor is a V2. If you are just starting out and learning to hover then I would say yes a 30 is an excellent choice. Low fuel consumption, and that is what you need to do is to burn alot of fuel and get alot of stick time. It can always be converted to a 50. Engine, fan, muffler, belt, boom, blades and main gears. These items you can work on getting over time. Just my 2 cents, good luck.

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted- Over 200 Members already !
This might help to keep the covering on. I have used this method on three of my magnums and so far they are holding up. I went to the cheepy dollar store and purchase some clear finger nail polish and put a couple of applications of polish about 1/4" on either side of the seam, edge, perimeter or what ever you want to call it. If you get a spot loosening up just clean with acetone and reapply. Just my 2 cents, anything to help a brother speed freak[:D] Oh and just a helpful hint, make sure the wing pin is secure. Check it after a couple of flights, cause the magnum takes off like a missle when the wing leaves it.[:D]

Cool[8D] What powerplant are you putting in yours? I decided on a Rabbit. I could not tell how much thrust it had on the bench runs but, when I ran it up in the sprint and held it back it pushes hard. [:D]

RE: sj60lx pipe on ax55 ?
You might be able to get it to fit with a little resizing of the case, muffler bolt holes. The sj60lx muffler doesn't start to increase engine performance until about 16,000 rpm. The ax55 is not a high reving engine and will most likely never reach that rpm range ... with a prop anyways. Good Luck [:D]

sj60lx pipe on ax55 ?
Will a sj60lx pipe work on the os55ax? With a little modification it will physically fit [:D] What is the rpm range of the sj60lx pipe ? Would it require a 9x8,9x9 prop to get up on the pipe ?

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
I have always used 4300 L-ion 2s2p redundant packs in my helicopters and have been able to get about 12-14 flights out of them before needing a charge. I would just monitor how much was put back into the pack at the end of the day and calculate for the number of flights. I would also check them under a one amp load every other flight to get an idea of where they were at during the day. But then again this is not the ECU battery where heavier loads from the glow plug and starter motor during start up. Fuel pump and fuel valve throughout the flight are loading it. Just my too sense[;)]
