RE: synchronizing engines
I agree with alot of the comments being made. I fly twins and I always put a servo on each engine. I then can adjust the end points on the servos as it is very difficult to get the carbs all set the same with bell cranks or cables. I can get my engines within 500 RPM and have not had any issue's with them. Some of the horror stories on flying twins I have seen to be untrue. One of my flying buddies was flying his twin one mourning and upon lift off on take off, he was at 10 ft elevation and lost an engine. Everyone would have you beleieve that this would be the kiss of death for a twin, however he used rudder to cordinate his turns and landed the plane with no problem. I always set my engines up so they will go dead if I want them to, so if I lose one in flight I can kill the other if I need to. I have used this feature on a couple of occassion's as I would rather land dead stick than with only one engine running. Multi engine are a little more work, but so worth it. Good Luck, Dave

RE: Applying vinyl invasion strips
When I apply sticky things to my covering, I use the Windex method. I spray Windex with Ammonia on the surface that I am applying my stickers to, apply the stickers and then use a squeejy to push out all the Windex when I have the sticker placed where I want it. The Windex allows you to move the sticker around the get them into the position that you want them. Once it is all squeejed out, let it sit 24 hours and you should be good to go. I would take a scrap piece of your vinyl and test it on a piece of covering to make sure there are no issues with it. Good Luck, Dave

RE: Great Planes Goldberg Anniversary Cub Kit
The Goldberg Cub does not have any tendancies to tip stall. As with all Cub's, it takes a little practice to get them in the air. You will need to practice trottle management and how to use the rudder on take off runs. Once airbourne they are very Cub like in flight and really have nothing bad to talk about. They float on landings and if you have learned to fly, you should have no problems. As mentioned, you can clip the wing so that it will be more aerobatic, but other than that I would not change anything. Good Luck, Dave

Not sure where you can get them made, but your crew needs to be very careful around any prop on any RC engine. They will and can cause a person some serious hurt and damage. Good Luck on your mission, Dave

RE: mode 1
Well I am thinking that the odds are in the favor of Mode 1 flyers. Given that a very small percentage of RC flyers are Mode 1, Mode 2 pilots have a much larger chance to make a mistake. I would bet that if you were to gather the statistics, Mode 1 flyers make as many mistakes as Mode 2. Our club is 115 members strong and I believe we have one Mode 1 pilot and he in point of fact damaged a plane a couple of weeks back. I don't think that any Mode has an advantage as a mistake is a mistake. Good Luck, Dave

Wow, what a day
Just got home from the first annual Goldendale WA. Scale Event and what a day I had. None stop flying, both with wheels and floats, jets, and Warbirds galore, topped of by the raffle of all raffles. ( I won a plane...) Thanks to the group that put it all together and to mother nature for a wonderful day weather wise. I am already putting on next years calender. Dave

I agree on battery packs. I have gotten some Nicads and they don't even last 6 months and then when you send them back they give you the old sorry about that story and you are on your own. I switched to lipos and voltage regulators for my planes and have never looked back. Good Luck, Dave

RE: Learn to fly ASAP
I have been an instructor pilot for more years than I care to think about, and as far as I am concerned there is no better way than a buddy box. Your vidieo shows one young man that spends more time looking at the transmitter than the plane, which is never a good thing. Your method reminds me of the old days of passing a transmitter back and forth, before the birth of the buddy box. I am glad that your method works for you, but I would think that there would be more that will stick with buddy boxes than switch to your method. Good Luck, Dave
