RE: Official F27 Stryker Part 8: Beginners to Custom Darkness
The scorpion ESC's have an option that at Low Voltage they emmit a tone (modulate the prop) without cuting the power.

RE: Official F27 Stryker Part 8: Beginners to Custom Darkness
I have about a 60% success rate at hand launching so I am designing a smaller car portable catapult before I finish the next Stryker. I can not get on the stick fast enough to keep it out of the ground. when I fly 5 cells + 6 oz motor I do not want to hand launch.

RE: Official F27 Stryker Part 8: Beginners to Custom Darkness
Mopar asked me:Have you done anything since our last PM ? yea, I had my daughter out flying with me and I wanted her to get some pics of my stryker so I had it at about 15 feet , 75% power doing hard turns. I did about 3 figure 8's, was going to roll out of my right turn and went right into the deck. It must have been doing 60mph. only lost the nose! super glued it back on and it's still flying. I need to replace one push rod as it is a bit curved. total damage was the ESC broke the tie wraps, one of the wires from my scorpion broke, bent a push rode and the nose broke off. if that had been one of my gassers it've cost me $150. it is amazing how durable the stryker is! I have the bent CF rod and Bass wood elavons as the only mod to the frame.

RE: Official F27 Stryker Part 8: Beginners to Custom Darkness
I used nichrome wire from a model rocket engine wire to melt the foam and then set the CF tube in the cutout and then checked that the wing was not bent and then used epoxy with micro balls to set it in place. the next time I do this I will but the bass wood on the trailing edge first to help keep the wing from bending

I agree, I would be glad to add a volt meter/current meter to the traveling motor if it goes to someone that does not have a curent meter...
