RE: Warning Graphic Picture!!: My Thoughts from a Newbie
The reason the Fire Department put a steering wheel on the rear of the truck was not so much to drive it, but to allow them to get the ladder down small and narrow streets by making the trailer swing around a lot wider than a trailer with out the steering. As for starting an engine, I tip my hat to Minn Flyer. You never get behind the engine and try and start it. You might be able to pull it off once or twice, but sooner or later it will bite you. Good Luck, Dave

RE: Secure payment by Paypal, think again!
I also had the same deal with Pay Pal. The protection they speak off only works if the other party has money in his account. With the amount of time that Pay Pal takes to look at a claim the scammer can clean out his account and the buyer is screwed. They still owe me $80.00 from about 4 years ago. Not holding my breath even though I won my appeal with them. I am sure that the scammer that I dealt with has had dozens of different Pay Pal accounts and has scammed dozens more honest folks, put Pay Pal could care less, just so long as they get their percent of each sale. Good Luck, Dave

RE: retract valve and setup question
If it is a valve designed for air up and air down, I am thinking that it may not work if your gear is air up only. You can make the gear go up and stay, however once you bring the gear down, you will loose all your air in the tank. If you were to block the down side so that the tank stayed full, I am not sure how the air would escape for the gear to come down. Just my thoughts, and Good Luck, Dave

I have a Ryobi that I got at the Home Depot for $100 bucks. It does a good job as long as i go slow with my wood that I am cutting. If you try and go fast the blade will wander a bit. Good Luck, Dave

If you master the T-28, a good tail dragger for a second plane would be a Sig 4 Star or LT 25. Good Luck, Dave

RE: Topflight P-40E Warhawk Thoughts
There are some build threads here on RCU for the P-40. From what I have read the P-40 is one of the harder scale planes to fly that Top Flite has made. I am not sure that a P-40 would make a good second plane. It would be a big step up from your T-28. Good Luck, Dave

No you do not need the beveling tools that come with the kit. The beveling can be done with a good bar sander. As for missing hardware, start building the plane. If anything is missing you will know as you go. Looking forward to some pics of the build and good luck, Dave

RE: engines...bringing them back from the dead?
I have used WD 40 in the past. WD 40 will attract moisture so once the engine has loosened up, fire her up with fuel and burn off the WD. After running the engine, pickle it with some after run oil of some sort. Good Luck, Dave

RE: Airborne battery for Spectrum radios
With my Futaba Fast system, it depends on my planes and what servos I am using. I use nothing but 6 volt in my bigger planes that are using Hi Torq Servo's, but in my sport planes that are using standard servo' I will fly the 4.8 battery packs. Good Luck, Dave

RE: best engine for TF P-51
The Top Flite Gold kits do have a reputation for being a little on the heavy side. The weight issue can be expanded by adding full retracts, flaps and such, however they all fly well. As for your engine problem, I am an OS man from word go. Having a 75 on it might be an issue in the grass on take off, but depending on your planes weight, the 75 should fly it. I know the OS will fly it.... Good Luck, Dave

The 6 volts is not your issue. The servo is not completing it's cycle or it is stripped and will not complete the cycle. Pull your rode from it and give it a good going over. Good Luck, Dave

RE: Who builds high quality ARFs
I had major issue with the SeaGull stuff. First flight on my extra 300, the wing bolt block broke loose in flight and had it not been for a doubler on the wing saddle, it was a crash in the making. My son has a Great Planes Matt Chapman Splat ARF that has been clocked on a speed gun at 103 MPH and he has not had any issues with it at all and he fly's the wings off the plane. Good Luck, Dave
