RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Mine were too tall on the elevators, so I had to make some custom spacers. But I used aluminum heli mounts that were 1/4in thick.

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Keep doing the work for us Henry! They complain but don't make the effort you do to make a difference. It is easy to google and arm chair quaterback! But all the haters can hate! And last I knew this is still is a free market society! keep making money, and putting a smile on your face! And mine! Thanks for doing the work for us! My time is worth a lot more than sheeting a wing, changing the covering and making a mount. For the record, my flying partner has a 120 and has put a lot more money and time making his turbine ready than I did. Tanks, mods, ect. This is a fact gentlemen. Go Henry!!!!! Make money and enjoy! Forum trolls don't pay the bills!!!!!

Not me, I use my welfare checks that I usually sell for .50 on the dollar, then I sell my free health care to anyone I can find on craigslist. Then I sell my govt funded cell phone minutes for fuel. Thanks for paying your taxes! I love this country!!

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Let me get this right, flame customer service yet you turn and buy a 3k jet. Why even bother coming here? Two sides to every story gentlemen. Air your laundry somewhere else. I don't understand those who drive a BMW and complain about the high maintenance? Really? I take 40 mg of celexa to protect me from society. Lmao IT'S amazing that I followed Henry's advice and my plane flys amazing. It also amazes me that all the issues posted here I haven't had....hmmm maybe because I take responsibility and read!? Built the plane to MY standards, and nothing has happened? My two collapse gear landings weren't because spring air, it was because the plate on the nose gear won't let you lock the nose unless you slow her down enough to reduce the pressure and drag. Jets 101 boys. It wasn't cables, spring air, or the blocks fault, I was just too fast to lock them. Gotta slow her down and they lock every time. But wait, maybe I should complain and get a free fuse replacement? Or I can take accountability for my flying and slow down... Hmmmm wonder what I should do???? Henry, can I have free fuse since I can't slow down and build my plane?

RE: KingTech K-80
ORIGINAL: flejter1 Megafly, Just throwing my 2 cents in. On a freshly charged 2S Lipo pack, your K-80 will start fine. When the pack drops to 8V, you will not get the perfect starts and more than likely a no start. If you stay with your 2s Lipo pack, ''CHECK THE VOLTAGE'' if you have a no start. Don't mess with the settings, as you now know what settings work best on your turbine. I would take Barrys advise and go with a 3S LIFE or a 7C nimh pack as they tend to last longer through out the day of flying. As for you guys running the Kingtech propane start E model turbine, the 2S Lipo works fine. Good Flying, Dirk Flejter KingTech, USA Service Tech
This is a fact. I have a propane start on a 2s 5000 mah pack, and I can tell you she is good for 3 starts, after that if she drops voltage or a cell is slightly out of balanced, she will not start. You better have a good charger and balancer!

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Alright gentlemen. On Dreamworks RC they have a similiar tank if not the same model as ours for sale, vent is on top. Very nice...but I didnt do that and put my vent tube inside wich was a little short. Probably a loss of 4 to 6 oz due to the rise of the tank. No big deal. But what kind of flight times are you guys getting with throttle management? I did 4 min test flights and came in with about an inch or so on the bottom of the tank. I am thinking 5 to 5.5 minutes maybe 6 if I pattern for landing at the buzz of the timer... SO, I am thinking MODIFY time already! Dreamworks site says its an 85OZ tank? is that the size of ours in the V2 and V3 kits? Either way, I am making room for another 16 to 18oz... YEAH BABY!

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Got 3 flights in today before my ECU pack got low. These Kingtech's do not like a low battery! So I will need to purchase 2 more for back up! LMAO!! I had a great maiden and a great 3 flights total! She is a beautiful flying plane.....so gentle and so docile landing. Oh by the way, NO WHEEL WELLS!!!! and she is fine!!! Stock landing blocks...AND SHE IS FINE!!!!!! Thanks to Henry and his guidance and all of my turbine brothers on this page, thanks for all the guidance and feedback on my build. It was an honor today in my flying career. Ive been flying since I was 9 and this was the tops! Thanks to everyone for all the help! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqJ4Ta4oDKs

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Can anyone tell me if the Kingtech K80 when mounted touches the bottom of the aluminum mount??? will this be a heat problem? OR will I need to add spacers to get a gap between the two? I mounted mine the best I could today on the V2 mount and the mount just isnt tall enough towards the back to give me a "gap". Any suggestions?

RE: KingTech K-80
Barry, seems all is solved. Settings for gas were at 95% and running rich apparently. Got settings from oz and messed with the gas! Actually with Texas heat and humidity, I tuned her down to 35% gas and she fires up first time everytime. I never thought taking it that low would work. I am also using the coleman green bottles for start. As for the plugs, I'm still runnin 2.2 on the plug and that seems to be working. I have faith in her now and can continue on my build. Thanks to Australia and you guys for your support!
