RE: Jet Product Supply Monopolies
"Better' for who....... supplier or customer. No doubt exclusive deals are supplier-friendly but as a customer i really want choice and competition. In fact i would go out of my way to avoid an exclusive supplier as i would suspect he was not competitive. Not sure that exclusivity works these days with the reach of the internet anyway Just a thought. David

RE: Pirotti Tuono
ORIGINAL: ruskind A few more pics while the Tuono is assembled prior to fitting out. I am very very pleased with the finish and paint job. Phil Noel at Pinnacle Aviation took a great deal of trouble to work out with me how the scheme should look. He completed the job on time and was clear about and stuck to the estimate, good to do business with. I was inspired by the surviving Sea Hawk in 806 Squadron 'Ace of Diamonds' colours, that I think flew from HMS Eagle delivering sorties over Egypt in the Suez campaign. There are not enough FAA scheme jets around, I have a Comp ARF Flash in USAF Thunderbird scheme and a Comp ARF Hawk in USN T45 colours so for this beautiful jet i wanted roundels. I take Pats comment that the Sea Hawk is possibly prettier and I guess the Tuono is more akin to a Scimitar, but 806 never flew Scimitars, and i wanted to relive the scheme. I will now start fitting her out; AMT Pegusus turbine, Multiplex Digi 5 HV servos, Multiplex Pro 16 RX's with GPS telemetry, Power Box Cockpit SRS. I'll post completed pics on the Tuono build thread. Hopefully she will be ready to fly in public at the JMA meet Long Marston in July.
RE: One Rx or Two???
Hi, The two rx issue to me is a no brainer, yes do it. It reduces the risk of any rx or signal failure by a percentage way way under the cost. It's a tiny investment compared to losing a model. David

AMT Olympus without a doubt, its the turbine that Dave Schulman achieved the world speed record in a Firebird. AMT are Rolls Royce, why buy a Ford. David

RE: HV servos
Hi, you can run HV servos with the others but they will be slower and have less torque than if they were running at 7.4 volts. Most HV servos have their spec written up for both 6 and 7.4 volts so you could tell what performance you'd lose by running them at 6 volts. Cant see the point as you'd be losing the real benefit of the HV servo.

Hi all, another Carf Hawk in the air, kindly maidened by DW at Abingdon. I'd incorporated pretty much all the suggestions and set up through the build thread and she flys like a dream. I'm really pleased, its an excellent model. ps had to upload the picture of DW using my MPX TX..................he did give a wry smile though!
