Greatest Day of My Life
It all started around 12:30 today I recieve a phone call from my friend at the airport said that the guy that got the L39 jet is going to take it out today so I go to the airport and the the jet is on the tarmac waiting to be prep and ready to go, so the pilot shows up and he strarted to do his walk around and we got to talking about jets I told him that I fly rc jets and I really love it as he done with his walk around we talked about his jet and how I like it,Then it came, he look at me and said the magic words do you want to go and fly with me and he also said that I even let you fly it now what do you think I said?? Sure I would love to go fly with you.So he did a safety briefing with me told me anything red do not touch and if I thought he said eject he did not becasue he was still in the jet so what he was saying is do not eject unless you see me go first I thought that was kind of funny. Well we got strap in and taxied to the runway 20 just before we turn on to the run way he spool up the turbine and check the EGT temp and last control check then we taxied on to the run way and line up with the center line and full power was applied and off we went the jet roard down the runway and the nose came up and then the main gear followed and I in the back seat grinning from ear to ear and thinking am I dreaming I know you all are thinking do I know this pilot?? No I don't when I came up to the airport I guess he saw the gleam in my eye when we got to talking about jets now we have level off around 15 thousand feet and he tells me are you ready for a few G manuavers so we did a 2 G turn and he ask me how was I and I said I am fine so he said lets add a little more Gs so he dive the plane and I felt the negative Gs and then he pull up in to positive Gs around 5 Gs I remember the blue angel training on pulling high Gs and I did what they called the Hick to keep the blood from leaving my head and I have to say I was fine with that he came on probably expecting me to black out and I check in that I was ok he said now it your turn to fly Yes fly his L39 I have to tell you that is one sweet jet I rolled the jet and it was dead on nothing was needed I got to do two rolls and man that was so great then the talke me through a imblemun with the jet he only managed the throttle and I did the stick thing when I rolled out straight on level I was on cloud nine and to top it off he let me fly all the way back within 5 miles of the airport then he took over after a high speed pass down the run way and a miltary pull out and landing that was so neat. Needless to say I was tired after all the negative and positive Gs but I sure was glade I got this experince once in my life my friend at the airport was expecting me not to be able to get out of the jet he was amaze when I climb out was ok no sickness but all smiles that was a life time dream for me to not only ride a military jet but fly as well needless to say I won't sleep tonight I wanted to share this with all my rc jet pilots I really got a treat today and very happy. [sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=teeth_smile.gif][sm=teeth_smile.gif] And to add I got a great respect for all fighter pilots that pull those Gs all the time it really takes a lot out of you. Robert

RE: OS 91 DF engine help please!
From the closed position try 2 rounds out that should get you started then adjust from there and if the engine been sitting for a while take the glow plug out and put a few drops in the hole this should get you started and get the fuel to the carb. hope this help. Robert

RE: THE RETURN OF THE VIPERJET
I cannot say enough good things about this jet,I have to say to anyone if you haven't tried the crow mixing you do not know what you are missing this is just what the Super Viper needed I could not believe the difference it made on landing I thought I was landing a big old piper cub you can place your landing where you want it.Like the guy said wish all jets could have crow mixing I did a couple of go around in this confriguration no problems did not even notice the crow mixing was in nothing funny happen with the jet just a normal go around. RE: NEXT GENERATION VIPER JET
I also am counting the days I love the way the Viper Grooves it is a great flyer I got one of the now older one I damaged the right wing and noes on a flame out right after take off but the landing should not hurt the wing I am glade to hear that the wings are beef up after looking in side of the damged right wing I seen that it could not take a little punishment,I need a right wing and a noes cone and it ready to fly again but can't get the parts. So I told Tam to put me down for the news super viper can't wait. Robert

VIPER JET FIRST FLIGHT
What a great day to start the flying season Gene and i went to the Tennessee Jet site and first flight 2 planes, mine being the viper jet form tam and Gene being the super reaper both jets flew good, My viper is power by a ram 750pr and man what a great match for this jet,you talking about fast this jet will scoot when i took off i kept waiting to do something like trim .it kept right on tracking like a pattern plane there was no trim needed me and my friend CG it a 210mm and that was perfect,I heard a lot of people says that the jet don't want to slow down let me tell you i drop the flap and with the elevator mix that tam suggest it did not change my trim one bit and i set up to land and it was just like landing any of my ducted fan jets a very nice smooth touch down. My thanks goes out to tam the guy knows what he talking about on this jet if you listen to him i call and ask him stuff several times about setting up this jet and he would advise me and i did as he said and you hearing the success of the first flight that was awsom and safe so Tam if you are reading this all i can say is sucess, and thanks for the advice and help, and a big thanks goes out to Mike Grant for letting us use the Tennessee Jet Site great place to fly. Yes I agree Tom knows where the cg as a ducted fan but i have not once heard where it is as a turbine set up with out the 2 12oz tank up front mine is set up just like BVM with same fuel tanks as he use in the f-4 and bypass and bif pipe all the inside of the jet is like bvm set up but the question is if the fuel tanks is on the cg would you balance like Tom says in the instruction i look at bvm cg which is 123/4 from the leading edge and i check where it would be on my f-4 (jmp) and it would put it behind that 43 3/4 which should be very close to right. both jet are same length and wing span. what do you guys think?????

Aptar Its my belief that as a ducted fan version and the tanks are up front of the f-4 instead of the cg line that if you put the tanks on the cg line it would change and it did i had it balance on the money a matter of fact i had it where the nose was down when i cg it i thought i was compesanting for this but not enough i know i just flew it sunday and it was tail heavy.
