RE: JetCat P90 RXI
Nigel Yep, but RCJi fuel figures are well about JC's for the P-80...so based on that I guess I'm close! Dave

RE: JetCat P90 RXI
The P-90 is a way of extending the life of the original P-80 parts. The turbine that really started what we all have now. I expect the fuel use to be quite high (close to 400ml), power comes from 130,000 over 125,000, so more fuel than the already heavier P-80SE. Weight difference makes a big flying difference, also there are a lot of aeroplanes that are a snug fit for a 112mm turbine like the P-90. Models like my DerJet Vampire need a load of nose weight, so just a bit on the turbine behind the balance point make a big difference with the additional saving on the weight you add. Throttling I expect to be slower than the P-100 and since so many people are (in my opinion) wrongly obsessed with throttling speed this will make a difference. The P-90 will offer another option for sure, but until production can be ramped up its just another unit to produce. I have a waiting list on P-20SX, P-100RX, P-140RX, P-180RX... We will be flying a P-90RXi in an Ultra Flash and we can see how things pan out real world then. Dw

RE: JetCat 180rx
I'll be very surprised if you see an RXi this year....my face to face talk tells me its a way off. The 90RXi has finished development and is a month and a half away, I'm expecting all my next few deliveries to be P-180RX's as they are. We have had no bearing or combustion chamber issues and have motors with over 10 hours running. None of the pilots I have spoken to in Europe have had problems either...!? Dw

RE: JetCat 180rx
There has been some turbine wheel issues due to a foundry problem. Checks before assembly are slowing down the deliveries, but more P-180RX turbines will be coming through very soon. Existing owners might want to talk with the supplying dealer, who can deal with JC about any questions. Basically there are a few turbine wheels with a less than perfect profile on one blade. Dw

RE: Jetpower 2012
We got back to the office just after 2.00am and unloaded, returned the van to its yard, bed by 3.30am and I've been back in the office since 7.45am sorting stuff out! Interesting Jetpower, other than Friday's choppy cross wind the flying weather was good, perfect temps for me, not to hot not too cold! Talking to most of the traders the std type model sales were very poor, larger expensive kits were selling really well with record sales for many. It was interesting noting Skymaster/FB etc models that normally have sold signs on by Saturday lunch time, were lacking all but one or two. Even turbine sales from many of the bigs were less than normal. Personally I don't enjoy the new display set up, the event has moved from a good place to display your products to more of an airshow set up, OK Sunday was an airshow because of the 10 years and public were there in large numbers...but not to buy turbines! Jetman wasn't what I had hoped for, I guess that's why he's still alive [;)] Really enjoyed the event as usual and met many old friends, eat good food and travel was no stress. Dw

RE: Jetpower 2012
Just about finished getting ready, we meet back at the office 3.40am tomorrow ready for the off. M&R have a selection of sweets as always, a few Hunter's, Ducty's, Byron Craft stands, plus a good range of accessories and radio from MAP, Intairco, JR Propo etc etc. In the 10 years we have been doing this I seem to have aged, I don't look forward to the early start so much now [;)] Dw

RE: New Aero Tech Epoxy Glue 50ml JP2012
No scale pulls, just 40 years modelling tugging, twisting etc! I did peel and bend tests. The original one with too brittle when set and I could flex an epoxy fuselage and "pop" a former. We added some flex and other magic stuff to increase the bond strength. Dave

New Aero Tech Epoxy Glue 50ml JP2012
I have been working with a UK company called Deluxe Materials for most of this year on a new epoxy glue they were developing. Early samples were not anywhere near as good as 9462 Hysol/Aeropoxy) but we continued to develop the product learning as we went...I did a lot of joints testing and I'm now happy with the end result. We will release it at Jetpower this weekend. Hysol and Aeropoxy has become so expensive to get here, this has a good saving. It comes in the same 50ml cartridges and includes 1 mixer nozzle. Also there is a 25ml twin shot version for those hand mix/tacking jobs you just want a small amount of glue [:)] Its gels in 3-4 hours and 24 hours its fully set. Dw
