RE: pcl paints .......
I use PCL primer exclusively, its the best stuff out there. It's high build polyester primer that I thin down with acetone when I just want to spot prime and dont want the high build. It sands like butter and you can paint anything on top of it. I have never used their clear coat but from my past experience with the primer, I would try it. Is the clear coat polyester as well? If it is, then I would try a test piece first to make sure it does not attack the basecoat your using, because the catalyst is mek.

no its a Rodenator! You hold down the trigger and shoot propane and oxygen mix into the hole, then hit the pain button. I tend to forget to count how long I am holding down the trigger of love and usually get lifted off the ground! Its an actual product, we did not invent it.

RE: CA Jets 2010 photos etc.
Now to get serious for a minute for those who did not attend the Saturday night Banquet. We lost one of my best friends this year in a Motorcycle accident, he was a guy that I considered to be the trademark of every jet show. Johnny Hernandez was the life of the party no matter where he was, and I have some of my most incredible funny memories while hanging with him in Florida and when he visited us out here in California. The most memorable trip is when he and Bryce came out to California to attend Fresno Jets with me and Jimmy.....the stories are still being told years later, that's the type of guy he was. He told lots of stories (a couple were true) burned a lot of Kero, and trademarked the trash talk! Johnny was an icon at any event and I, along with many others, will miss him dearly and never forget him as long as I live. This year at California Jets 2010 we added an award in Johnny's memory. The recipient of this award would represent the true spirit of the Jet show as did Johnny, and would be the person that everyone wanted to hang out with. He would be the guy who you are always looking for at the end of the day and asking him what he was going to do because you did not want to miss out on any of the fun. As did Johnny, this person would stand out in his flying and also make you belly laugh no matter what you were doing. This years Johnny Hernandez award was given to Pablo Fernandez. Pablo was not only someone who I would not have met if it were not for Johnny, but would not be here at California Jets if it were not for Johnny. Thanks for taking the trip out Pablo, you earned this award by being a true role model to good spirits and good flying in this hobby. Johnny would be proud. Here are a couple of pictures of the award, it is at my house right now as I need to ship it to Pablo. I took the pictures with my daughters to try and give you an idea of the size.

Its funny how you and Duky are so worried about how much I paid for my Habu. Yes Horizon sent one in for sponsorship, and it will still be at the banquet Saturday night.....my plane is coming in on BVM's trailer and it has one official kill already. I just love how everyone asks me if I'm gonna get one, then question when I do.

there was only one Habu painted different, at Florida Jets (it was Frank Tiano's), and it made for some great spectating. It was nearly impossible to figure out who was flying what plane, but somehow Ali was still able to pick out Pablo and chase him down into the ground!! It was awesome. Horizon Hobbies has graciously donated a Habu kit to our event so that the sky's above California can swarm just like they do all across the country.

Yeah we are very very excited and appreciative of the sponsors for making our event the only one that I know where you have a chance to win two turbine engines just for registering as a pilot and attending the show. Special thanks once again to Evo Jet and JetCat USA for making this a monumental event. Please help me thank them, as they are doing this for the pilots to show their appreciation of everyone's support.

RE: Large Skymaster Hawk build
ORIGINAL: SAP_2000 It has been said before that the Large Hawk has troubble retracting the gear because of not enough power in the retracts/ air cylinders. In the video from Florida Jets above, the gear does not retract so Ali eventually has to roll it inverted to get the gear in. No doubt it should not not be this way, but the question to Anton/ SM is: Are there any upgrades to the gear on the current planes being built and shipped?? As you know, I have one on order, and would really not be happy if I have to pull tricks to get the gear to retract on every flight[X(]
In Florida Ali used someone's pressurized air tank to fill up the air system's in the hawk, this only allowed like 100-110psi to go in the plane. Only on one occasion did he have to roll the plane upside down in order to retract the gear, the other flights he would do a slow fly by after take off and retract them at show center. I do remember one formation take off with Thomas Singer that they both retracted the gear right after he broke ground, so I don't think there is any problem with the gear/cylinders. I think if he was able to put 120lbs of air in the plane it work flawless each time right after takeoff, but since the gear have so many doors hanging out in the air it takes some good air pressure plus being able to retract the gear right after you break ground. Ali let me have a flight and I fell in love with this plane, gear worked fine for me as well, and I think Skymaster has another winner with this bird.
