RE: National 747 crash
For those interested here is the thread: http://www.pprune.org/rumours-news/513650-cargo-crash-bagram-31.html Alasdair, as well as the Trident the VC10 also had a pusher, T-tail being the common aspect, but all three Boeing types I have flown were shakers only. After the Trident and 1-11 deep stall accidents I was a little anxious when on BOAC VC10 stall training we went as far as the pusher, and in the aircraft, not the sim. ! As well as the Bagram 74 crash another very worrying accident was the very recent in-flight breakup of the USAF KC135 with the loss of 3 crew members, but as Alasdair says, there's no point in speculating, the investigation will get to the root of the cause.

Actually the above picture looks like an ENGINE to me, the turbine is invisible inside the ENGINE. (unless you look into the tailpipe !!)

RE: Airworld hawk flap hinge help
The flap hinges should be mounted on the scribed lines which makes them, and the fairings, parallel to the a/c c/l. The fairings are not particularly scale having no "knuckles" and I am prepared to make patterns for scale ones if someone knows how to make the fiberglass moldings from the new scale patterns. Regards, David.

RE: Twin Turbine Jets, loosing 1 turbine
I entirely agree with David S. I have long considered a model Canberra but shied away from it because of my experience with the real Canberra (and Meteor) as shown above. I believe a model of either would be uncontrollable on one engine. (I would be VERY happy to be proven wrong) A symmetrical... could meet up at Jetpower. Regards, David. PS On the real Canberra, if you lost an engine after

RE: Can a 757 do rolls?
ORIGINAL: bevar David, I prefer rolling the 767 over the 757 because of the 767 having 4 ailerons active below 280 knots. Of course, I also turn off the yaw dampers prior to the rolls but that's just me...it seems to point roll better that way...lol. Beave [8D]
Next time you try it trip the CB for rudder ratio, you can stop the points even more sharply ! Try not to break

RE: Can a 757 do rolls?
ORIGINAL: gooseF22 Gotta push on the yoke thru the inverted portion or it will barrel out and the roll almost stops....just ask Boli... (requal)... :)
Oh no you don't, like I said keep some back pressure to maintain positive G. The aircraft doesn,t KNOW its inverted ! Pushing when inverted will get you a face full of fuel LP lights and maybe some others such as hydraulics ! Lotta fun in the sim but it has its serious side, if more pilots were exposed to this and practiced handling in extreme attitudes it could well help them cope better with jet upsets, and perhaps avoid situations like AF 447, one reason the RAF teaches ALL pilots aerobatics in training. 737 rolls really well too and you CAN stop it on an aircraft carrier too ! All tried in the sim. Dont think its been done on a 747 and the busses don' t allow it ! However, the A380 display at Farnborough was superb, and all done at an IAS of 160 or below, magnificent flying ! D.
