RE: Which plane?
Yep, this plane would be the best choice.

Home, fed, watered and Moto GP'd I'm sorting through few shots taken today. Big thanks to the Merryfield people, I understand yesterday was a cracker, but I travelled down this AM after Blackbushe and had a fly fest with my GJC Mig 15, DJ Vampire and CARF Ultra Flash. Pat, Dizz and Jamie, plus Roger and the JMA committee for there work. Weather was better than expected, a few spits of rain were dry 5 secs after hitting the hot ground. Dw

Blackbushe Airport show Saturday 18th May
Today was the annual single day show held at historic BlackBushe Airport south west of london. The weather held and other than the (usual for this site) cross wind element it was not too windy most of the time and non stop flying was performed between 10 and 5, with Ali running the line and flying a tonne of different toys. I flew twice with my DJ Cougar joined by Little Stevie and his. All Ali's flights over shadowed ours and we bugged out after 2 displays. (guess from the landings which way the wind was blowing [:)]) Ali flew his AW Lightning a couple of times and I managed to snap it from my stand position. It looked great! proper Lightning performance! Lots of other turbine models flying, but I never found time to shoot them and No1 son didn't get around to it between eating burgers [;)] A few shots Dw

RE: DSM2 lockout?
The failsafe worked perfectly again AFTER the receiver had been powered off and powered back on, just like it had been programmed to do originally. During the lockout, the throttle did not go to the failsafe condition, even when the transmitter was turned off. Turning off the transmitter and turning it back on did not end the lockout. The lockout ended and the receiver worked perfectly again only after it had been powered off and then back on.

RE: DSM2 lockout?
All of the 6110e lockouts were in electric foamy planes. The Orange 610 lockout was in a small balsa electric plane. The farthest distance was less than 100 feet from the transmitter, the closest was about 15 feet away. Some were indoors, most were outdoors.

RE: os 55ax old model vs new model
The old 55AX had a 40J carb. The new 55AX has a 40K carb, which is the same one used on the new 46AX II. The old 55AX had a E3020 muffler. The new 55AX has a E3071 muffler, which is the same one used on the new 46AX II. The old 55AX was made in Japan, and says so on the crankcase. The new 55AX is made in China, and says so on the box. In a side by side comparison of the old 55AX and the new 55AX, I couldn't tell any difference in power or the way they ran. They both ran great.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
We fly from a 290' strip, and It's no problem flying the UF in and out even in calmer conditions. Personally I've never felt the UF was going to stall and you get sooo much information from the feel of the aeroplane through the sticks. I've had some contact about where the balance is measured, so I did this on an UF I'm building now... Dw

More flap, less lift, so more likely too much down programmed in with Flap. I've spoken to quite a few UF pilots here today and none feel theirs are "flicky" or "Snappy"...

RE: JetCat P90 RXI
The P-90 is a way of extending the life of the original P-80 parts. The turbine that really started what we all have now. I expect the fuel use to be quite high (close to 400ml), power comes from 130,000 over 125,000, so more fuel than the already heavier P-80SE. Weight difference makes a big flying difference, also there are a lot of aeroplanes that are a snug fit for a 112mm turbine like the P-90. Models like my DerJet Vampire need a load of nose weight, so just a bit on the turbine behind the balance point make a big difference with the additional saving on the weight you add. Throttling I expect to be slower than the P-100 and since so many people are (in my opinion) wrongly obsessed with throttling speed this will make a difference. The P-90 will offer another option for sure, but until production can be ramped up its just another unit to produce. I have a waiting list on P-20SX, P-100RX, P-140RX, P-180RX... We will be flying a P-90RXi in an Ultra Flash and we can see how things pan out real world then. Dw

RE: JetCat 180rx
I'll be very surprised if you see an RXi this year....my face to face talk tells me its a way off. The 90RXi has finished development and is a month and a half away, I'm expecting all my next few deliveries to be P-180RX's as they are. We have had no bearing or combustion chamber issues and have motors with over 10 hours running. None of the pilots I have spoken to in Europe have had problems either...!? Dw

RE: JetCat 180rx
There has been some turbine wheel issues due to a foundry problem. Checks before assembly are slowing down the deliveries, but more P-180RX turbines will be coming through very soon. Existing owners might want to talk with the supplying dealer, who can deal with JC about any questions. Basically there are a few turbine wheels with a less than perfect profile on one blade. Dw
