Webra piston ring
I need a piston ring for a Webra Speed .91. Anyone out there with any ideas of where to locate one? I realize that Webra has gone out of business so it may be difficult to locate one. Thanks. DWG

Set up for Sr. Falcon
I am currently scratch building a CG Sr. Falcon which I will be converting over to electric. The plans show a semi symetrical main plane and a fully symetrical horizontal stab. Both have a 2 degree positve incidence in reference to the thrust line. The engine has no down thrust. Just wondering what the designer had in mind by doing this. Would not a zero zero set up for both the main wing and stab and 2 degrees of motor down thrust accomplish the same thing? DWG

RE: Dalotel
I truly believe that this is one of the best scale flying airplanes out there. The fuse moments are excellent and the airplane has a very generous horizontal tailplane area as well as a huge rudder and fin. This airplane really grooves well. DWG

RE: Dalotel?
Over the past few years, I have designed, built and successfully flown a 1/4 scale 81" Dalotel. The prototype F-PPZE was powered by a RCS 1.4 gasser, had Century Jet retracts and was covered with Century 21 fabric. It had a foam wing.It came in at 14.5 lbs and flew well. The second one (C-FHKE) was redesigned using all laser cut components and is powered by a Saito V 200Ti. This time I used a builtup wing and used a fixed gear. I plan to equip it with retracts at a future date. Weight came in a 13.75 lbs.

.91 surpass bearings
Hello, I am in the process of replacing the bearings in my .91 surpass engine. From reading other posts, the correct procedure is to leave the seals on both sides of the main bearing. Question: How does the cam gear and the nose bearing get its lubrication? It seems to me the better idea would be to leave the bearing open so lubrication can reach the rest of the engine. Thanks. RE: Copperhead Venom 45
I would seriously consider replacing the original ignition with a RcXL unit from CH ignition. I converted two of my engines and they work great. As for the muffler, the only options would be to repair the old one or get a new one made. Try Bisson mufflers. I think they are in Ontario, Canada. DWG

Setting Up The Fulcrum Arm on a Walbro Carb
I am using the Walbro Metering Lever Gauge to set up the fulcrum arm on my WT-231 carb. There seem to be two schools of thought here. One is to adjust the arm so it just touches the the center portion of the gauge when placed over the body of the carb., paying little attention to whether or not the needle moves. Another method is to set up the lever so that when the gauge is positioned over the carb body, the needle is just barely starting to open, i.e. the fuel is starting to be drawn inot the chamber. Any comments? Thanks. Dave G.

RE: 140 DZ pump pproblems
I always add a couple of oz. of sythetic to every jug of fuel so lubrication is not a problem. I did run the engine on 30% heli the other day and I still am down on power - 7300 on a 16x12 APC. This engine is becoming a pain. DWG

RE: 140 DZ pump pproblems
O.K., I got the pump working , but only after I found that the small poppet valves had been installed backwards. It now pumps like a 3 alarm fire engine. However, all is still not well with the engine. With a 16x12 APC, it only turns up to 7000 rpm. I can get the idle down to a unsteady 2,000. Other pertinent facts: Engine has a new piston & liner Excellent compression. Pump adjustment screw flush with housing. Valve timing checked as per manual and also using a degree wheel. Valve clearances O.K. I used 15% Cool power for fuel. I am aware that a higher nitro fuel is recommended but I can't believe that it would make a 1000 rpm difference. I feel that I have overlooked something but can't put my finger on it. Perhaps XMans can offer any suggestions? Thanks. Dave G.

RE: RCEXL Ignition Timing Question
Thanks, Milton. Yes, I am aware of the CH timing instructions. Where the confusion comes in is that the instructions that I have for my setup has the timing is set at a whopping 40 degs advance. However, once the engine starts it runs well and shows no sign of preignition. Just onto another subject, how do these (RCEXL and CH ignition) units handle the automatic spark advance? Am I correct in my thinking that after the first flip the ignition goes back to perhaps 2 to 3 degs advance for starting and then goes to a full 28 to 30 degs after about 4000 rpm? Even with a heavy glove, I am getting tired of getting whacked. My little pinkie still hurts. Dave G.

RCEXL Ignition Timing Question
My Chinese 45 cc gasser uses a RCEXL Ignition setup with electronic spark advance. It kicks back like a mule when starting. A heavy glove is a must. Is this normal? What is the correct method for timing a RCEXL iginition system? Thanks. Dave G.

140 DZ pump pproblems
Any help in troubleshooting the pump on my 140 Dingo would be appreciated. Even when activated by hand using the pushrods it will not pump. It has ben disassembled and checked for foreign material and flushed out with fuel. The plunger seems to be O.K. but I can't tell for sure. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks. Dave G.

RE: RCS-140 Idle adjustment help needed
I had a similar problem with my 140. I found that the isolator block (the piece between the carb and the engine head was warped resulting in a poor seal. Check yours with a straight edge and if necessary true it up on a flat surface and rubbing it on a fine grit sandpaper. I eventually replaced mine with a hard bakelite one from lawnmower shop and modifing it. Problem solved. Have a good day. Dave g.

RE: Fuel tank repair, what glue
Great feedback, sounds like I'll have to make a run to the LHS. I really was hoping to find a solvent type glue, rather than a sticky glue. Something that will melt and weld more than just "glue". Any ideas what type of plastic these tanks are made of?

Fuel tank repair, what glue
I am trying to fix up an old car, a kyosho v1s. My problem is the fuel tank is broken. I have great surface area to glue the thing back together, but after using epoxy, my plastic model cement, and then pvc pipe cement, the tank is still in two pieces. Any thoughts on what type of glue will weld this thing back together? Thanks in advance

Here is my version of the Dalotel. Wingspan is 82 inches. Powered by a RCS 1.40 gasser. Century jet air retracts. Covered with Century 21 fabric. Designed with Autocad. The model has very accurate scale outlines. A great flying airplane. Suitable for scale or IMAC. Dave G.

RE: YS 140 DZ Fuel Delivery System
Troy, I finally came up with the answer as to the low power on my 140DZ. The intake valve is leaking badly. When turning the engiine over slowly by hand the air escaping thru the carb is quite noticeable. Also, when I do get the engine running, there is a lot of fuel spraying from the carb. Looking at the valve under a magnifying glass shows it to be "cupped" and the seat is grooved. Is it possible to lapp the valve again or am I faced with getting a new head assembly? I am also curious as to why this would happen to the intake valve while the exhaust valve is still O.K. Thanks DWG
