RE: topgun invites came today
You have been issued with an invite to Top Gun so what the heck are you complaining about? [8|] If your not happy with the way things are, then simply tell Frank you are declining the invitation, but don't sit there behind your PC b1tching about rules. I have heard this about other events by many other people, but in the end it's usually B.S. To get an invite is a good thing and I think personally, a bit more gratitude should be shown for being selected for this comp instead of moaning. Rules are the rules and are different for all events. It is about finding the best model and pilot for a given event/comp, and there are plenty other subjects that you could enter if you feel you are not going to get anywhere with your chosen model. If you would like to see the rules changed, then make a proposal and get invloved with the way the rules are made. Don't just sit there and complain. Did you email Frank with your thoughts on the rules, before, posting here on RCU? Afterall, it's not like the new rules were secret. All you had to do was to email Frank asking for what new changes had been decided after TG 2008, and he would have gladly told you what the new changes were. That way you would have been able to make a mature decision on wether you were in or out before the invites were issued. Sorry, but it ticks me off some guys don't know how lucky they are to be able to attend the TG event or any other event of this calibre for that matter in your own back yard and then b1tch about the rules like a buch of kids in a playground telling the World it just 'aint fair. My 2 c worth.

RE: Not jet but must see !
Dave, It is very possible, in fact, TOC pilot, Bill Hemple, was the first recorded (on video) model pilot to have done this and again can be viewed on U-Tube. I think what you were watching was the "Realfight G4" simulator that have incorparated the wing failure in the simulator software since Bill did his recovery from the wing loss. Interestingly, the CEO of "Realfight" had

RE: Jet Masters
Write to the [link=http://www.ijmc.net]IJMC[/link]. Make the proposal. Attend the next AGM. Dicuss the proposal. Vote on it. If you are successfull the new rule will come into effect for the 2009 JWM. Any changes for 2007 have already been voted/made at the AGM in Hungary. Having said that I have to agree that scratch building is a good thing and should be looked on with favour if done well.

RE: Soviet Jet rivets
Judging by the size on the 1/7th scale fibreclassics mig 29, they are about 2" diameter . . . . [:D] About the size of a golf ball [:)] [:)] Seriously though, real rivets for any Russian aircraft are probably the same diameter as mosh other full size aircraft out there. They may be pretty rough, but I don't think they are that bad.

RE: Scotlands JWM 2005 entry
To All: This is the new rule as voted on at the IJMC meeting. It means that now Wales can not enter any future JWM as they have not entered before the change. That Article 1.0.3 be amended to include clauses (f) and (g). (New text is in italics). 1.0.3 Nationality of Competitors. (a) All competitors (including members of an Open entry) must be from the country/nation they are representing, and passports or other ID may be required as proof of this by the Contest Director, or the IJMC. If persons wish to compete for national teams other than the country of their citizenship then the following rules (b) to (g) will apply: (b) They must apply in writing to the IJMC Council for permission. (c) They must have resided for two years in the country in whose team they wish to compete and must provide the IJMC with documentary proof of the period of residence. (d) They must obtain the agreement of the team organisers to their membership of that country's team. (e) On returning to their country of citizenship an individual will immediately qualify for consideration for membership of that country's team, without the need for a period of residency. The IJMC has to be informed in writing of such changes in circumstances. (e) National teams will in future be recognised by exactly the same criteria as that used by the International Olympic Committee. However, “grandfather rights will be allowed by the IJMC to recognise national teams that would not be accepted by the IOC but who have competed in the past in IJMC competitions. For example, the IJMC will continue to recognise separate teams from England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. “Grandfather rights will be retained forever. (g) The IJMC will only recognise the National flags and insignia that are recognised by the IOC and those flags of national teams exercising “grandfather rights.
