RE: Firewall Servo Mount
Thanks. I'm going to have a real hard time mounting the throttle servo 12" away, actually impossible...

Firewall Servo Mount
I need to mount the throtle servo on the firewall, as well as the electronic ignition module. The receiver is buried far back in the plane. I'm assuming this is not a problem as long as I don't use metal to metal from the servo to the carb. Comments... Dennis

G 38 Air Leak?
Have a G 38 that isn't performing very well, misses at high RPM, sounding like it is rich. Making adjustments on the needles seems to make little difference. After cleaning the carb out again, I noticed that choking the engine, does not seem to draw the fuel nearly as quickly as it should. Takes minutes...I also noticed when I put my finger over inlet to choke, it sounds like air escaping when I turn over the prop. Assume that this could cause the poor "fuel drawing" during choking, plus the problem with ineffective needle adjustments. For the life of me, I cannot figure out where air is leaking from...if this is the case. Thoughts and suggestions welcome. I may just purchase a new G38 carb. Thanks.

RE: G 38- Misses @ High RPM
Thanks, I tried the velocity stack first, no difference. Hopefully the tube will help. I'll know Tuesday.

RE: G 38- Misses @ High RPM
Thanks. So in other words, solder a nipple to the small whole in the plate that covers the carb, run a tube into the fuselage...sounds simple enough. I don't think the screen is dirty, I just rebuilt the carb. I'll try the pressure line from the carb. It's been really frustrating since it works fine on the ground, only to start sputtering evgery time I go up. Dennis

G 38- Misses @ High RPM
I have a G 38 that runs with magneto. When flying at mid to high RPM, engine starts missing badly, sounds like an ignition breaking down. Works great on the ground. Baffled... Guys at the field say it's too rich, but no matter how much I lean the high end out, it does not seem to matter in the air. I'm stumped and cannot figure it out. Changed to a new plug, no difference. Help!!!

TF Giant P47 Bubble Canopy
I realize I'm really missing something, but need to ask the question. I'm building Giant P47. I am not putting in a cockpit. It appears from all directions, that when you have installed the "CB" and "IP" pieces of plywood, and left the cockpit floor in place, when you cut out the canopy, it doesn't cover the entire open area. Do I need to go back and re-make the fuselage sides, bringing them further up towards the canopy? Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

RE: Quadra 52 Mag Hub
How long ago did you get yours from B&B? A week ago he was out of them and they were backordered from Quadra. Mayube he got some more in, if he doesn't get them soon, I'm going to have someone turn the original mag hub down on a lathe and stick a magnet in it. thanks for your reply. Dennis

RE: TF Giant P 47 Flaps
Thanks for the reply. I fully understand the "clevis" program. My issue is getting the clevis hooked to the servo after the right length is determined. The servo is attached to the hatch cover. Seems to me that you cannot hook it up while the servo is atached to the hatch cover. Just have to see when I get to that point. Thanks.

Top Flite Giant P 47 - Flaps Question
I think I may feel pretty dumb after I get the answer, but I'll ask anyway. The flaps have a horn "embedded" that sticks into the inside of the wing. It seems to me that it will be very difficult to hook up the control rod from the servo to the clevis/horn. You cannot get an accurate measurement with the flap servo out of the wing. I just don't see how you can hook it up and get accurate measurements, let alone hook the rod to the servo and then mount the servo. Please tell me I'm missing something here. Dennis

TF Giant P 47 Flaps
The Flap horn extends into the wing itself. The servo attaches to to horn via a rod that hooks up to the horn. It seems to me that with both sides of the wing sheeted, it will be impossible to get the servo hooked up to the rod going to the flap horn. Am I missing something or is there a trick I'm missing out on? Dennis

I looked at an engine I have never seen before, the SV line thru Hobby City. I was taken to the site thru RC Universe link. Looking for any thoughts or feedback on this line of gas engines. I see they have a 26, 45, & 50 cc engine. Has anyone used them or heard anything about them? New to me...

Balsa USA 1/4 Scale Pup - Weight???
I have completed a B USA 1/4 scale Sopwith Pup. B USA says this should be around 12-14 lbs. I had to add 4lbs of nose weight with a G23 for power. I don 't think there'll be a problem, but wanted to get some opinions from people "in the know". Let me know your thoughts. Thanks. Dennis

RE: SIG 1/4 Piper J-3 Cub -> PA-18 Super Cub conversion build
Well, I have been studying this site and have to get some ideas regarding a cowl. I have just ordered a Balsa USA 1/4 J3 kit, with the intent of bashing it into a PA-18. I know there are some differences in the firewall, and the cabin structure, but am curious about the cowl. Fiberglass Specialties offers two cowls. Are either of them scale in apperance. I know that HH was going to put together some type of kit that I would be interested in, just thought I'd get some feedback before proceeding too far. Thanks for a great follow along site. Dennis

Question to all you Cub enthusiasts...I want the most scale kit I can find. Is it the Balsa USA 1/4, the Sig 1/4 or the Sig 1/5. I'm thinking it's the Sig 1/5. 2nd question...Any idea who has the most scale plans available for a scratch build project. Thanks for your help.

I am thinking about building a real scale Cub. I am not opposed to scratch building if the plans are good and very scale. Which is the best method, buy a kit or use someone's plans? Are the kits available "built to scale". Which plan producers have the best scale plans? Thanks for your input. Dennis

RC Universe Auctions
I have used Ebay in the past for a lot of RC auction items. Just last week, I switched to RC Universe, and got a great reception from your support base of patrons. This week, I tried to add more things to sell, but discovered that auctions have been eliminated. That is obviously your choice, but i was really impressed. What I was not impressed with, is that since you stopped adding auctions, it appears that no one can bid on items still up for auction. The activity on my items has screeched to a standstill. It may be my imagination, but it appears that access has been cut off. If that is the case, this is wrong to the people that still have things for sale. If I am wrong, I apologize, it just seems ironic that all activity has STOPPED. Nevertheless, thanks for a great website at RC Universe.
