RE: Old School DF Jet Rally next year
Dont get me wrong, I love turbine jets and am not trying to start a new trend, just thought it would be fun to go "Old School" for a weekend to relive our past and appreciate how far we have come.

RE: Old School DF Jet Rally next year
hell yeah I remember the Cloud Dancers. I remember they had a video camera in the cockpit and took some great footage that I used to watch over and over. I had a Byron F-15 with twin Rossi .81's, awesome plane.

RE: Old School DF Jet Rally next year
its funny, alot of us still have old school parts laying around. I got a Byron F-20 fuse in my attic, and Byro fan parts, ect.. And there are plenty of old school rides for sale cheap in the classifieds.

Old School DF Jet Rally next year
I was talking to Jason Somes on my way home from work today, and we started swapping stories about all the old Byron Jets we each had and the fun times we had back flying ducted fans. we were both getting pummped reliving the old days, so I decided to put together an "Old School Jet Rally" next year. The location is not determined (most likely the Willow) and we just have to decide on dates. Its gonna be a propper jet rally with trophies and goodies, and nothing but glo burning ducted fan jets. No turbines, No electric. I am one of the many who are completely spoiled by turbines and sometimes forget what it was like to actually have to work at getting a jet to fly a full tank. Its gonna be a blast. So.....who's in?

RE: Skymaster Viperjet wing bags?
Ian makes some great wing bags and we were just talking about him taking my Viperjet wings and using them to make bags. There are plenty of guy's out there with Skymaster ViperJets for it to be a worth while effort on his part I think. Ian can take my wings home after the Willow weekend on the 13th, and make bags for anyone who wants them.......if he wants to do it.

RE: Skymaster F-4 Equipment Install
ORIGINAL: n411x@hotmail.com Mike I have been useing the A123 Bat for about a year now and really like them. Have you flown the F-4 many time and have still got to find out neutral elevator position for a good c.g. it seem 290mm is a good starting piont but I have not seen a neutral elevator postion. Thanks so very much for the input. Pat Martin
Pat, the neutral elevator position is 1 1/8" down from that big panel line, measured at the leading edge of the stab. All you need to do is look at your fuse back there and you will know what I'm talking about. If you need a picture of it, let me know.

RE: F-4 Heat Damage
Dom, I dissagree that it would be the same on all manufacturers F-4 models because each have varied pipes, pipe angles, and other things that might distribute or react differently to the exaust elements. I have 65 flights now on my Skymaster F-4 with a P-160SX and not a single sign of too much heat to the a$$ end.
