RE: NitroPlanes - MQ-9 REAPER
No steel rod in this kit, just the 1 long 6mm carbon fiber rod. It much longer than want's needed for the elevators. Thanks for the reply, I have found some more 6mm rod to use for them. Dave

RE: NitroPlanes - MQ-9 REAPER
A build question. My kit came with 1 - 6mm carbon fiber rod for the wing spar. The elevators each need a 6mm x 80mm rod, am I missing these 2 rods or do I just cut it from the large wing rod. Right now that rod extends about 9 1/2" into the wing if I take the elevator rods off there will only be about 6" into the wing. Any advice guys? Dave

RE: Concrete Field Tables
We have the starting benches already, they don't quite cut it for working on a plane. Great for starting. We've tried finding wire spools but here they have a deposit that companies pay. Larger spools can be worth $500. The idea of a concrete table is that it will still be there years and years later. Dave

RE: Concrete Field Tables
We spent about $50 a table on basic wood, stained them and now about 2 years later they are starting to break apart. Could never build them here with maintenance free material for $50. Concrete and block type table will last a life time. Just depends how permanent you want them. Found a couple through google images.

Concrete Field Tables
I know I've seen a pic on here before but can't seem to find it now. Anybody have a picture of the field table that is made out of concrete. I remember seeing a pic of one with concrete block legs and concrete top. I want to pitch the idea to my club at the next meeting. Thanks Dave

RE: IS RCCANADA site down?
It's unfortunate the conflicts that seem to be happening. As for the "props" I'm not a mod and I can give or take those "props". When Jason ran RCC, I believe it was more of a hobby than a business. Although Ric is an RC'er, it now seems to be run more to the business side. One can not blame him, if he invests money he needs to see a return or why do it.

RE: What C rating is best
Thanks for the input guys. So the motor on this fan will draw 80-90 amps, calculating that out at 20C/30C burst 5000mah pack is rated to provide normal 100A with bursts of 150A. 20C sounds sufficient so what is the benefit of of going to a pack that is say rated 30C/40C burst or higher? Dave

What C rating is best
I just purchased a Stumax 110-52 fan unit. Runs on a 12S 5000mah pack with a 110-120A esc. Trying to figure out what C rating I should be looking at, is higher ratings better? 50C vs 25C? Do higher C ratings maintain voltage better? New to electrics, Thanks Dave

I've had my eye on a 6x12, pricing them out and trying to come up with a justification for buying it that would not have me kicked out of the bedroom and sleeping in it. 30 miuntes ago my wife (I love her) comes up to me and asks if I'm home tomorrow, I say "yes I am, why?" She says your trailer is being delivered tomorrow........[X(] Pictures to follow....... did I say how much I love my wife[:D]

It's the same forum site to me. The only email spam that I know of, was Rick letting people know about the contest he was running. There has been some tweaking of the website like any other, has not been any slower for me. Sometimes when I sign in to RCU I get a message that the site is down for maintenance, so what's the difference?
ORIGINAL: bolar Come on down and buy one. It makes for a fun road trip home breaking in a new trailer. Would Canada still get you in taxes or import fees to a point it wouldn't matter?
I've really thought about it and still might. As for taxes just the wonderful federal 5% tax at teh border. Bright side is it would less tax than buying here.

I am really jealous of you guys down in the US. Was just down in GA for a couple of weeks and saw new trailers 6x10 and 6x12 sizes for under $2000. Here in Canada they sell for over twice that. I can't even find a 5x8 for under $2000. It's just not fair! [:@]

RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
Jim For a 14 ft trailer that is not too far off 10-12% of the trailer weight is ideal, your trailer is probably in the 2,200 - 2,400 lb range empty (depending on construction). If the hitch on your Astro van is a class 3 if would be rated for a max of 500# tongue weight. Check the owners manual and see what it is rated for. If you move items to the back and lighten the tongue too much the trailer becomes unstable. I had a trailer we were setuping at work with tools and at about 50mph the back started swaying so much that it just about flipped me off the road.
ORIGINAL: shepp Ron, Thanks for the heads up on the crow funtion. I hadn't thought of that. I may try it when ever the snow quits[:(] Dave the '' Crow'' or '' Butterfly'' mix raises both your ailerons a bit when the flaps are extended. It acts a speed brake and is very effective. You must have your ailerons on two seperate channels , and all of the transmitters , that I am familiar with , are capable of this function. Shepp
Thanks Shepp Knew about the crow with ailerons, I was thinking it was something built into the wing. My bad. Can't wait to get started on my Turbinator. Dave Dave
